cool cool. what happens for you as the dictator? do you take control of the heirs? or is someone else appointed?
well because this Dictator dies so early i sort of reserved Blasio, but no after that I will select a new heir. after Blasio dies though ill try and focus more on being a game master and helping to better all your experiences...ive been sending messages left and right im tryin to get new members...
how come one of you to legion commanders hasn't fought the battle?
It's Everyone's job unless he says otherwise. You have to take in time differences, Navarro. Basically it takes two days for messages to go between him, me then you, because we all live at different points in the world
no ya i understand that but im just saying technically while he out ranks you in-game, you could lead the battle if you want unless it is a Dux campaign which this is not. If you guys already agreed he would take it don lemme stand in the way of that good planning smart :2thumbsup:
We havent agreed, but if he hasnt done it by the time you wake up, I'll do it. Gives him 8 or so hours
oh hi. just came back from school and had my dinner.
thanks for waiting for me Baen, I'll just try to assault the settlement now and see my results; if it's a victory I'll just post the save and let the game carry on; but I'll let you fight the next battle that includes both legions (because when we attack the next settlement I'll probably be busier than I am now)
edit: gah! navarro didn't post the link to the new save. I'll have to wait a while...
edit 2: I'm going to sleep now so I'll take the save around 8 hours (or less) from now, I already PMed Navarro about it
There's 11 pages to this thread and I don't want to dig through them all - Is this game 1.2 compatible, or just 1.1?
Just 1.1 because we started with 1.1 and we can't upgrade to 1.2 because it isn't save game compatible.
Theres not very much different in 1.1....
Just a few minor tweaks with client rulers and various bug tweaks.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Bononia battle report. :2thumbsup:
When is the recruitment of Legio III going to begin? After this battle I believe TCV will have two battles under his belt and will be able to command it.
Actually, do we have to name the legions after a region? Or can we just think of good names, Legio III Rapax, Victrix, or after its target, gallica, germanica...? Regionlegions are boring by time
Propose it in the Senate see how many votes you get.
I haven't checked the save but have my character moved to Ariminum already or is he still in a fort near Roma???
@Ibn: the last time I saw Q.F. Licinius, he's already in ariminum
Hey yall, totally embarassing haha forgot to put the save up after typing me report. it is up now and sorry im extending the save another 24 hours if neccesary so the battle can be fought.
@Ibn, yes i moved your avatar there.
As far as I can remember then in the times of Republic they named legions with numbers only. Later, during imperial times they got these other names too.
Julius Caesar named a disgraced legion the Tenth while he was on campaign with Pompey. He gained control of this legion after they were forced to face decimation for fleeing from battle against Spartacus. When charged with decimation, every tenth man in the legion is selected to be beaten to death by his own comrades. Caesar called them the Tenth so that they would not run again for the shame. The numbered legions followed after that.
Legio III will be made as soon as Italia is united so until then TCVs avatar will continue to serve in his respective legion or can come back to Roma and await the completion of his men's training.
I sort of like the number and region think it makes for good roleplay in the future like (Latiums legions bring glory to Roma! Or they can be named after a city if they are proposed that way as well.)
What ever you guys propose as a name will be voted on so ya this may be done. There is still a CA that shows how the legion must be named so you will have to vote on changing that too if you want to get this done.
Haha indeed, all in due time friend!
Same feelings here.
Yep it was the toughest form of discipline in the army, and was kept in force throughout the entire Roman era. It worked most of time; the thought of being killed by your own comrades (ranks were included) was enough to stop them running in battle.
Gah! Why does Ariminum have Type4 government??:inquisitive:
We can't build anything there and we can't recruit anyone from there as well!!
I think we needed something quick and cheap. It can be upgraded in the future when have a little more money to throw around.
EDIT: @ everyone - at least give us a screenshot of the victory scroll for the battle of Bononia.
yay. Bononia has been captured and the rest of the details for now are in my consul report, I'll post the battle report sometime later today; for now I'll just post a picture of the results. fortunately, the battle went better than how I tested it when I ran through it last week and it was a clear victory instead of a close one.
