Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
Ha! Funny you should say that; you who brings an armada north to threaten countries that have done you no harm.
Even my enemies I allow to start new lives on my very borders, when I could have enriched myself by destroying them completely. Do you see my ships roaming the seas like pirates? It is you who approaches the two war weary rivals like a wolf.
My intentions are not belligerent, nor do I carry ill will towards any. Can you not see my peaceful relations with the Illyrians? I am not going to start any more wars in this game, but woe upon he who declares war on me.
Or perhaps you want the Umbrians and Romans to look to the north with fear while you attack their cities?

Illyria shall soon run out of room, then shall be forced to upgrade them all from level 4 to level 5. Maybe disband some of my 8000 army as well.

Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
Hiero implores the Romans, Perugians, and Eperiotes to stop squabbling and unite in defense of civilisation agaisnt the Gauls to the north.

Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
Defence? Gaul has long been the ally of Illyria. Gaul has stated that he will not attack. Will you not believe him?

Rome will never accept peace with the Epirotes. This war has gone too long now for us to simply stop it.

Rise of Civilizations
Chapter VIII: The Beginning of Total War
Epeiros has marked a new descent of humanity as its leader ordered the razing of Circeii so it would not fall into enemy hands. The army that had just captured it marched north to Norcia, but did not attack or lay siege.
Two great armies have laid siege to the capital of Epeiros, Taras, and combined form a force greater than ever before seen in the world.
The Kendish forces manage to hold Tathari against Carthaginian assault, as a great army offloads itself from an armada and attacks. Between the two isles, Sardinian fleets combine and finish off the Kendish armada, and are joined later by the aramada from Carthage.
Across the world, other nations make preparations for war, readying armies and armadas.
Near the end of the season, ominous clouds gather, darkening the skies above Corsica. Lightning kills many a peasant, and people huddle in fear. A great booming voice scolds the King of Kender for scorning the gods and demands all righteous people punish these transgressors!

Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
A message to the Kingdom of Epirus!
How dare you have the gall to raze our most beloved City! My popel will not rest until every man, woman and child in that city is avenged and the people of Taras pay in blood! We will survive and carry on as we ever have. You shall not.
I ask of my Umbrian friends and allies to allow me to burn this city of Taras and to have the ppleasure of driving the cold, sharp sword into the guts of these Epirotes. They are less than human.
-
Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
If you Romans burn Taras, then I warn you that the fair city of Rome shall not stand long. We Greeks do not take kindly to Latin aggression.
Hiero II, King of Syracuse.
-
Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
Latin agression? LATIN AGRESSION!? How can an act of revenge be considered agression? We did not wish for this war, but now I can guarantee that we will prosecute it TO THE VERY END!

Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
Threats fly and diplomats(theroetically) are slaughtered

Re: Rise of Civilizations Part 2
This sucks...My enemies have joined forces against me. An by the way, CR, whats up with the lightningstorm? Funny, though, that there was a lighting storm here a couple hours ago. :gah2: :gah2: :gah2: :gah2: :gah2: :gah2: :gah2: :gah2: :gah2:
Hows this, Tran. Ill give you Tathari back on the condition that you and your buddy stop attacking me. I cant really do much, spent all of my limited funds on armies, which are now completely decimated, leaving me to gaze upon the smoke and ruins that is my "grand campaign" to get back at tran. But, I still have an ace up my sleeve, and will use it if necessary.

It's to signify the displeasure of the gods with your late turn. Didn't you read the chapter summary?

Hmm, my guess is that Venice is going to sweep down from the North like an angry plague, and consume all in its path. Just my prediction, anyways.
