I recognised that was the excuse, although the ex-communication occurred before the negotiations started and so it seems England were willing to accept London as a gift from a pariah of the Pope, but not complete their side of the bargain having obtained what they wanted.Quote:

There was no misunderstanding, the deal offered had already been agreed and accepted on your behalf by France, who at that time were supposedly your vassal lords. England having thrown itself under their mercy and protection to avoid annihilation.Quote:

As you can see, the original deal proposed by France was that I allow you to keep Nottingham. My feelings were that allowing you to remain in the game with only one castle was hardly fair and suggested the much better option of letting you have London back in return for Nottingham. The advantage being that both Scotland and England would gain an instant army out of the deal for use supporting Frances plans to invade the low countries, whilst London being a city would give England better income to support future expansion on the continent.Quote:
Hail, my gracious ally,
I confirm that William is now my vassal and thus your ally...
So I would ask you to stop waging war against him...
From what I know, London is yours already and York shall be soon...
Here is what I propose :
1/ Nottingham is to remain in English hands (OOC: otherwise the English faction might be destroyed and it would be sad to lose a player so early in game)
2/If not taken already, London and York will be given to you as a Gift (OOC:Thus gaining you troops instead of losing some in sieges and making your rep higher with England)
3/Ireland will be yours to conquer w/out English interference.
4/You will have military access through english land to go from York to London and back.
5/Further negociation could lead to an exchange of Nottingham for London.
6/I propose that once that matter is settled, we prepare joint attacks on the rebel towns of Bruges and Antwerp and do it so that the winner of the siege makes it a gift to the other party (OOC : so if I take Antwerp, I'll give it to you and on your taking Bruges, you'll give it to me we'll both gain troops for free this way)
I'll send an edited copy of this deal to William if you do agree... He is in no position to refuse as we could crush him in one turn between the two of us...
Know that he was true to his word and revealed to me the name of the would-be agressor...
Yours faithfully,
King Philippe
That deal was agreed with France on your behalf and you were instructed to comply with it as a vassal of Tristan. I completed my part of this deal by transferring London back into your control, providing you with your free army.
However, you refused to complete your part of the arrangement and ignoring your new obligations to France, you have chosen to use the troops raised to attack one of Frances allied states. Effectively, betraying your oath of fealty to the King Phillipe.
I really think the first page of this thread needs to be seriously updated...
Anyway, Poland's turn:

England's up:

Nothing of substance to report, except look at the size of Sicily! Impressive expansion.
:egypt:
Eh, how do you know the size of my lands? :inquisitive:
I only have 9 regions btw. They look huge though.
Territories section of the faction overview. Check out France and Germany while you're there. It's not hard to calculate the exact number given that you know your own place and the steps are so clearly delineated.
Now FH, I'm shocked you hadn't thought of that. Or that you're sandbagging me, which seems more likely.
:egypt:
Good god! You have 9 regions?Quote:

I started with 2 regions, 2 fleets and 3 generals.
Well that would appear to support Pizza Guys assertion that blitzers will dominate an MP game just as they do in SP.
Of course.
I normally only blitz in the first 10-15 turns to get a decent economic base before I take it slow though in SP. In MP, I'm not quite sure how it will go. You guys all expand much faster than the AI does and that leaves me with little room for expansion.
Blizt is only allowed because other players are rather quiet...
Blitzers over-extand themselves and are subject to counter-attacks from other players (most being afraid or unwilling to declare war...)
As for France blitzing, I was driven to do it by England's aggression but I'am now setting a much slower pace...
But FH can afford to blitz seeing as he is surrounded by AI factions and now that he's pretty powerful no-one is going to want to go all the way down to Sicily to take him on. One of the reasons I picked Russia is so I can just hide in the corner away from everyone's interests untill one day...
There are no corners to hide into for me... Too bad...
You can always go to Arguin or Timbuktu
Too long a trip... I can't bear plane flights... :clown:
FH's blitzing is impressive, and certainly not my usual style. I think having ready access to the mediterranean helped him in that regard.
As AtPG agreed to, blitzing in a MP game that has more than 2 players can only work if some of the other players allow it to work. A blitzer makes himself vulnerable to getting pounced on by other players.
Diplomacy is the key...
Depends on the type of blitzer you are. I blitz and occupy, not sack and promote growth before military.
But you can't defend everywhere at once. Like I said, it would take diplomacy to secure your rather large borders.
MP is much much different than SP.
My borders are small considering they are all small islands or a tiny region inside a large landmass. More like many satellites. Being allied to other blitzers of course is always useful

Ichigo's turn
Hello everyone. I was wondering, on the off chance a new wplayer is ever needed (i.e. if someone can't play any more), could I give it a shot? I'm having a blast with the Kingdoms games and am hoping to get into a grand campaign MP game sometime.
You'll be welcome, Zim...
You've come just a bit too late as Tran has taken over Denmark only last turn...
I don't know if anybody is on the verge of dropping out... I'm certainly not...
I'll check in from time to time to see if anyone ever does drop out for some reason.
In the meantime, I'm testing the waters to see if anyone is interested in another hotseat game.
I would... but I've not enough time already with the three I'm in...
The Grand Campaign one doesn't take me as much time as either the Crusades or Teutonic ones...
I can't even continue my AAR...
Drat, I would have tried to pick a faction that could ally with you so I'd have a chance of winning. ~;)
Turn complete and uploaded.
