*charges in the door* THE COWBOYS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an INTENSE game, the last 5 minutes had me standing up pacing around my room. It was really awesome even though Romo threw 4 interceptions, but thats okay because we WON!
now gimme a beer.
The Lions are my team, and yes it is a hard existence. :shame:
My brother loves the cowboys, so I usually bash them to get under his skin. :laugh4:
Greetings everybody,
as it seems to have been done in the first posts of this thread, i'll introduce myself.
My name is Gilles, french, very happy to see his favorite rugby team throwing the All Blacks out of the RWC... actually just releived we made it to the semi-finals :applause: and sure hope we send back the XV of the Rose across the Channel with our best regards
I am actually a Paradox game addict (Crusader Kings : Deus Vult, Europa Universalis III : Napoleon's Ambitions, Victoria : Revolutions). Never played RTW yet actually. But i should be joining the team to port Europa Barbarorum to the upcoming EU:Rome.
So i decided to come and pay you guys a visit.
Cheers ~
Welcome, bro.
Paradox, eh? I must admit that I have never played any of the aforementioned games.
So there that good eh?
Maybe I'll have to give some a whirl...
Well, enjoy the brews.
~

Well CivIII was my favorite game for about 3 years (until I discovered M:TW actually), so I can definitely relate. I even made my own Dragonlance mod. :2thumbsup:
Although I have held off on getting CIV because I don't know how into them I'll be able to get, after the awesome tactical aspect and acceptable strategic aspect of the TW series.

*a man with deep circles beneath his eyes saunters into the tavern*
"hey is happy hour over?"
The barkeep shakes his head no.
"Good, no Alcohol for me. give me a Mountain Dew. The perfect over caffinated Pepsi beverage."
*sip..sighs deeply*
"ahh that hits the spot"
"Whats the news in the tavern recently? hope i didnt miss much."
"Hey I know there is some American football fans here, anyone a Patriots fan."
I'm a fan of not liking the Pats....:laugh4:
Seriously though, the only NFL game I ever went to was New England at Detroit on Thanksgiving of 2000....the Pats won, and ruined my only NFL experience.
Ever since then, I've had something of a bad taste in my mouth for those bastards....oh well, it was fun yelling at Charlie Batch.
"Hey Snatch!!! You blow!!"
I didn't like the guy very much, if you can't tell.
I persoanlly apologize for the Pats ruining your NFL experiance but they cant help being really good (5-0 baby yeah !!!)
too bad Notre dame aint that good right now.
i'll have a singapore sling, barkeep.
I, for one, think the Cowboys are going to give the Pats a run for their money this sunday, A girl at my school has tickets to that game, She is SO LUCKY!
I think im going to mug her and steal the tickets tomarrow... :idea2:
nah.
just gimme some more beer and I prly wont care in a bit.
You could always try to smooze your way into making it a date. :laugh4:
Go for it!
*gets spoofa an ice cold brewski*
Give me a pint of ale. So how about those french- they owned all blacks- and the english! Way to go. I can't wait for the semifinals - now there is going to a Total War- England vs France. Anyone up for a friendly wager? My money goes for england - but the french are tough too. Anyway, for me , being neutral it's going to be even more agreeable. As for the other semi final, the South Africans will march right over Fiji:thumbsdown: . So i think it's going to be a South Africa vs England final. ( lets hope that the northern hemisphere will win:2thumbsup: )
It's kind of interesting to me that everyone is talking about football, but it's two different footballs from two different sides of the world, and both sides will forever proclaim their football is the best.
I really have no idea what's going on in the world of football (soccer to me, really), but I do know what's going on in the world of football. :dizzy2:
Its actually rugby that people are talking about not "soccer"
I guess you proved you really don't know whats going on in the world of soccer :2thumbsup:
We were talking about rugby. It's the World Cup right now, so that's why we all talk about it. Next year we will talk about football (soccer if you prefer-although it's a game in wich players use their feet mostly so it's much more football than the american version ), at least we the europeans because it's going to be the European Football Cup.

Forgive my ignorance. :2thumbsup:
I was happy to see Scotland make the Quarters and even more happy that Wales didn't...particularly as the Welshman in my office was being all smug and predicting Scotland would be beaten by Italy and Wales would make the semi's.....AHA see how smug slips so easily to the other foot :laugh4:
Mind you the Argentine I sit next to is reasonably happy...in fact we were all happy when they turned the French over.....except the French :2thumbsup:
Any one for a re-enactment of Agincourt in the Semi's
Not to be diferent, today my head seems about to blow with a mighty hangover. And I have to work in a few hours! Hurra!!!
Anyway, Rugby roles football (both kinds mind you) SUCKS! Go South Africa!!!
Cheers...

did someone say singapore sling? did you know it was really invented in my country? ^_^ it's singapore's most famous export after the sound blaster card that everyone has in their comps. Yer.
In raffles bar wasn't it? Although I believe theres a bit of a debate about the barman that actually invented it. Sorry I work in a hotel with a swanky cocktail(we actually sell the worlds most expensive) bar so some random knowledge has kinda seeped into my brain.Quote:

Know of any cocktails with swanky names that I could make that involve curacao and creme de menthe? I'm feeling like a cuppa.
*calls for a cocktail with creme de menthe and curacao*
Pass through a pint of ale and order a Hertog JanQuote:

South Africa won from Fiji last week it was a very nice game to watch thanks to Fiji you could even hear the sport reporter cheering for Fiji sometimes
Even though I don't think Argentina deserve to reach the Final of the World Cup, I hope they hammer South Africa. I really really hate South Africa! Just at rugby mind, I have no beef with the actual country.
Although, if they do manage to bully their way to the final with their boring thuggish rugby, I hope England (but more than likely France) put the uppity southern b@st@rds in their place!
Wow....I just realized how clueless Americans can really be sometimes. There is absolutely no mention of rugby on any of our newscasts, and the entire rest of the world is talking about it.
I still think american football is good shit. If you've ever seen some of the hits that those guys take, you would learn to respect it.
I actually think they're just dumb (I mean who the hell makes a living being made a ragdoll). Rugby players are much tougher :p (I feel a war looming I just read the botom of my glass and realised it is empty and it's time for another round).
BTW, France won to New Zealand with a forward pass! Even the French comenters said it was a forward pass (yeah I wanted New Zealand to win!)!
Cheers...
Well, I played football in school, and it is a rush when you bust through the hole and go all the way, and everyone is screaming and the girls are lifting their shirts....okay maybe not quite like that, but that's how I like to remember it. :laugh4:
