It's been done several times before, myself included; it's hella risky, but then that's the Xanatos Gambit for you.

I wouldn't consider it myself. I see no gain from doing it. Joking around, yeah, but not seriously. Xanatos Gambit?

Yeah. Lemme go through his posts.

Gotta go through to remind myself.

Ok, we already got the idea that you're Lady Gaga. The real question is, would she be evil? Certainly she'd be in the DJ's favour, I imagine.
From the Lady Gaga lyrics Secura was spewing, a reasonable conclusion to make. The last statement seems reasonable as well.

Is Believer one of The Killers?
In response to Believer posting lyrics. Again, nothing bad here.

Vote:Secura, you've a lot of questions to answer. For one, who are you? You've been lying to us so far.
His hypothesis proven wrong, he believes that the he was lied to. Again, a reasonable conclusion to make in my mind.
Quote:
Roger Daltrey, I presume?
I can't remember.
Quote:
Why lie though Secura, why pretend to be something you're not?
I could easily say we could just Let It Be, but I can also confirm, I am not Paul McCartney.
Honestly, nothing strikes me as out of place.

I think what we've got here is a scum, who implied to be something else, but either her or her buddy accidentally popped the very person she was imitating. You did not explicitly say anything, but let's face it, quoting lyrics, very much seems to be suggesting who you are, a la soft claim. That is why I am voting you, as you lead us down the garden path. Tell us who you really are, and I'll consider lifting my vote.
Pushes Secura again. Still believes that lyrics were a soft claim. (I do believe you were leading us down a garden path Secura.)
Quote:
Let's face it, if I had been quoting Johnny Cash lyrics, for example, obviously that would be the person you'd believe I am.
I'd probably have been throwing hints as to who I am, except for the fact I only know one song by him.
Pushes lyrics as a soft claim.

I just think Visorslash is wearing the crazy hat, and a sign saying "lynch me, lynch me", just so he can save someone else's skin.
Thinks Visor is scum, trying to save someone else. Was wrong, but not a bad conclusion.

Radiohead = Karma Police = Visorslash's role makes perfect sense.

Believes Visor's detective claim due to person. Votes the same person as Visor.

Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
Honestly, he's done nothing to make me think he's scum. I think he's town.

There's a fine line between saying absolutely nothing and saying enough to survive. Are you good enough?

Probably not. (Sorry for saying that though. I hear people saying that lurkers should be lynched, and you post just enough to stay alive. :P) Staying quiet isn't the way I am in something like this.

Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
Well Pizza claimed to be Mafia all the time during the Campground and, while he wasn't Mafia, none of the town knew this, still he wan't lynched so as Mafia he would've gotten by with it very well...
And it would have been a hell of a win if he were Mafia, I bet he still grudges that he wasn't ^^
So, it does work sometimes or it can work for your favour, even as Mafia
-
Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
He joked around that he was mafia. (As did I). Or at least that is how I see it anyway.
ATPG votes himself a lot though.
-
Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
Exactly, he did what you did and got away with it, so if he had been Mafia it would have worked... it's a risky strategy of course but it can work obviously...
-
Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
I took it too far. :P
Though claiming scum as a joke isn't too risky. Even if scum. I did it in atpg's game with diamond eye a couple of times.
-
Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
Well the thing is, I don't think it's ever worth doing as town... the chance the townies lynch you (and waste a lynch on you) just "to be safe" is too high.
-
Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
robbiecon's playing a largely conservative game; he's posting short questions and statements to maintain the appearance of involvement and he's remaining non-confrontational by keeping his accusations to a minimum unless there's already prior reasoning for a bandwagon vote (Day Two), otherwise throwing his vote on pointless targets (Day Three).
It actually reminds me of what I call the 'consummate townie', as I noted in Pizza's Murder Manor III game when YLC largely stayed under everyone's radar by playing in this manner.
As for being led down the garden path, all I can say now is get over it; my detractors inferred something from my post and were wrong in doing so. I had no intentions to mislead and I'll be reiterating that when my role is revealed when I die or when the game ends.

To be sure, nobody wants to be lynched as scum because they "jokingly" claimed to be scum in-thread.
But at the same time, you act too much like how a townie 'should' act, and people start to get suspicious of you for that- basically what Secura's case on robbiecon is right now.
Currently, no matter what my role is, I tend to say whatever I want in-thread regardless of possible town or mafia implications. If I act like I don't care about the outcome of the game, I find it helps to make me a bit more unreadable.
-
Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
Well but I do care what the outcome of the game is, regardless of me being Mafia or Town...
but as Andres demanded in ATPGs case in the Campground, most of the time people will lynch the guy claiming he's Mafia just because it would hurt too much if he was actually Mafia and the town lets him live...

FoS: Believer
Kicking the man when he's down, dead, and townie. Totally unnecessary and uncharacteristic of you in particular.

Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
And I wasn't lying. At least to my knowledge.
But you just drew a lot of suspiscion to yourself.

Re: Music Mafia [In Game]
Music Mafia
NIght three ends...
Chaotix was sitting alone, plinging his guitar, his coarse voice the only noise in the otherwise silent studio. He hardly noticed the
unknown figure sneaking up on him. Before he knew it, it had struck him over the head with its
weapon. He fell prone to the floor.

Tears in Heaven is good, rather a high price to pay for the inspiration to write it though.
