Also, I'm surprised you haven't reacted to Karl naming one of his kids Jan. I laughed my butt off when I first saw that. Can you imagine what it would be like to be that kid? He can't imagine why his Duke reacts in fits of rage when he hears his name. I think I found my next avatar... :laugh4:

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
I remember one time I peaked ahead and saw Siegfried had a son named Jan. Boy, *that* would have created some sparks.

That would have been..... awesome...
Watch Siegfried try to explain to Ansehelm why he named his son after Jan.
It would be even funnier if the eldest of Siegfried's kids was a son and named Jan. Duke Jan...
Oh that would have been priceless. It could happen in Austria too if Arnold has no kids and the elder Zirn kid dies. Jan, Duke of Austria. The irony is just too amusing.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
It saddens me beyond belief that no one has named their child "Heinrich" yet.
Taking the save now.

I think they're afraid they'll get excommunicated by the Pope if they do. :laugh4:

Just be happy you're not named Lothar. Whenever I think of him, I can't get the "Lothar of the Hill People" SNL skit out of my head.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Woohoo! My first Heroic Victory in KotR! It only took nine months. :laugh4:

Prisoners executed. Caen is still a hornet's nest.
In other news, I hate Aventuriers.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
No hard feelings, right Warmaster? I assure you that I do not share my character's sentiment regarding the French.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Very good writing as usual GH.
Btw, maybe you should put a link to your battle report ending to your story and the other way round. Make for a more coherent read.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Hah! No problem at all. It's all IC, I see.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Wow, Dietrich redefines the word "callous". Very good writing GH.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
GH, I see your still working out some "aggression issues" from playing Conrad. :D
Great story btw.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Thanks guys.
Okay, so I played through the rest of the AI movements and...

Let me review the recent postings and I'll take back the save.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Before I post an official report, I thought I'd tell the Franconians that the Teutons want to build a Chapter House in Vilnius. I've put off the decision until I hear from them, but I'm not sure how long I can keep the window reduced, so I need to hear from them soon. Build or not? We've got money to burn at the moment, so that's not the issue, but it depends on how long you guys are planning on staying. Let me know, otherwise I'll default to build.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
I got no say in this at the moment but it seems that there is talk of leaving Vilnius. I'd rather hear it from them though.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
I need a decision on that Chapter House, yea or nay? As we no longer have money to burn, I'll now default to nay.
gibsonetc., you're the man on the scene. Give me an answer.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
OK, I think gibsonsg is going to abandon Vilnius with this msg
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showp...&postcount=412
So you should be safe to reject the chapter house.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Hmmm, I get your point, not hard to read between the lines. :laugh4:

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Well, I've added a report for the first two battles of Edmund Becker. The battles aren't much, but I did manage to add some nice character development at the beginning.

I agree with you GH; Aventuriers are cavalry killers.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
1294 has passed without any signifigant battles outside my control. Expect an update shortly, and then onto 1296.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
The updated report for 1294 is up. It was an interesting year, one of my more active as Chancellor.

I will proceed to 1296 shortly.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Hey OK,
Nice work there fella. I'm impressed with the macro management skills you possess.
-
Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Thanks AG, if we're going to jump off a cliff, I may as well get us as high up as possible. :2thumbsup:
1294-1296 were good years, I hadn't felt that much on my game since I was killing Popes and blackmailing Cardinals back as Otto. Good times.

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Mate, get is so far up there we'll need oxygen and parachutes just to land safely.
It's going to be a hell of a ride :)
Thanks for playing Arnold's battles. He must be a real handful now with all that dread.
Does it actually make a difference?

Re: King of the Romans OOC thread XII
Usually does when the enemy captain is out of play. Then you can just ride up to the enemy, engage them, and they'll rout (unless there are a lot more of them and they got 9+ morale points)
