BKB Super Mod Version 1.0
ok thankyou very much, ill just wait to see if it works.
Update on my People of Novgorod game. Right now I am playing somewhat conservatively and have Novgorod, Finland, Muscovy, Livonia and Prussia. It is 1130 and the Teutonic Knights are gone, HRE is gone, the Poles, Danes, Norse and Hungarians have cleaned them out. In England, The Welsh hold Wales and Northumbria and the Scots have Scotland and Wessex while the English have the rest. All of the English continental holding s have been taken by the Navarese and the Norse (the dominant power in Northern Europe). I haven't been watching much in the Med area and no one seems to be expanding into the steppes, the Byz have just taken Kiev though. The Norse are beasts, they have all of Scandinavia (except Finland) a big chunck of land alng the North Sea, Iceland, Ireland, Most of the English continental holdings and Portugal and 2 other Iberian provinces. Spain is divided among the Navarese, Norse Spanish and Almoravids. It has been a very busy few years. I just have enough of a trade empire to afford a couple of extra units. Great overall mod. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif
I got the same thing the first time I downloaded, what happens is the download got interrupted and it thought it was complete. Use a download manager if it doesnt work again.Quote:

I like the way that the Russian steppes and Asia Minor is going. There are still plenty of rebel provinces, Novgorod seems content to sit still, the Cumans still have their starting provinces but have been trying to take Kiev (I love those Cuman troop types). In Asia Minor the Byzantines haven't really done anything but the Armenians have taken Rum from the Turks and the Egyptians have taken Syria, Edessa, and Lesser Armenia. However, the Turks are holding their own and have taken Antioch, and still have Nicaea and Anatolia.
At the moment my Kievan Grand Prince is broke http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...hogunshame.gif .
Well I try to play German HRE atm... with the weight on try
in the year 1089 English troops stand in Friesland any game i start and I cant get enough troops there to avoid it.
The problem isnt the english i can deal with them, btw why they got 100 Norman footknights?:P, the problem is i need to divert most troops to deal with those elite units and my friendly neighbours arent to friendly...
Poland and Hungary find my land very tasty...
Bug (I guess) Startpos: superearly, Northumbria, NormanFootKnights 100
should be 40?
My old normal MTW single player campaigns are still there, If I play one will only those units be in play or will your newer units for those original MTW factions be in it aswell? I notice the unit prod is still there as your has a different name so I could see my old MTW campaigns running as normal w/o your additions? maybe ya missed this one punk hehehe j/w
Its no bug, i think the english need this unit in early
Minikiller, my units will not be in your normal game
WOW.
This mod is amazing.
Thank you very much BKB for creating such an entertaining mod.
However I have noticed a few tiny graphics bugs like knights of st thomas of acre floating above their horses and bulgarian h cav's maces not being correctly sized in the low res animation bif. Im writing them down as i go along. Apart from that everything seems to run perfectly.
Right now im trying to play as the scots. It was a bit of a stuggle simply breaking even with florin flow but after i had driven the English down into Mercia with a mercenary army the cashflow problem was ok. Currently the English no longer reside in England as they have been crush but the welsh to the West ,Me (scots) to the north , Irish by Sea and French from the South.
I to think there are tooo many enemies for the english, but it is difficult to balance the nations in such a way that they all are capable of creating an attacking force yet don't annahilate the English.
Perhaps removing the channel land bridge might help, or placing more troops in Wessex.
I'm the Norse, have taken all of Scandinavia, Saxony and Livonia. The English was crushed pretty fast, but has now emerged and holds Northumbia and York. France and Egyptians are the two powers. France has all of southern England and whole France. The Egyptians has all of Africa southern spain and their homelands.
BTW: What factions can build Estonian Infantry, and what buildings does the unit require?
Maybe the English could have lots and lots of troops to begin with (they already have a lot anyway)? Or perhaps one or two of the new nearby factions could be removed thus turning them into rebels? Irish and/or Welsh maybe? I'm very far away from the battlefields of western Europe at the moment so I can't really comment on this too much.
Looks like the success of the English in my game was a bit of a fluke then. I had to stop my observation game cos the someone dared attack my Papacy.
A lot of people have already said it and I have to agree the Norse are very strong - like a disease them seem to get everywhere. I was a bit surprised in my game when 1142 they captured Constantinople for a while. Maybe they just wanted to know what happened to all the migrated vikings. Should give the Varangian guard plenty of new recruits.
France are strong too. Navarre expanded a lot. Egypt lost quite a lot of territory due to a civil war (first time I've ever seen an Islamic civil war in MTW). Byzantines stayed about the same. The eastern factions are playing defensive even though theres plenty of rebel room for expansion.
I'll rectify this probs.
short note..all homeland glorygoals are totaly messed up.
Might be why the english want northern germany so bad.
The problem with the english is not its military power...england has lots of troops at start, the AI doesnt do what a player would do and secure countrys for less borders.
would any of us attack friesland if u got the power to take wales? hell no..but the english AI does it. Not much we can do about it.
the english need a unit of NormanFoodKnights with 100 size?Quote:

I see them being ripped apart and that unit is based in northumbria for protection against scottish raids. I have seen england survive and do well, i think it depends on what faction you are
I wish I could have played it yet, but I'm still modifying the game (I'm a perfectionist). I'm doubling all unit size, put the cool units from high into early (getting rid of peasants, etc.). I should be done in time to play it tonight... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...c-computer.gif
I am glad that the glory goals are actually there. I like to play GA all the time as I find the total domination aspect a bit boring after a while. But I'll be doing domination until the GA goals are sorted out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...-2thumbsup.gif .
Hopefully the English have had a bad time in this game but won't in others. The HRE haven't disappeared yet and that's a first I love how Eastern Europe and Asia Minor has turned out. I think the Turks are practically dead but it'll be interesting to see how the Armenians will influence events. They look like a really cool faction - like what Aragon is to the Spanish.
I do the search but I dont know what lines to adjuts or anything, I can open High (gnome editor) no prob but not early, could u please copy/paste the section I need to fix?Quote:

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Great to see such a response. Don't worry you're feedback is very helpful.
Regarding England - I know they have problems. But I have tried absolutely everything. Weakened neighbours, gave them more units, new exclusive units, more buildings, new provinces, more money, the land bridge to Normandy from Wessex in Early, more heirs, new faction titles, better regional titles and even tinkered with their behaviour. Any recommendations would really have to offer something new. Do you guys like me feel that they have more problems in Early than in High?
Well I still cant figure out that whole thing lol
Erm well Giving them bigger titles is a tuff call because when other capture their provinces they now get the big title bonus and thus possible are given the advantage in over powering England. Have them start with more troops of higher class or have them ready to build more powerful units faster.

and...it works, thanks I appricate it. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg.../gc-jester.gif
The English are easier in High, I think, but it's fine to keep them as they are. Whoever suggested taking away one of the British factions, no way, the point of this mod is more factions not less http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/rolleyes.gif
In Late they'll definitely be a power - no Welsh, and although Ireland are there they won't do much. Again, they'll have Gascony, which they seem to like. Maybe they'll go for the Balearics Also, the Flemish, the Swiss and the Burgundians will counterbalance any attempts for French dominance.
They'll be a real focus on the eastern side of the map however - Lithuanians, Serbians and Wallachians, plus a playable Golden Horde. And then you have the focus of new provinces in that region - Ruthenia, Corinthia, Moravia, Samogitia, Bosnia, Epirus and Thessaly. Things should get very entertaining.
Yes yes I agree never take out factions...thats just sumthing u arent supposed to do http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gifQuote:

Damn man... I have a 56k. My internet disconnected beforei t was done.. I WANT IT
I played english in early and i had plenty troops to conquer wales, scotland and france...in no time (10 to 20 years ). If the english is weak its because AI cant handle it... sadlyQuote:

Dude this is so phat so far. I'm the Valacians (spl) in Early and took on 2 in the high. Tetunic Knights and Crusder States. Awsome troops man. My rule with them is taht I can only appoint generals of religious order (Tetunic units/ Order units) and can only appoint titles with gen. bonus to them (all others can go toa ny horse unit) I did the whole discouraged gen thing for everyone I love working em up my self. :)
I'm getting no portraits found for this type for the generals of every muslim factions. Basically the general portrait in the unit info panel is blackened. Anyone else getting the same thing?
The western factions seem to be OK.
I made a copy of MTW using medmod and than installing the BKB on top. Could that be the problem?
Thanks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif
Yes, ive had the same problem, but it doesnt really matter because the rest of this mod makes up for it and then some.Quote:

Remove all ships for the Irishmen and do a land bridge between Ireland and Wales. Normally I hate all kinds of land bridges but this would probably make the Irish and Welsh busy with each other for a while.Quote:

However, I would like to make some observations if you don't mind. These are really minor things and probably most people wouldn't care about them. Plus I feel like a real #$%@hole for bringing problems up already.
All these have to do with Hungary.
1) How come you changed the borders of Hungary. They were historically accurate in the original game. (I mean the general shape and size of the country)
2) How come you made Croatia an independent kingdom? (could have done that to Serbia maybe?)
3) I feel some of the unique Hungarian units shouldn't be used with other factions. For instance, both Jobbagy and Szekely are uniquely Hungarian because they are actually Hungarian words. Jobbagy simply means serf, thus Serbs having Jobbagy is a little unusual. Same with Szekely, the word actually is the name of a Hungarian ethnic group, thus it is impossible for cumans to have them. It would be like giving English longbowman to France or Spain.
4) Just ideas, I know it's too late now to produce a wish list and you're probably too busy with other mods, but it would have been so cool to rectify some of the mistakes regarding Hungarian units in the original game, just to make it more historically accurate. Like the jobbagy for instance, what the heck are they, they shouldn't even exist If you're interested I could give you examples though
Once again, your mod is great, and these observations I made are meant to be constructive not negative Thanks.
1) An honest mistake. I was using the LukMapMaker to add provinces and I had to redraw the ENTIRE map. Therefore if some provinces don't look the way you remember them I'm very sorry, but it's very difficult to replicate that. Still they all have the same borders, and that is the main thing.Quote:
2) As far as I'm aware Croatia were independent in early. Serbia are now only in Late because that is when they were very much independent. Technically speaking they could have been in high, but I wanted to give other factions a chance.
3) Not being too aware of the units I felt other Balkans factions may have them. Now knowing this, I will change it for the final release.
4) Hungarian Foot Knights will be in late. Unit space is tight so I'm not sure about changing the original units at this point - seems a waste of time. They may also get a heavy cavalry unit - I feel as though I've neglected them up to this point.
Not a bad idea - maybe do a land bridge between Scotland and Ireland too? Hopefully the Celts will destroy each other and let the English get on with bigger things http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg.../gc-jester.gifQuote:

I'll look into the Muslim portraits issue right away.
The only two problems I've encountered so far are the issues with portraits. I right-clicked on my Orthodox priest and it froze. Also the game froze suddenly once the AI had done its moves and I was ready to begin another year. So I pressed enter and a marriage proposal came from the Almohads with a princess without a portrait (or just a single small square.)
No big deal because I'm still playing and I'm still having a heck of a lot of fun http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ons/barrel.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...evalcheers.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg.../gc-jester.gif .
The Muslim princess portraits is a problem which shouldn't arise. For some reason the game assigns them one and I can't control it. I might just stick a Catholic princess portrait in to stop it from freezing.
The other portraits are more annoying - they should work fine but I'll have a look at the install. If incorrect, this will be amended for the Late release. A patch as this stage would be pointless.
Besides the no portrait found issues, some quick questions as this is my first time playing the BKB mod (looks great so far http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...evalcheers.gif ):
- is there a tech tree or some sort of descriptions of each faction and what units they get?
- if we started in HIGH era, will there be LATE-only units?
http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif
I'm afraid faction descriptions seems impossible, and a tech tree, although nice, would surely take too longer to do. As for your second question, no I'm afraid there aren't. Won't be too long before your duking it out with Landsknects, Gothic Men At Arms and English Foot Knights however. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...-2thumbsup.gifQuote:

Can someone knowledgeable on the subject take a look into the 'campmap/portraits' folder and tell me if the following is present?
Two new folders:
SuperModEarly
SuperModHigh
In each folder there should be 5 sub-folders:
Catholic
Muslim
Orthodox
Pagan
Vikings
In 'Vikings' there should be two more important ones:
Pagan2
Vikings (again)
In 'Muslim', do you guys have a 'General' folder with portraits within?
In 'Orthodox', do you guys have a 'Priest' folder with portraits in?
If so, I'm well and truly stumped http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/gc-help.gif
BKB,
in the D:\Games\Medieval - Total War BKB\campmap\Portraits\SuperModHigh\Vikings\Muslim\General there was GENERAL01.TGA
That is it. Is this the location where the game is looking for the muslim general portrait? Why is it \Vikings\Muslim and not \Muslim directly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/confused.gif
I tried copying the 251 general###.tga from the other muslim folder and renaming them to GENERAL###.TGA so now I have GENERAL01.TGA to GENERAL251.TGA but it still doesnt work http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/mecry.gif
sorry i was talking about the super mod normal muslim general folder, not the one in vikings.
There are 251 GENERAL###.TGA in ...\campmap\Portraits\SuperModHigh\Muslim\General
Still doesnt work (also the Golden Hordes portraits arent working either)...
I check with an image viewer program and I can see all their portraits.
I give up http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/mecry.gif
I'm just gonna go ahead and play non-muslim factions (like the Bulgar http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/idea.gif ).
BKB have you ever thought of having Constantinople as one of those rebellious provinces like Portugal, Livonia etc? This could then force the Byzantines to at least garrison the greatest city in the world with more men than they usually do - or maybe it'll just result in the Byzantines being kicked out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif .
I'm only into my second decade as King of England, but I thought I'd let you know how it is going.
With the extra troops, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany and Flanders fell quickly... and fairly easily.
The Navaresse and Aragon have allied along with France and GHRE, as seems to be the trend in the majority of my super early campaigns... leaving Anjou, Aquitaine and Gascony as a violent frontier. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/cool.gif
As I'm building an ivasion force to attack the French Royal remnant in Champagne, the Norse attack Scotland. After beating them back, my position is looking precarious to say the least.
French, Aragonese and Navaresse armies mass in the south intent on storming Gascony, and the previously penned in French Royalist army in Champagne has grown to over 1500 troops. My forces split and outnumbered, I'm now holding back the tide rather than engaging in conquest.
Lets hope the Germans leave me alone http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/gc-smile.gif
There are only a few minor imperfections I have come across so far... and some of those may be intentional... or beyond your control.
The port in York... it is graphically placed on the east coast (as it should be), however for purposes of transporting troops/trade etc, it is actually on the WEST coast. This may not have been noticed since English players usually have the whole British Isles protected by ship. I only noticed myself due to my ship in that coastal region paying an increased upkeep, despite the friendly port of York being there.
I then realised I was able to transport troops from York to Ireland, with nothing more than a ship in the Irish Sea.
I'm having trouble finding an ally... even those who share a common enemy don't want an allegiance with me. The AI doesn't seem to have a problem with that though.
The only other thing is that after those initial conquests and subsequent casualties, it is 20+ years before you can build any decent troops or replenish units. This may be as intended... but I thought it worth mentioning that it's just a little sad when your Normans are gone, and you're replacing them with Feudal MAA's and mounted sergeants (if you're lucky). Maybe have a single province that can build Normans? Just a thought.
Thanks again for the fantastic mod... and for the autoinstaller
http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...evalcheers.gif
The York port thing sounds weird and I'm not sure I can do anything about it, and the allies are completely random. Not a bad idea with the last one - maybe Wessex or Normandy in Early can build the Norman units? Could help out old Blighty.
I noticed something in Superearly, the Polish Kings/Princes get LateRoyalKnights instead of EarlyRoyalKnights...though the Royal_court only produces early...
guess i have a look into the crusader file maybe i find the problem.
Super early Crusader txt looks just as it should be(at least for me) and i cant explain why they got late RKs...
That's very odd. If anyone comes up with an explanation please say so
I've run a few test games and I find England fare much better in High than Early. Having a bit more infrastructure seems to give them a better base to fight from. I agree that upping the regional titles does no good on the grounds that when captured the advantage turns against them. Another thing I've noticed doesn't work is increasing the province income or giving more trade goods. These are like magnets especially to trader nations.
-Perhaps a few more good English command heroes might help or improving existing ones.
-Better castles? The Normans built something like 500 castles of various degrees accross their conquered kingdom.
-Some kind of Norman Infantry or Saxon Infantry unit available in early might help, that would be exclusive to the English, fairly cheap to build and easily accesible. Preferably 100 man unit. Would give them that early edge like Byzantine Infantry do for the Byzantines.
-Could make the borders more tricky between the home nations. Wales and Wessex should definately have a river if it doesn't already (Severn) and perhaps some mountains between England and Scotland. I've seen some legendary defences of Granada because the border from Cordoba is so hard.
-English have too many units at the start of the game (Early) and this could be why the computer struggles but players don't. Even after giving my titles to the best acumen candidates I was still -810 projected proffits. The computer seems to respond to this by getting rid a lot of its better troops rather than invading to boost income.
Sorry that seemed more like a complaint list than a wish list. I'm loving the mod understand? Playing as the Turks for the first time ever. Its.... challenging but theres a lot of cavalry to be had I see. Lots of fun.
No you make some very good points, particularly the ones about the borders. I was thinking of making some sort of 'Northern Militia', exclusive to York and Northumbria, which would be cheap yet effective.
I thing i want to make clear...THIS IS A AWESOME MOD... and i am far from complaining http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
If i name errors or things i think are wrong i post them to make it even better http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ons/smokin.gif
As for the english in early, troops arent the trouble but did u notice the income is negative at start? that means the AI is after money, long way >build up, short way> conquer.
I guess scotland and wales arent very rich and therefor 2nd rank targets.
If the english had some more income thing might go a other way.
Troops...I mean hey English has some good spearman in early the best in the north, Frydmen (sp?)
I dont think the english need more good troops early on, just more income.
I dont have one...atmQuote:

i was just playing last night as the byzantines and i was getting some wierd black sea bug. I couldn't move any ships from the marmara into the black sea, and when i wanted to move troops by ship to any coastal region in the black sea from anywhere, it acted like i didn't have ships there, but i did have ships there, and i was getting trade income to. maybe it was just something that happened to me.
Bugger, think i missed that. I was playing today with russia in high and found that little bug as well. Patch might well be on the way http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif
Update on my early Novgorod game, It is almost 1200 and the Pope has the Italian Penninsula, the Balkans and Constantinople. The ARMENIANS have killed the Turks and have from Nicea to Georgia and down into Syria where the Egyptians take over. The Spanish have taken into N. Africa and killed the Almoravids. The Byzantines are restricted to Vohylnia and Poland. The Norse have England, Northern and Western France and all of Scandinavia and are starting to attack my frontiers. I am sitting in Novgorod, Muscovy, Livonia, Lithuania, Finland and Prussia and Pomerania. I spent the first part of the game building up trade and currently make about 2500 per turn, Russia is fairly poor. I have little bitty armies based around cavalry and a few voi and rus spearmen. I am a bit afraid of the Norse though. England, All Germanic factions, Irish, Almoravid, Turk, Aragonese, Navarese are all gone and Denmark, Scotland, Genoa, Venetians and Sicilians are down to 1 province each. The Cumans, Hungarians, and Kievans are doing OK but have all been pushed into the steppes. The Poles are in Western Germany. It has been a great battle so far just to get to where I am, I have to say again , GREAT MOD except for no portraits for the muslim princesses.
Is everyone having the problem with the muslim general portraits?
Nice job BKB =D
if i find something a talk with you m8
This mod's great It is 1196 AD and the Egyptians are on the verge of wiping out the Byzantines. They have taken Constantinople and are besieging Thessaly and Epirus. It is really feeling like the time when the Ottomans stormed through Europe in the 15th century. The Poles have started a crusade against Constantinople, Byzantine loyalists have risen up in Epirus, and to make matters even more interesting the Bohemians have reappeared nearby There is also a Norse crusade against Trebizond.

I've found another odd sea related bug.
There appears to be something wrong with The English Channel, or the adjoining sea regions.
I have a ship in every area of sea from Denmark to the Spanish Coast, and also a port in every province. However, when I try to move units from Wessex, it only lets me move them to either Normandy or Flanders. (btw I'm trying to move them to my own provinces, not invading).
There are a few other ships in the regions, but they are all from neutral factions, and the tooltip also agrees that they are neutral waters.
The strangest thing is that I can move units FROM Gascony to Wessex, just not from Wessex to Gascony.
I also can't seem to forge a trade link between my mainland European provinces and my British Isles/Iceland provinces. Maybe it is the same issue.
I'll continue my testing. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
when i was playing as teh danes in high i was having trouble trading with the provinces in england too, but like 10 turns later the problem disappeared and i could trade fine again
http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/gc-wall.gif I'm so frustrated. I still haven't been able to play a game. After finally perfecting the unit prods/starpositions, I can play, but it ctds when I try and fight a battle. So now I'm doing a fresh install MTW, and try it all again. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/mecry.gif
Oh one thing: could you build up more of the provinces? I mean... no offense but even in early, it's not like it the dark ages, and each place should have at least a fort... but whatever.
BKB,
I redid a fresh install of MTW and then your mod. The muslim general portrait problem solved http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif

Hi BKB
Thanks for your response. I guess Hungarian foot knights would be cool in high and late, but as far as I know the Hungarians excelled at cavalry. A medium/heavy cav, something similar to avar nobles in early would be accurate, followed by hungarian mounted knights in high and late. As far as light/medium cav, something like Hungarian Hussars would be awesome in high and late. The szekely cav is fairly accurate as mounted archers for all periods. Also to add more flavour to the region, I reckon Serbs should have a serbian Gussar (or Hussar)light cav.
For infantry, jobbagy are a silly unit, I reckon composite archers on foot would be a better Hungarian unit, and for high, some sort of a Hungarian halbardier unit maybe.
As far as Croatia, the Hungarians aquired it in the mid 11th century as far as I know, and for a 1000 years after that it was part of Hungary. They were given a fair bit of freedom, so it was almost like a country in its own, but it was not an independant state. On the other hand Serbia was independant.
Croats also made excellent heavy infantry, both spear and sword, perhaps if there isn't one already (I just haven't noticed) it would be accurate to make some of those even for high and late.
That's all, if you could take any of that on board for the next update, that would be great. If you don't, oh well, your mod already kicks ass
Oh yeah, just one more thing: the map of the region. I understand that it is hard to make it right, but it just breaks my heart. Hungary was a pretty big country back in those days and it only got mutilated after world war 1. The starting map you made for it actually reminds me of what it looked like for a couple of years during world war 2 when the northern half of transylvania was temporarily given back to hungary. So the way it is now is quite inaccurate If it's too hard to correct it though, don't worry about it.
Cheers
How about Knights of the Banderium for High and late knights and the Militia Portalis as the Bowmen (historically correct I think) or Szeckly/Transylvannian archers could be a tougher option. Those are some of the units I've created for the Hungarians. I also had Saxon foot levies Apparently Saxon immigrants traders provided much of the infantry for the Hungarians in the 13th-15th century.Perhaps Rac Horsemen could be the medium cavalry your after, to combat those Serbian Gusars(robbers). And some Armati as your Halbardier units or Clipeati if possible (but re-creating there huge pavises could be a little difficult). Just a few suggestions. Although you probably know more about that than me.Quote:

I'm pretty sure every province does have at least a port, most have castles. I don't just add buildings for the hell of it, but carefully see what factions need it and in what provinces. That determines the way I distribute the buildings.Quote:

Unit space is limited, and I'm fast running out of BIF folders to draw in new stuff. Serbians will probably get a good infantry unit, and the Wallachians will have three new units (Wallachian Archers, Wallachian Horse Archers and Order of the Dragon). Bar that I consider myself done with that area.
Well, I don't claim to be an expert, but I do know a little. You're right about Saxons, in fact, probably up to 14th century, most infantry were made up of foreigners, except archers maybe. As I said before, Hungarians were good at most types of cavalry though.
Rac horseman won't do against Serbians, because Rac actually means Serbian in the Hungarian language http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
Croatian and hungarian kingdoms were united in 1091 but not fully effective until 1102.
Serbia was split into two kingdoms zeta which was backward and free and raska which was stronger but under byzantine domination. It wasn't until 1172 that these kingdoms united under Stephen Nemanja.
