In WotB we started with AS that already had over 20 provinces and thus it was possible to move your avatar to where ever you wanted. But here at the moment.. well.. you can cross the Republic from one border to another in one season and it's not funny to do that over and over again! :beam:

You don't have to post in the Reports thread if you just 'watch' and don't 'touch'. Posting 'Taking the save' only because you want to watch might take away the chance that someone else who wants to move his avatar can take the save.

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
^^^ya this is obvious, as said many times before, with expansion, and with new legions everyone will get a chance to fight, govern, etc. I think the funnest part will be the Punic Wars and taking the Illyrian parts of the Epeirote Empire. I can just imagine the panic will be in rushing into Sicilia and Illyria its going to be great. Sadly I also foresee our first in-combat deaths.
@Ibn: We just got reacquainted with that in WoTB ey? So sad poor poor nikanor...poor poor Parthian Army.

I would say poor Roka actually! It's his second character who have died by enemies hands!! :beam:
Also, I suggest that when ever you think that you can't take the save to fight some battles then you should make a SOT post that allows Consuls to move your avatars away from the fight or this what happened in WotB will happen here as well.

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
Actually, thats a very good point...I hope everyone will take note! And ya hehe Roka:sweatdrop:. He's been very inactive lately though. :juggle2:

Moving a character requires a save, no?

When you actually read what the legionarys were able to do (An example :Caesars gallic legions could force march themselves 50 miles with over 60lb of equipment and still construct a fortified camp at the end of the day) they can be compared more to the special forces of the U.S army then just regular army. They were some tough motherfuckers.

Yes careful, don wanna hear complaints from mods, and as i mentioned the last time someone swore, I dont care how old everyone playing this is, but there may always be young'ns.
Also due to the fact i have class for 4 hours today, ill be taking the save at 15:30 PACIFIC so you guys can keep the game going and what not. Otherwise it wont be till 2morrow. Plus i think im the only move, the battle that is.

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
Nice to see this has really taken off guys, must admit I had my doubts it would work. Wish Steam made it easier to have more that one copy of RTW running...

o thats a bummer, id like to have you join up :2thumbsup:
you know, I completely blame the AI for Asina's death:sweatdrop:. His unit plowed deep into Conans bodyguard and did major damage, but it just kept pushing and ended up sort of on its own. Seconds after i flanked the unit surrounding it was too late i guess. That was a tough battle indeed.
Ill have some new avatars for you soon everyone.

Yes, you're absolutely right. Especially if you consider that they were only 160 cm on the average! They still would beat up US or anyone elses Speacial Forces' arses if equipped equally ^^

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
I really have to stop going to bed. Everytime I wake up and go on here the worlds flipped upside down. Sorry for your loss Everyone, if thats even possible seeing as it was your own death :dizzy2:.
I'll have to put aside my school work to do some stories I think.
Oh, and Il_Duce, I believe it was Legatus Cotta that pulled Asina's body away from the fighting, thank you very much :2thumbsup:
-
Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
actually, somehow the loss of Asina made me kept swearing and yelling at every random thing I saw for the past hour (fortunately I was at home), until I decided to play out the battle again to relieve my anger to see another result, this time with some objectives in mind:
1) immediately pull generals whose bodyguard are less than 5 men out of combat
2) combine both Legio I and II for the assault
3) do not let either army be controlled by the AI
4) start the battle as navarro did so from the campaign map (fight using Legio II, and Legio I as reinforcements)
and here is the result:

https://i246.photobucket.com/albums/...ingaz/0086.jpg
Conan died very early in the battle, as I was rushing through the broken gate. as usual, I made the cavalry go through a breach in the wall. since the infantry force was getting cut up very quickly on all sides (yes, on all three sides); I made the cavalry charge into a Gaeroas from its behind, causing it to rout; and since Conan was dead by then, the other units (many of them, around 3 ligurian infantry+brihentin+2 gaeroas+a few botroas+1 liguriae epos) routed in the massive charge; and the only other difficult part was the gaesatae which I managed to kill quickly by making the accensi move a large round around the settlement to the gaesatae's back, and pelt the gaesatae while they are engaged in melee.
if you want, here is the save (though I don't think I'm authorised to do so, I badly want to play as asina again :shame:) :

Hey man, you control the army. Gotta give the little guy some glory.

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
Wait.. it's unclear to me who fought the battle. If it was navarro then it's against the rules since he should have send the save to everyone. Or am I missing something??

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
well, Blasio was in the battle (but not appearing as the commander), but I'm not sure who navarro was playing as (denatus/blasio?); and technically Legio II was still led by Cotta and Legio I by Asina when the battle took place. so I'm not sure (and I really do hope Asina could survive but that probably wouldn't be possible asdf)

Re: BtSH-OOC Thread and Chatroom
well, if the wrong player fought the battle, it must be refought. But the rules say, that if the Leader of the Army is not available, the second in command fights the battle, and if he's not available its the third in commands turn. Finally thats the reason, why there is a 2nd and 3rd in command. Only a player, whose avatar is not in one of the attacking armies CANNOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES fight the battle.
