No, actually, I'm genuinely puzzled at where tratorix revealed that he was mafia.

Beaten by my own words, man this is embarrassing.
Certainly not, and despite his great nose for mafia he can be wrong sometimes...
So knowing sasaki don't you think he would ensured i was an innocent using methods available to him as townie group leader ?
Yes and we have 2 claimed consuls, but no more
Wasn't Chaotix confirmed scum (or didn't he say himself that he was scum somewhere)?
From what i have read he seemed to have a nuetral role, you'll notice his little rant after he died 'last time i try and help the town' or something to that effect.
He was a roleblocker, i think others can confirm this, he roleblocked me two nights running whilst the mafia maintained thier level of kills, and posted in the thread saying so...
Maybe Sasaki has reasons to believe you're innocent, but your explanations don't clear you entirely as far as I'm concerned.
Town should not make the mistake of letting a so-called confirmed innocent off the hook for the rest of the game.
I realise what i have presented isn't a slam dunk case, but i think its fairly close, there are other ways my innocence has been proven but i can't really share that information.... as much as that sucks it is for the good of the town...
So I'm target for attack tonight?
What reasons justify this attack?
The process of elimination my friend.
Ugh... there's no way to prove my innocence then eh?
I'm going to be killing if I produce no results, and I won't produce results if I know i'm going to be killed...
Guess it's my time to go. *shrug*
Ignoramus has the ability to switch faction; maybe others have/had it as well and used it.
@LittleGrizzly: well, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but if the game continues after the elimination of all suspects, we'll have to look into your case again. Who was the other consul? Or is that classified information?
Damn Big post all gone!!
Firstly sorry split, as i said in pm... your on the list and we need to work on the list, because of other actions there wasn't exactly much choice...
When the republic is restored your sacrifice shall be honoured with a grand statueI shall demand itI shall propose a motion on it
If you do turn out to be guilty i think im going to be more annoyed with with all the apologising and guilt...
Who was the other consul? Or is that classified information?
I don't know and I don't know TBH. Thinking on it where i said we had 2 claimed consuls was actually an assumption on my part... i assume sasaki would have been alot more suspicious...
Actually isn't that why i nearly got lynched... i think there may have been more than 2 consul claims... the rest of my case is still pretty strong though...
Night X is over, etc.
“Few men desire liberty: The majority are satisfied with a just master.”
- Gaius Sallustius Crispus
https://img200.imageshack.us/img200/5923/imagem24.jpg
The large group of men moved through the city cautiously, through back streets and alleyways. As they approached their target, they slowed down and eventually halted. There before them was a large and impressive villa. A high wall encircled it, but light was blazing forth from behind the barrier. The occupants were awake. The four leaders of the mob huddled together, discussing what to do, when a shout startled them.
“Come on, come on!” A man was standing at the main gate of the villa, waiving to them. Their cover blown, the men stood up and walked forward into the illuminated street. Before them stood spL1tp3r50naL1ty, apparently unarmed and unconcerned. “You took long enough!”
The men looked hesitantly at one another, before one asked “You were expecting us?”
spL1tp3r50naL1ty laughed. “Expecting you?! Your masters proclaimed their intentions to kill me openly in the Curia itself! How could I not be expecting you?” He shook his head wryly, then turned around and walked back through the gates. When the men did not move to follow him, he stopped, turned, and beckoned them onwards. “Come on then, you’re here to kill me, are you not? Yes? Well then, come in here and do it!” The mob of men drew their pugii and followed after spL1tp3r50naL1ty.
No sooner had they crossed the threshold than the gates slammed shut behind them and armed men charged from concealed locations on either side. With a cry, the mob turned to meet them. A desperate fight ensued, and soon cries of terror and pain began to echo around the villa. Though they outnumbered their foes, the men were clearly not as well trained at battle and they were out-maneuvered as well. The leaders of the group called for a retreat, but with the gate barred, there was nowhere to go but deeper into the villa.
They ran forward, fending off the attacks of the armed men who followed them. Tables were thrown over, chairs broken, and expensive artwork and decorations scattered about as the battle moved through the building. Men began to fall, wounded and bleeding, only to be left behind as the battle passed them by. The mob broke through many doors, looking for an exit, but they found only walled rooms or further corridors. They began to lose hope of ever escaping when at last a broken door revealed a room with a high window. The men bolted inside, throwing any object they could into the doorway to keep their foes at bay, while one by one they began to climb out the small window and into the streets of Rome.
The last man left had a desperate struggle, as he held the barricade, waiting for his companions to get clear, before he threw himself forward, jumping for the window. He caught the ledge, and pulled himself through, landing heavily on the outside. Other men pulled him to his feet, and together they ran off into the night.
…
AggonyDuck had not been sleeping well lately. The crisis caused by the confrontation between Caesar and Pompey had inflicted horrible suffering on Rome. Well, actually more on the Senate than the population as a whole, but the Senate was Rome, was it not? Even more importantly, AggonyDuck was part of the Senate, and thus his own neck was on the line every day! Ah, those ignorant plebeians, growing wealthy through proscriptions and free from the risks of assassination in the night. All they had to worry about was the normal kind of murder. Murder and poverty. Unemployment was rife, of course. Plus starvation. And war, since they would inevitably be the ones fighting it. Oh, and disease. Indentured servitude was a risk too, if they fell into debt. Plus fire, you couldn’t forget fire. Or the gangs that ran the streets.
Yes, all in all the plebeians had it pretty well, while the Senate had to sit in their large villas, wondering whether an assassin was hiding behind this fountain, or perhaps that fountain, or maybe even the fountain over there! It was nearly unbearable, so AggonyDuck consoled himself with late nights drinking fine wines and eating delicacies imported from Africa and Illyria.
Still, the paranoia ran deep. It crept into AggonyDuck’s heart and soon he was eyeing those damned fountains, looking for assassins. Why had he made them so huge? An entire legion could hide behind one of them, and a cohort could hide behind another! Damn be the life of a patrician! Slowly, he crept up on the largest fountain, carefully protecting his eyes so that the light reflecting off the numerous jeweled inlays would not ruin his vision. Circumventing the entire structure, he was relieved to find it empty.
Next, he approached the second fountain, certain to find a cohort of dastardly legionaries waiting to end his humble life of public service. A cautious perusal soon proved this one to also be free of assassins. AggonyDuck was now much more relaxed. All that was left was the third statue, and that couldn’t possibly hide much more than a few armed men. Steeling himself, he snuck up on it, then jumped forward, revealing what was behind.
Just as he expected, there crouching in the shadow of the statue was a group of men clutching gladii. Typical. As the men got about their dirty work, AggonyDuck couldn’t help but pity himself and the miserable life of suffering and hardship he had endured. For the previous few nights at least. Easily a week; maybe a bit more.
…
In the morning, the small group of Senators filed through the forum and took their places in the Curia. No one paid any attention to the newly empty seat in the Optimates section, as an incredibly important note was nailed to the main doors. They all read it very, very, very closely and agreed that it was wisdom of unparalleled magnitude:

It is now Day X. You may begin voting. This day phase will end on Thursday, June 4th at 7:30pm EST.
For some reason I feel that splitpersonality should be lynched.... ~D
Yes, all in all the plebeians had it pretty well

I think even i can agree with Caesar on this one... except maybe for the imminent victory part...
I don't if im happy we found someone guilty or annoyed that i spent half an hour apologising and feeling guilty for going after the right person...
well this should be a fairly easy one...
Vote spl1tp350naL1ty
Well, Grizzly said I'm going to be killed if split isn't, and I dont think he's going to change his mind so...
Vote: spl1tp350naL1ty
I'm curious about TheFlax, what do we have on him?
Vote:Abstain
Wait, why is Split getting lynched? :juggle2:
I'm guessing due to that protection he had.
TBH im not so sure your on the suspect list anymore, there was a kill last night whilst you were active in a group, though i guess this does depends on the numbers mafia have left... i would have to check with the others but i would say at the very least you have moved yourself down the suspect ladder..
though voting for split is the right move... theres no reason he should have trained gaurds... unless he is mafia...
Edit: split should not have trained gaurds, only pro town roles which are accounted for and mafia have trained gaurds... split never once claimed to have trained guards either...
Conclusion, split = mafia...
Are you asking why Split has had attempts on his life or why are we lynching him?
:yes:Quote:

My earlier post about him, and the actions from last night, definitely warrant a proscription vote.
I get the feeling a slave wouldn't be well trained in battle... as per the bit sasaki bolded...
Righteo.. I get your point.
Vote: Splitpersonality
So you're lynbching a wealthy senator for having a one time protection deal? You should be ashamed, your lack of deducing skills has wrecked my villa!
While I was not always the most pro-active senator, i'm still a damn senator!
Lookie here, my villa is trashed and my men dead.
I urge you to not lynch me, as I will be dead by nightfall anyway. I instead would like to foster some discussion as to who else is suspiscious.Quote:
You were not in the least bit surprised when a large mob of men with four leaders appeared in the middle of the night, apparently intending to kill you. Fortunately, you are not as defenseless as you look. Your guards drove off the men with a well timed ambush, and your life was never seriously threatened. The murderous bastards wrecked your beautiful villa, however, and many of your guards are incapacitated with injuries. You will not be able to survive another attack without outside help.
Don't bandwaggon me for nothing, when you could easily get the mafia right now.
Since it is doubtless I will die regardless of your lynch today, here's my role PM for good measure.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I may choose to side with the Cesarians or the Republic as I see fit, thought it seems I did a poor job helping either of those causes. I failed as a townie and good senators died because of me, I'm no mafia, but I'm just as scummy.
My villa destroyed, my men half dead, and myself the prime suspect.
Vote:Splitpersonality, though I'd prefer you get someone more worthwhile, not scum like me, I can only believe it will happen regardless.
Chaotix, and those who died because of my negligence, I am truly sorry.
hmm, im not good with role pms, easily fooled, can we push the smarter senators up to the front and let them have a look at it... in the meantime i shall chase my shadow.. he can't evade me forever!
*consul grizzly hops off trying to jump on his shadow*
It say's your loyalties can change over time, shouldn't you have a faction switch special ability?
I'm being serious when I say that I feel/am scummy.
I feel like sh*t that I couldn't keep up in this game, and the town suffered for it. I should get an award for most useless townie :/
About my thing, I think it means I'm recruitable, though I can't honestly say if that's true or not.
All these roman terms confused me, I'm rusty on my history so I let most of the things I didn't get sit there. I probably should've asked about that but oh well.
Quote:
What he saw was horrifying. Bodies were scattered in multiple places, windows and doors were broken, and nearly everything of value in the room had been broken. His villa was ruined, but at least YLC was alive.
Quote:
Shinseikhaan’s villa was a wreck, with bodies strewn about and doors and windows broken everywhere. Still, at least it wasn’t just another boring night!
Your protection ability is clearly different from theirs--much more like a dictator's.
Sounds like your special ability should be the same as ignoramus. You shouldn't get two special abilities.Quote:
However, you are a flexible man and know that loyalties can change over time, given the right circumstances. You are free to support the Caesarians or the Republic as you see fit.
I am willing to bet Sasaki was one of Caeser's men
The writeup also differs from what Tincow sent me.
Your point being what?
Just cause tincow alters the writing style to suit the mood of the events doesn't mean that I'm guilty because of it.
Again, this is all pointless because I am a dead man either way. Though as I've said, I WOULD ENJOY IT GREATLY if the town tried to to get someone better to lynch. I feel like a waste of a lynch!
If I could suicide I'd do that too.
I said before in my post.
I don't really understand that either, I think it means i'm recruitable.
OR
It has something to do with the victory conditions.
Spcifically the second one, as opposed to the first.
As far as I can tell, from my own knowledge (very little) either dictator would be bad for the republic. It seems my first victory condition is one that all senators share, to keep the republic strong.
This would be very different from destroying the Opimates as my second condition is. Which would be something Caeser (my old chum from way back when apparently) would support.
Maybe it means i'm recruitable. Again, I stress that I do not know and did not ask.
Like I said, be convinced of anything you want, I'm still dead at the end of the day. Just depends on when, and by what hand.
You didn't think to check with TinCow when something didn't make sense, there was a part of my role pm I wasn't 100% on so I just asked TC and he told me right away.
That role pm doesn't look right at all to me.
Like I said, I don't know much roman history, so I just figured it would all make sense and that there was nothing wrong.
Probably a bad assumption.
But again, I do not care what you think of my PMs, I would like you all to kill me somehow. Again, is suicide an option?
I thought that either you can go with republic victory or your own faction victory and this is the same for every non mafia player ?
except maybe chaotix...
Suicide is a game breaker, not allowed for the reasons you want it...
I'm pretty sure it is, the first post has that in there.
And if I had edited my PM I would've made sure there were no mistakes in it.
if I were mafia there would be quite a bit riding on this here, and though I'm inexperienced I'm not dumb :P
The role PM does look fishy... it talks about ability to switching factions but does not include that in victory conditions... maybe Split edited/combined posted role pms to explain his protection and did it in a hurry. I highly doubt that Tincow could have made the mistake and Split never asked about it. The disconnect in the role PM is glaringly obvious even to me.
Take your role PM
Copy it, paste into something like notepad.
Look at the spaces.
They should be exactly the same, if not simmilar.
I hate how no one can even trust that I'm giving you the genuine F'ing PM here. It's not about my survival, I'd just like you guys to believe i'm a real senator and not a mindless drone working for that dolt Caeser.
That proves nothing split, you could have taken a genuine pm and edited it and it will still have the same spacing etc. You haven't explained the descrepancy between the description and your victory conditions and special abilities. TinCow has obviously paid a lot of attention to the details with this game, I can't see him giving somebody such a vague role.
I've said it f'ing 3 times now..
I DON'T KNOW THE DISCREPANCY
IF I KNEW IT I'D TELL YOU.
If I had even a plaustible lie to tell you, as mafia I would do that.
But I'm NOT mafia, and I have NO idea why it says that.
I CAN see him giving someone such a vague role because he gave ME this role.
This is making me too angry right now...
Ellaborate on John and Iskander please.
I don't want this whole discussion to be about why "Split is definately getting lynched, he's dead" i know that. I voted myself down too you see?
I'd rather it be about how the town is going to progress next, or this is just a waste of a day.
I will no longer speak about my role, my PMs, or anything else.
I am a senator, I will die of my own will, but the republic shall live.
LG didn't ask us to take part, he asked us to send him the results of our investigation. Which I will send now.
edit: Iskander and I checked beefy out previously, he is Optimates.
I have deleted most of my pms and checking the write up I can't remember what I did that night, was I supposed to be part of a group that failed or something?
edit: oh I was part of a group on the LittleGrizzly attack/defend thing right? I sent my orders in, wasn't it somebody else who failed?
I think night 5 was one of the times that I helped with the test on "everyone". But when did I lie to you? I know that the first time we test-killed "everyone" I improperly PM'd TinCow, and I forwarded his reply to you, Sasaki.
Unvote: Splitpersonality
I'll think on it. Let me ponder your role PM.
What night did you fail to send properly?
Because I have an attempt that failed, it was missing 2 people from my group of Iskander, Myself, Marshal Murat, and one other whom I can't remember..
Nevermind
What were you doing on night 6 CDF?
There was one night when I had two members not showing up while myself and one other did it. Sasaki knows what i'm talking about I don't remember specifics.
Say what you like about split, I don't think he could have killed Duck, because he would most likely have had to use his night action to defend himself.
See, this just seems very unlikely to me.Quote:
sent in my kill orders but neglected to tell TinCow that I was doing this with a group,
Yeah, my protective skill only works if I do nothing at night.
Which is exactly what I did.
It has been pointed out to me that in the Day III write-up, I failed to note Tiberius of the Drake's faction. This was an error. Tiberius of the Drake was a Populares. Apologies if this caused any confusion.
Unvote: Split
Until I'm back from lunch.
Hmm, I've reread the thread and a bunch of pm's and I believe I can say with authority that john and/or iskander is guilty. Against the rules to reveal why.
splitpersonality could still be guilty of course...hmm. But I don't think he made the kill.
johnhughthom should be lynched.
Vote: Iskander
In Sasaki I trust.
Vote: johnhughthom
So, we have the following suspects:
- splitpersonality;
- Beefy187;
- Iskander 3.1;
- johnhughthom;
- LittleGrizzly.
I think splitpersonality should be lynched today; that role pm is obviously fake. LittleGrizzly should be last on our priority list, I don't think he's guilty but would start to feel very uncomfortable if he stayed alive until endgame. If LG would be mafia, then Sasaki is probably guilty as well.
Lynch split today and vig kill at least one of Beefy, Iskander and johnhughthom, make sure the other(s) are tied in a group action.
It's not because there's no more Pompey news/propaganda and because Cultured Drizzt Fan, a mafioso who confessed, said that there are no more Pompeians left, that there are no more Pompeians left.
So no, being Optimates doesn't clear you in the slightest.
Add to that the fact that there are roles who can switch faction during the game so being discovered as Optimates on let's say N3 is not a guarantee that you're an Optimates now.
This is all becoming quite confusing. From what I read, I reckon split is innocent. Sasaki is dead and the general consensus to which I agree, is that Sasaki is townie and therefore is trying to help the town. This brothers thingie is also quite odd, and is giving me the shivers.
Vote: Iskander
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
My role pm, I will leave it up to Iskander to decide if he wants to post his.
I looked it up and a person with that name did exist at that period as a senitor and seeing as I dont think split is cunning enough to actually have come up with a name that actually belonged to anyone(no offence) I'll Unvote: Split. even if LG kills me I wont kill another Populares.Quote:

My role PM (I don't remember how to do spoiler alerts, sorry):
“The shifts of Fortune test the reliability of friends.”
- Marcus Tullius Cicero, "De Amicitia"
Lucius Aemilius Lepidus Paullus (Paullus)
Senator
(Populares Faction)
Your father was a controversial man, in the best traditions of Rome. He supported Lucius Cornelius Sulla while he was Dictator, but quickly turned on him once he retired from public life and dedicated himself to the Populares cause. His consulship was… eventful… to put it kindly, but the children of powerful exiles are still the children of powerful men.
Both you and your brother, Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, have followed in your father’s footsteps as supporters of the Populares. In your case, you have followed the cursus honorum, as Quaestor in 59 BC, Aedile in 55 BC, Praetor in 53 BC, and finally as Consul in 50 BC. You owe Gaius Julius Caesar a great deal, but your experience and titles allow you the freedom to lend your strong support to the Republic, if you so choose. In addition, despite your high prestige, your true strength lies in cooperation with your brother. In times of crisis like these, you are one of the few men in Rome who knows that he has an ally he can rely upon. Your odds of emerging from this political storm are surely far greater if you work together.
Victory Conditions:
(1) Eliminate all Caesarians and Pompeians. You will be victorious even if you are dead if this goal is met.
OR
(2) Survive and eliminate all Optimates Faction Members, including Pompeians.
Role Description:
Night Actions:
(1) With 1 other Senator, you can investigate one player per night. Successful investigations will show the target's faction.
(2) With 2 other Senators, you can attempt to protect one player per night. Any player you protect will be very difficult to kill that night.
(3) With 3 other Senators, you can attempt to kill one player per night.
Special Ability:
(1) Amicitia: Over the years, you have developed a very close friendship with another Senator. You share a strong bond and are truly amici in the finest traditions of Roman society. You know that this Senator holds the same political beliefs as you and you are confident that if you work together, you will both have a better chance of surviving this crisis, regardless of the course that you chart through it. You know the identity of another Populares Faction Senator, and he knows yours. That Senator is your brother, Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (Lepidus) – johnhughthom.
By the way, according to history, my brother will later sentence me to death...
