Choose Your Own Adventure Mafia [Concluded]

NIGHT 7

Riedquat was taking a nap in the crew quarters. The four-person rooms were full of beds, so they were the most logical places to sleep. There were few of them now and enough rooms that each worker could have an entire room to himself. As Riedquat was about to find out, this was perhaps not the safest course of action.

A voice speaking to Riedquat from nowhere in particular woke him up.

“HEY, RIEDQUAT. ISN’T IT A LITTLE STUFFY IN HERE? AREN’T YOU TOO HOT?”

“Uhh… no, not really, creepy voice. The temperature’s actually just fine. Don’t worry about it.”

“Nonsense. I think you need something to cool you down. Mwehehehe! Give him the peppermint!”

“ONE PEPPERMINT CANDY COMING RIGHT UP.”

“Wait, what? What’s going on?”

A small peppermint candy dropped into the room.

“Mwehehehe! Better run while you still can, Riedquat! Things are about to get chilly in here!”

Riedquat looked at it. It remained motionless on the floor. He ignored it and went back to sleep.

About an hour later, Riedquat woke up again, freezing. As he looked around him, he realized the entire room was covered in a frosty sheen. Waves of cold had been emanating from the strange peppermint candy this entire time.

Shivering, he got up and went to the door. It had one of those old-timey porthole handles, and it was frozen shut. No matter how hard he pulled and twisted, he couldn’t get the handle to budge. The most he managed to do was get his hands stuck to the handle at one point.

“COME ON, RIEDQUAT. IT’S SO OBVIOUS. YOU JUST HAVE TO EAT THE CANDY!”

Frantically, Riedquat picked up the peppermint candy and shoved it in his mouth. He swallowed it whole, unable to wait for the cold to stop.

“OOPS. I LIED. ACTUALLY, YOU CAN’T DIGEST THIS KIND OF CANDY. IT’S JUST GOING TO SIT IN YOUR BELLY AND FREEZE YOU FROM THE INSIDE OUT!”

“Mwehehehe! What a foolish little human!”

Now Riedquat was pretty annoyed. He’d had enough of these stupid red voices. He got back into bed and went back to sleep. He didn’t wake up, but at least he robbed them of the enjoyment of watching him squirm.

In the morning, there were only seven of them, plus the Foreman. One of the doors in the crew quarters had been frozen shut for some reason.

“All right, team! We’re en route to the Coldenski capital right now. We’ve got a couple of options. We’ve got enough firepower on this thing to make it feasible to go in guns blazing and level the whole city. It might make it difficult to find the artifact in all the rubble, though. And there’s always the risk that we get shot down. Or, we could activate stealth mode and slip into the capital undetected. Less innocents would be caught in the crossfire this way, but we would have to take on all of the enemy that we encounter on foot.”

The team murmured to themselves and to each other, deciding on a course of action.

“Of course, if you’ve got a better idea, you can suggest that, too. Also something we have to worry about is the unknown interlopers. The Coldenski threat on-board may have ended, but there’s been another secret threat this whole time. Find the interloper, and we’ll drop him into the sky.”

autolycus - Snacked out, then bit the bullet.
Jarema - Is now the engine of Republican victory.
Riedquat - They took his life, but not his dignity.

Choice options for today are Stealth, Smash, or Choose Your Own Plan. If you opt for choice three, you must actually describe your plan, and it will become one of the options.

This phase will last 24 hours.

Killing off Riedquat was just a bad move for the remaining scumbag, because of this Csargo is cleared in my mind as he would know better. I doubt it's Lazy pretty much all the way due to the horrible suspects Lazy picks even by scum standards. I hate to do this, but I think it's EF who is our remaining scumbag. Other then a scum vibe and him voting with Jarema last round, I have nothing else to single him out as our remaining scum.:shrug: Vote:EF

The logic might be atrocious, but that doesn't mean the conclusion is incorrect.

I find that caught scum typically argue against the bad reasoning used to indict them, as if town using shoddy reasoning to lynch someone were new or relevant.

A vote on a scumbag is still a correct vote even if the reasoning used for the vote is mind-numbingly bad.

Whether this means I endorse your lynch or not is a mystery. Draw your own conclusions. Meanwhile, I will nibble on Reidquat's brain.

Three of the team nodded. Two shook their heads vigorously. The last two were asleep in the corner.

"Yes, it's White_eyes:D!"

"Yeah, it's definitely White_eyes:D! He has a weird symbol at the end of his name!"

"White_eyes:D, what do you have to say for yourself?"

"I didn't do it!"

"Not good enough."

Foreman Chaotix pressed a button, and a square hole opened up beneath White_eyes:D, unceremoniously dropping him directly into the sky below. He fell.

An evil red glint flashed in two of the crew members' eyes.

"By tomorrow morning we will arrive at Coldenskgrad, and the bombardment will begin. I suggest you all get some sleep so you are ready."

If there are two killers, and they are both able to kill, and do: that leaves two town and two killers tomorrow. Even allowing that a killer is lynched the final day will see one and one.

The town's hope lies in the fact that, until now, there has only been one red kill per night. This means either they are restricted to one as a group, or less likely, the second killer has been inactive. DCmort93 has not been wogged and has posted only twice in-game. Having not played a Chaotix game before I don't know if that is usual. If not, perhaps he is one killer?

It is tenuous - and he should definitely not be the first target (an inactive killer is less of a problem than an active one) - but may explain the apparent inconsistencies.

So basically the town has to lynch the serial killer tomorrow, or hope that DCmort93 returns for the last phase. It's still doable.

Oh and; sorry White eyes :shame:

I don't know what :daisy:s me off more, that we don't have enough active votes after this round to win....or that we were never dealing with a SK but an opposing scum team. With a SK you know what to look for...with a scum team it's a whole different ball game.:wall:

I am 100% sure it's Lazy and Visorslash. Lazy is not being a bad townie but is more acting like a cleverly hidden scumbag...I overlooked it because I thought we were dealing with an SK. Visorslash is not acting paranoid...nuff said.:laugh4:
