Hehehe. Don't get over excited it's just a little, yet highly important, update.
I updated the Custom EB fix to the latest one. (A thousand and one apologies for not doing it before :sweatdrop:)

Instructions: Unpack it in you EB/data folder
It's highly advisable that everyone get this fix, otherwise you may be risking yourself to a potential CTD in late game.
(Using bovi's fix has the inconvenience of overwriting spoils of victory mod. If you had used that one, use this one to get SOV back to work.)

Is this save game compatible?
see if i've downloaded this (using alx) and i just click on the usual EB shortcut will it load it with alex?
I installed the phalanx mod and the RS map mod and then when opening EB I got a CTD during the initial loading screen. No error or anything, just closes.
I downloaded the original EB map installed that and tried again and it still crashed which led me to conclude that it was the phalanx mod that was acting up.
Seeing as there is no uninstaller for that mod or file to revert back to the original, I reinstalled EB and 1.2.
I reinstalled the phalanx mod again thinking I might have done something wrong on my previous attempt. I opened up the game and the game closed again.
Any ideas?
@Option: I think so. It should be. I'm not responsible if it turns out to be incompatible. =P
@Roka: Yes. Use your regular EB single or multiplayer shortcut. No adding extensions nor anything.
@Fierro: Humm that's weird... Others have used that with no problem. Did you installed the sprites fix before installing this?
OH and the backup, you don't need to reinstall the whole thing. Just re-run the pack installer. It will overwrite whatever you may have done. If you want to go back to the original EB instalation use the files in the first post* not sure if the link works though.

Yes I did install the sprites fix. I installed the fixes immediately after installing 1.2
I notice in the first post that only the RS map textures are listed as independent. I'm using them (which looks great and feels like my campaign is on google earth) Now, I didn't install the entire 1.2 pack only the RS textures. Would that be the reason why attempting to install the phalanx mod crashes the game? Do I need to install the 1.2 pack to get the phalanx mod to work?
The reason I didn't install the 1.2 pack was because I didn't want the Roman allied legions but now I see that there's a way to remove it. I install this after installing the 1.2 pack, correct?
Also has the save game compatibility been tested yet?
Well, yes that IS the problem. You'll see all the files here (except the independent ones) were modified to work along the others. If one of them is missing or if you just use a portion of them, the game will crash. The independent files are, well, independent, and as such cannot be considered as part of the 'pack'.Quote:

If you would like to have only the phalanx mod, you should go to the original phalanx thread (somewhere in this subforum). I think there's even a link in the main post, right next to the descriptions of the mini mods used.
On the SGC (save game bla...), I'm not sure. I have not tested it myself, since, well I don't have EB installed. The other 1000+ people who downloaded this thing have not said a thing about it. That could mean that:
a)They all started new campaigns, so they wouldn't know
b) They were to lazy to tell.
I'm honestly not sure if it's SGC, in theory it should I was told by a EB team member that if you added traits at the end of the file, it wouldn't mess up save games. I'm basing my assumption on his statement.

When will the next version of the mini mod pack be completed? I want to use Konny's Some trait changes (command stars & cursus honorum) and the Extended Offices Mod by Atraphoenix. However at the same time I am pretty engaged in my Romani campaign.

So , let me get this straight , it's E.B. 1.1 --> E.B. 1.2 ---> Sprites fix ( only ? none of the other two fixes ? ) ----> E.B. 1.2 Mini-mod Pack ( alx version - over an rtw 1.5 with alexander installed ) ----> scripts_customfix and I'm done ?
And I have to do nothing more to get this working ?
Am I right ?
No target lines or any changes of that sort to be able to work with alex engine ?
I would appreciate any help , sorry if this is tiresome but I'm not quite sure about the sequence of installation of the files .

*edit* P.S. : I ve installed the files as I described in my post , and my comments are ;
a) the game runs more smoothly than before I think with the Alex-engine , I was pleasantly surprised .
b) the campaign A.I. seems improved , kinda , I have to play more to be able to confirm this .
c) the hoplites under A.I. control don't work as they do in Vanilla EB , they spread out as soon as contact is made , a fact which I particularly disliked , please propose a way to fix this , or point out any mistake I made in installing the files , if correction through re-installation is possible . I can't mod so it will be tough for me to fix manually I guess .
d) the battle A.I. seems improved ( is this the formations or the engine ?) but I have to play more to be able to confirm this .
e) Arche Seleukeia seems weaker than before . I started as Pontos ( VH/M ) after I employed my usual strategy of attacking them ( and everybody else I can for that matter ) on the first turn , the haven't sent any decent stack since , I kept forcing peace just because I was awfully bored to face armies of 1-4 units every second turn , they kept breaking it , until I forced for a turn protectorate status , which caused them to turn to the Ptolemaioi and the haven't bothered me for about 10 years or so since . They are not passive however , they fight a war with the Ptolemaioi and Antiocheia has changed hands a couple of times . The Koinon Hellenon have done a good job in surviving , have reached Byzantion , and I think subdued the Epeirote kingdom and made them protectorate . I suspect however that the Makedonian Kingdom has shrinked to Mytelenian Kingdom , and even then continuously failing to capture Pergamos . The Hayasdan have moved and captured a rebel settlement to their southwest not the coastal one , I can't remember the name .
f) the spoils of war mod works , I think .
g) I can't tell about the city mod since I don't know the specific effects over the towns I own and/or my faction .
h) I believe the A.I. retrains , which rawkz .
i) Occasionaly the mod doesn't start , I can't tell why , I click single player but it will fail to start , and sometimes will start after I reboot .
j) I have experienced once a CTD when trying to load a savegame - not an autosave , after restarting the game , it didn't happen again .
All in all a positive experience but see c) point and comments on AS . Good job mate . Thank you
- try Lysander's sihunet formations adaptations. He just updated his link. Hoplites makes wonders in sihunet but phalanx not much but believe if you download phalanx mod on minimod pack then lysander's sihunet formations adapt. for aı you enjoy your battles.
- I do not play city mod because I need huge cities to feed my catas.
- you can retrain so does AI, quite fair for me. Plus AI does not retrain a lot so I found no problem on it.
for installation process; I followed EB 1.1 > 1.2 > official fixes > minimod pack > LZ3's script adaptation > phalanx mod > RS textures and naval strat mod > Lysander's sihunet formations adaptations then my submods (mostly EOM and realist movement mod / As I am not a roman maniac I do not play much with my RS legions Mod).
I mentioned that as a positive thing under the general title "first impressions ". Of course there is no problem with the A.I. retraining , the opposite is the problem , to have an A.I. sending you full stacks ( in terms of unit slots ) with weak units . You have to kill them all to the last man , in the hopes that next time you will face a real full stack .

The hoplite issue is an unwanted side effect of the battle AI mod used in the pack. You may want to take a look at Lysander's thread for other options. They are actually independent, but I chose to add them to the pack.
On the AS thing... I don't know, perhaps it's cause of Alex.exe, no modding was done to the map AI (well besides the victory conditions, which usefulness is debatable). Perhaps they were busy fighting against the ptolies.:shrug:
@ Astro: I promise to add a promotional add for your mod in the main post. I'm not sure on whether or not add it to the main pack, since that would make it not SGC, wouldn't it?
AS is weaker because many players play with the factions that is neighbor of her.
so She attacks you like kamikazes. But when I played far away from AS they makes wonders but there are two common process either ptolemies or AS dominates east. but percentage has a tendency on ptolemies but AS also may dominate east if she tries to wipe out ptolemies. especially carthage also participates into that war. Saba is far away from being a real thread to ptolemies, but nearly all neighbors of AS have potential to be a great power.

beast master ancillary doesnt work. i checked in both ongoing campaigns, Roman and Armenian. it should give you discount on recruiting cavalry but despite that the price stayed the same as in city governed by any other FM without this ancillary, or in fact in any city.
anyone else noticed that? is it something to do with the mod or the EB in general?
I think that might be related to the extended offices mod by Astrophoenix. :shrug:

@Sarkiss: No it's not part of the pack. The mods used did not touch ancilliaries, so that makes me guess that it's either related to Atraphoenix mod (extended offices, somewhere in this subforum) or EB. If it's not related to Astra's work, then you just found a bug in EB. :tongue:
I did not touch vanilla ancillaries, but it is a nightmare to trigger an ancillary :wall:
Plus, some ancillaries were orphaned by the team but no idea the ancillary he talks about orphaned or not.
P.S. I do not think he uses my mod, either.
Is City Mod save game compatable?
And why after installing this is the EBBS script so much shorter? Its at least 5 mb smaller.
