So, in other words, I do not get to move it myself? Also, if you moved my character with the army, you have overstepped your authority. My SOTP quite clearly prohibits that.Quote:

That would be telling me I'm in command, and then issue moving orders to the captain under me and tell him to leave me behind.
I dunno, but doesn't the CoL need to constantly ensure all armies are up to strength? but I think the CoL needs the commander of the legion to request.
anyway, I think as Asina, I did that once, I moved 3 half-strength units from Legio II over to Arretium to retrain it, but it didn't cause much hindrance, because it rejoined the rest of the army to march to Segesta the following turn
Looking at the rules, it does seem like he has to command the guy he has made commander of the army to move it, and if that's correct then it just adds to what I've said, since I went on from the assumption that he could just move it as he please without having to discharge me from my position as the commander first. I base that on the phrasing of rule 4.2 (emphasis added):
I interpret that as giving the commander an order to move there, but not actually moving it himself.Quote:

ah very well, I'll just wait for navarro's reply on this.
While it is, of course, your choice of whom to allow to move your character, this seems a minor offense in the grand scope of the game. I kindly suggest that perhaps in your SOT you write something to the effect of "only the Dictator, Heres, COL, or the Commander of my assigned legion may move my character to save time" etc etc. You can check out my SOT for how I worded it.
Again, its your perogative and no one will begrudge you that; but this could get out of hand very quickly if we let hurt feelings fester.
I agree with TCV. Avatars should not to be moved if SOT say that you can't do it. It's all about RP.
For example: TCV writes a story how his character is in Ariminum with his army just to find out that last season he and his army was moved from Ariminum to Arpi. In that case his whole story will look strange.
Although if rank have the power to move units then that person can move units but not avatars.
And it is said in the Rules that:

All I wanted to do here was to mark my territory and tell him that no, this you can't do, but now you did it anyway and I expect an apology and an insurance that it won't happen again. If I don't do that now, then he might do it again, and that time it could have bigger consequences than it had now.
(Edit: Oh, and Navarro, just to make things clear, I'm not angry or anything at you. I'm just a little irritated over TTCM's answer, 's'all.)
No, not at all - you're both misinterpreting what I wrote.
I'm saying that you definitely have the right to not be moved, as you requested in your SOT and if someone violates that then they are wrong. However, it is much easier for the game if you simply allowed certain people to move for you - just write "move me to 'x' location" in the SOT.
It simply speeds the game up; and I was suggesting that you could do us all a favor by allowing the higher ups to move for you, as you don't really miss out on anything with these mundane movements, unless of course you're totally absorbed in the fantasy of RPing.
Yes, this could happen again if things aren't set straight; but look at how this is being blown out of proportion - it's a game. Again, you have the right to be the only one to micro manage your avatar; but its rather silly when an inconsequential action becomes life-altering. Again, I ask you to simply consider allowing select others to move for you and avoid this ridiculous drama.
....still i didnt move his character this conversation is totally confusing i simply did my job and retrained your units...your avatar should not of been moved. I just wanted your army prepared to take Patavium. In fact even the forts were set up by Blasio himself...am I wrong?
had some time on my hands...the library is updated...enjoy!
hmmm, Cicero seems to be unselfish/pessmistic/loyal, similar to me, well he should be easier to roleplay than Asina, who was optimistic.
anyway, because of my pessimistic nature, I think this might not turn out as well as how navarro might think it might turn out to be, because we might piss the EB moderators off by constantly making topics that advertise this.
If you didn't move my character, someone else did. Before I found him in Segesta, I last left him with Legio 1 Apulia outside. Since you said you moved the 1st, I assumed you were the one who had moved me as well. But if it wasn't you... who was it?
And yes, that was a misunderstanding. Nevertheless, both my army and myself were moved, and though you may have the right to move the army, I was just saying that it's a little weird RP-wise that you do.
By the way, as I'm not quite sure anymore, which is my army? As I said I made a guess when I took the save last time, but I don't know if I was correct.

I want to move myself around because it's easier for me to keep track of where I am and know where I want to go, as well as for pure RP reasons.
No, it wouldn't speed the game up one second. I am guaranteed by the rules 24 hours to make my moves, therefore the save can't be taken back before that. Me taking the save or not is irrelevant to that, so if the rules are followed then nothing is changed. If the rules aren't followed, why do we have them?Quote:

Yeah, you got me zeroed-in: I live my life after my character, and if he dies I'll commit Seppuku. Does it make you feel better when you try to belittle me?Quote:

Look, this is ridiculous.
Of course the game would absolutely be sped up if you allowed someone to move for you because there would be less people taking "24 hours" to do their moves. It's simple arithmetic and there is no discussion on that. It is a matter of fact.
If you don't want someone to move your character then cool beans. I understand and appreciate the whole RP aspect of it. But to be this upset over a suggestion that you consider changing your restrictions (and not get upset when it appears to be accidentally moved against your wishes) is over the top. All you simply needed to do was say "I'd rather not" and that would have been the end of the subject for everyone concerned.
There's no attitude on my part, just the original suggestion that you could re-consider your SOT post to avoid these altercations with (in this case) the wrong person. I consider this "issue" finished.
To be honest guys nothing is being solved here. I suggest letting the situation go. I'm not taking sides, but the rules stand from now on. Whoever did move TCV's avatar, no fingers pointed, it doesnt matter, surely made a mistake, and won't do it again. Unless it has been said that a player will allow his character to be moved by someone else, then they cannot be moved. Speed is not the issue. However, let us not make enemies outside the roleplay aspect. This is meant to be fun. I think everybody can appreciate the conversations gone past what it meant to.
And as for you, Tribunus Tiberius Claudius Marcellus, go and concentrate on losing our argument in the Curia :clown:.
Baen - I believe you meant "implore" not "abhore" in the Curia. :idea2:
abhor's a word as well. I just used it in the wrong context. Thanks for that.
@ TCV- ya well im glad we settled that and if I did move him, i dont remember and sorry bout that. Regarding your army, it is Legio I Apulia. It is (3 hastati, 2 principles, 2 Accensi, and 1 Equites)
@ Everyone- ya i know its possible, just trying to get us to grow :2thumbsup:
The dictator's gone senial! :help:...anyway, why is he still alive, Navarro? He always seemed to die within the year whenever I began a Romani campaign. And what can we expect from Blasio? Does he also follow his father's beliefs, or is he a different character?
Haha I just think its time to grab hold of all the main trading points of the Med Sea. Blasio, he believes in keeping the Republic strong like Dentatvs, but his dreams are of gaining the economical advantage in the Mediterranean and using it to conquer all of Gual.
Agh not all of Gaul...I want to unite Italy, have allies surrounding Italy to protect the routes into the peninsula (ie. Massilia, Mediolanium and Patavium) then I would be for taking Sicily and Sardin/Corsica, before deciding which way we expand across seas.
We've got a sweet argument going in the Curia. :2thumbsup: I expect more and more of these as our options widen and more distinct factions develop.
ya well Patavium has already been ordered to be the next city we take. And one thing we know is that the truce with the Gallic factions is definitely not going to last after we take Massilia. The AI, i bet, will recognize it as a threat our borders are touching in to many places. :laugh4:
That's alright. The northern cities will have their own native armies, and it will be good for roleplay, for realism and for experience if new commanders had to fight off wandering armies of Gauls. Target practice. And it also keeps expansion to the north a possibility for the future.
hey mooks you still haven't done your SOT post!
