I will have to wait and see my role. :beam: I'll want to play in a group of course, seeing as I will have less and less time for this game as January progresses, but it depends on what I get.
We hadn't even got role PMs.
From there, it went to the voting block, then when that was against the rules, it would have gone back to peverreenk, but he died.
All I wanted was to play a game with Reenk, during the short time he had to play. If his death has been avenged, I don't care anymore.

I know, right :laugh4:
It's as I predicted.
Pizza was going to be lynched if renata didn't get lynched, and he most likely knew beskar was mafia from that round on but tried to save him.
That's a huge discredit to the insanious wagon right there.
pevergreen is by far the best lead, and is trying to shrug off suspicion. There are definite signs of him being linked to beskar. He said he had a private discussion with pizza and then voted insanious, that's a pretty big :laugh4: since pever was the other lynch candidate at that point and was probably going to go for him anyway. Private convo leads to the possibility that they are working together now.
Also, pizza says he's going after someone he believes to be pikachu but I thought his claimed victory condition was supposed to be something about getting samus at all costs.
Pizza should be lynched today. pever tomorrow.
Diamondeye information is possibly suspect as well, thanks romanic.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Pevergreen has privately claimed his name, alignment, and power to me. I would like to see a message from Beefy and from Ironside with the same.
I will post what has been claimed to me before EOD to let the town make the best choice. If any of the three claim a powerful pro-town role, I will not reveal it but will ask Seon to arrange for an investigation.
For now Unvote: pevergreen; vote: beefy
Alive folks, please help me drive the point home by putting some pressure on Beefy and Ironside.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
"Jill Valentine, Hero faction, powerful pro town" --beskar, 2010
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
We currently have a protector in Capt'n Falcon and investigator in Seon. Unless one of the reveals is equally dangerous for the mafia to know, I'm going to post it here. Beskar never claimed a power as Jill Valentine as far as I know. All the Heros I have spoken to thus far have claimed to have some sort of power. So Hero w/out a power will be suspicious
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
I'd also like to point out that Insanious was one of the early voters of Tincow despite his post saying he didn't trust Beskar's investigator. I think we should also take a good look at the Nictel bandwagon and compare it to the ATPG wagon on the day Renata was lynched. I'm confident the other Phazon partner will show up in these wagons somewhere. The Samus mafia probably left some traces of themselves in there too.
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Well, despite Secura's warning the town is doing the exact same thing they've always done. :juggle2:
On the voting block leak to Beskar, we can't reveal anything new but I feel I will summarize what is already in the thread:
I sent initial PMs to the players listed in the thread, and by inference from the later PM posted, the 6 were: TinCow, Renata, Secura, pevergreen, Beefy, Ironside.
TinCow did not want to join from the start because he didn't want to be told how to vote (of course that's not what was going on anyway...), Secura was cautious from the start. The other 4 were on board. pever then pointed out that Chaotix clarified his collaboration rule, and because of that, the group was put on hold. I died before it could be revitalized due to Chaotix's amended stance.
There is nothing to suggest participation or lack thereof is any indicator of guilt here. You've all seen the (exoteric) plan behind this block, what suggests that it may be a hamper to any Mafia, in fact it seems like it would provide a screen for a bit. Therefore, Sasaki's case that pever wanted to get out of the group to do Mafia things is absolute crap. He's thinking like he did in Shadow Fort or Atpg did in Capo III, and with different circumstances too (protection and vig group participation is more telling than voting participation). Renata seemed to be very fine in playing along as a counterpoint. The case on pever (or Beefy or Ironside) needs to come from elsewhere, as I will hint to a LITTLE below in the Yaropolk quote.
Anyway, as for who did leak to Beskar, myself, Secura, and TinCow cannot say anymore, and I'm pretty sure pever, Beefy, and Ironside will now say no given who Beskar was and the evil he spread.
My guess is still TinCow, based on his post after Beskar told him why he was scanned. It also could be Renata for that matter. I'm pretty sure neither TinCow nor Renata had any idea who Beskar was that early in the game. I believe Secura in that she didn't blab to Beskar until after the fact. That leaves Beefy, pever, and Ironside. All possibilities but I still think TinCow is the best suspect, with Renata second. GOOD JOB! :laugh4:
Oh, it also leaves me, but come on. If I didn't PM from the start I wasn't going to talk to you in private. gg no re

Who the **** are you to demand this? Not even a public reveal but a private reveal. Beefy and Ironside don't make the same mistake pever did. Though pever it does seem with this move that you are trying to save yourself... Start lynching the 'heroes' or people closely working with them if they get bossy like this, they're probably infiltrated already judging by how easy it is to divert their wrath, so it is a (particularly aggressive) form of damage control.

The case on Insanious is bad (be ready to thicken your skin here Atpg, and if you want to respond to it respond to it itself, and not me again , though you know I like to spar ). Essentially, you are claiming that he knew certain things like knowing that TinCow wasn't a killer. However, it seems very plausible that he was reading the writeups VERY carefully, a plausibility you bring up but also don't pay attention to. You seem to discard this plausibility because you have this assumption that new Org players don't really do this. Well, I've been playing since 2006 on the Org and have seen a ton of new players come in their first game and meticulously scrutinize the writeup, so I see nothing odd about Insanious. Seems like he likes these old school nintendo games. :beam:
I do agree with your classification of Insanious as somewhat nervous in his posts. Not to the degree you say, but I can see it myself here unlike the Nictel thing. The Renata interaction however simply is off, it doesn't seem like anything different from Renata talking to others. Given that your case is heavily invested in Insanious being a Phazon, the two factors of him knowing about Cloud Strife and the Renata interaction are critical to your case, and I am calling them into question. Merely being a bit nervous only warrants a closer investigation at this point, not a bandwagon lynch.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
@Romanic- The person who was attacked twice last night told me that the player in question was inactive.
That is how I arrived at such conclusions; ask him yourself.
@ Reenk- I'm not really surprised you disagree to a certain extent. :beam: But my pride is not wounded.
However, I think the main point of my case has some merit. During that round, the Dark Samus team decided how they were going to treat the case on Tincow; they did not want to lose him that early, and there was even a chance to save him from death.
The coordinated action, it appears, between Tincow and Insanious to both point out that Tincow could not have been killing, is the smoking gun.
More interesting side data is how Renata interacted with Insanious. But that's not the point, nor is it entirely the point that he knew much from the writeups.
I think that his pointing out of the case on Tincow being wrong PLUS the fact that he knew so much about the writeups tends to indicate he has inside information.
Do you completely disagree with that point; I know coincidences can be coincidences but sometimes they're also the smoking gun.

Yeah. In Capo III I just wanted the commies dead, but you know who the town wanted dead: the mafia. I ended up attacking more mafia than commies with my commie-hunting power. I even put off killing Chaotix so we could make doctors for the town based on my killing and failing to kill my final mission objective. I do similar stuff all the time, especially when neutral.
In the Parasite game, I could have left when I found the exit. I stayed and helped destroy the Parasite team and died. No one killed more Parasites than I did. I lost the game.
Last night, I attacked someone I knew wasn't Samus because that's who the town would have wanted me to attack.
Sometimes I do things for the glory. For the lols. For the fun of it.
I remember a long time ago a certain Sasaki Kojiro told me that I needed to just enjoy the game, and not be so wound up in winning or losing, or words to that effect. I think I got that point and took it to heart.
I still like to win, but I like to win with style. With grace. This guy hath indeed, a funny face.

I have a scan result on him that I'd like him to clarify. Others are in agreement on it.
It can be explained; it's not a slam dunk. I still need to hear the explanation.
edit: Interested to know how I got the pizza guy to display?
Go to Settings
Go to Edit Profile Picture
and see Option 2- upload image from your computer
Or use Option 1 to upload from an image hosting site.
Edit: I have to go to work. My vote stays where it is; I'd prefer to lynch Insanious over Jarema given lack of cooperation/information from both, and the behavioral clues from Insanious which are harder to explain.
I will be following up on either of these with a scan or vig attack tonight, unless warned otherwise.

I totally don't get the case on Jarema except for a vague feeling of scumminess (but with my track record so far thats more of a sign of innocence than guilt)

4) Corrupted Cloud Strike is tiny and kills people with lightning
To me, just doesn't seem to fit any of the 4 killers last night, might just be me.
Edit: just changed "dark cloud strife" to "corrupted cloud strife"
I don't like Insanious as much as I did before after reading over his earlier posts again. There's nothing here that anyone with knowledge of the characters in question wouldn't be able to surmise. I did. The FF character known as Cloud doesn't fit any of the killers description that particular night phase, and where there's phazon, there will be Samus. Pikachu was easy enough to figure out, although it may just be my righteous hatred of that foul creature that made him clear to see to me. My suspicions on Insanious were due to a feeling in my tummy I got when I read his response when he was prodded. (post) After posting such a well formulated conclusion of that write up stating that cloud was not one of the killers, quite literally in his very next post, he votes for TinCow. When TinCow announced someone who voted for him would die, he used it as an opportunity to unvote him. Perhaps as a vehicle in which he could unvote his hopelessly bandwagoned scum buddy, or perhaps out of genuine fear assuming he is a survivalist. His activity has also declined a bit after the first two day phases. Felt off to me and still does, however I would like to look at Jarema a little bit more.

For the reasons I explained earlier (fear, mostly) I vote: ATPG
He says he believes Insanious is scum due to PIS, but instead votes to ATPG, the man who has brought forward the PIS case on Insanious.
Here
he states that he does not mind letting ATPG do the "dirty work" but when ATPG offers a case on someone he himself finds scummy, it's time to vote him off. It gave me the impression that he's more afraid of pizza, a known sk who can't murder anyone without alerting the town, instead of someone he himself said must be mafia. Just feels funny to me.
I will say to Jarema's credit, he has offered reservations about trusting the pizza dude and has made them quite clear, but to give credence to him(perhaps unknowingly?) and in the very same breath vote for him felt wrong in some way.
Now it's time for me to go back to my hidey hole. :curtain:

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
For what it's worth, I think you're being led around the houses here; by stating that he was aware of the voting block before I told him about it (after Reenk died), it makes it look as though someone leaked the information to Beskar and thus makes you guys waste a lynch or two on players that might well be townies.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Alright, so... been gone for a bit (bit being 2 days). Come back to see me being bandwaggoned for what I posted at the start of the game... really the arguments are pretty weak:
1) ATPG is arguing that I am scum because I looked too much into the write up, and "knew" that TinCow did not kill.
Well, since the only games that I've read on .Org are the Star Wars ones, specifically YOUR Starwars game... and guess what, in YOUR write ups you put in light saber colours as well as abilities and stances as a way for the Town to try and rule out mafia. So I took YOUR advice from the end of the Star Wars mafia, to look more into the write ups, and I looked here.
Guess what I didn't see in the write up... someone killing someone else with a Sword aka. Cloud. So, I posted that Cloud was not one of the killers, and he wasn't. Basic knowledge of vintage video games will tell you this. Me, I come from teamliquid.net a gaming website based around SC and SC2... but I mostly hang around the gaming section of the forums, and there are A LOT of threads about vintage video games and pokemon... heck, there is even a competitive SSBB scene. So I took my knowledge and applied it here.
2) You stated that I was experienced, but not at .Org, so I wouldn't be posting like I do unless I am scum.
Just to be fair, this is my 3rd mafia game I've played in total, and have read 3 other games of mafia. Two from .Org... So no, not experienced, I have no idea what I'm doing, but thx for the compliment. (Mainly wanted to throw out the "could be one of the best players on .org" well... maybe I am, once I get more experience.
3) You talk about an interaction with TinCow and Renata...
There wasn't one, TinCow saw me saying Corrupted Cloud didn't kill anyone and tried to aid a defender... why wouldn't he? He gets free defense from a town, and if he doesn't die, but I do and flip town, he looks less like a red. If he dies, and flips red, then this happens and one more town dies.
Renata, I don't think I even talked to Renata and Renata just quoted me / responded to me... again, using me to defend TinCow.
4) I'm scum because I jumped off of the TinCow lynch
Surprise surprise, I am a survivalist... so if I die, I don't win the game with the town. The whole point of the game is to win, why stay on the bandwagon for a deadman if it has a chance to kill me? Every town should be trying to stay alive #1 objective, #2 is to kill mafia... because unlike in a normal game, killing mafia but dying means you lose... but the mafia doesn't 100% lose.
So the best way to win, is to find mafia, and then get others to vote for them... I was one of the first ones to vote TinCow, I waited until the numbers on the bandwagon got high enough it was irreversible, then I switched off so I had a higher chance of winning the game.
Btw, Vote ATPG as much as I don't want to kill ATPG yet, he is the one with the 2nd highest amount of votes...

Reason of my lurking/scummy behavior was trying to pull off something which failed. Now I'm lurking because you people talk too much and I have nothing else to say. I've already revealed my role to pevergreen and ATPG, and I don't plan to reveal to any more players.
I think it will be more useful for the towns and for my self if I don't reveal my self for now.

1 pevergreen (Csargo)
1 ATPG (Jarema)
1 Diamondeye (woad&fangs)
4 Beefy (Diamondeye, yaropolk, Romanic, Insanious)
2 Jarema (Frozen in Ice, Skooma Addict)
1 Romanic (ByzantineKnight)
1 Khaan (johnhughthom)

I have not been able to get a roleclaim from beefy, but every time i contact someone they tell me ATPG is already in contact with them. Although I am glad for his help thus far, I think is network has gone too far. Romanic is right, beefy would not have been in 3 way tie if he was on bowser team, so I'll oblige and vote for ATPG tonight. I'm still double checking claims from iron and pever and will let the town know what i found hopefully later today.
unvote: beefy; vote: atpg

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Alright... so since no one is letting me live apparently, I might as well reveal.
I am... Ness IDFH survivalist I am the roleblocker from the night 1 write up.
I role blocked greyblades night 1, Diamondeyes night 2, and no one night 3 (I missed it, was partying after work and forgot to post).
As well, I was Agent Thrust Masterson... if you really want me to post my PM from TinCow I can...
Now, if anyone is here, they can either:
1) Let me die
or
2) Let me live, at least till the night where I'll get night killed, but at least I can roleblock 1 more person.

Yeah. You killed both a roleblocker and the closest thing we have to a vigilante, at the same time. Good job.

Sorry man, I truly intended to lead us all to a united victory where we would have lived in peace and harmony. Everyone would have gotten a puppy. Two puppies. Everyone else was just jealous and they had to wreck it.

Captain Falcon is tallying votes today, is he not? If Insanious and ATPG are both telling the truth about their roles, they'll probably both live.

... Either your as destructive as the most depraved 4 channer or so devious that you can cause the most trouble while acting utterly oblivious as to make us think your too dumb to be doing this intentionally... and the scary thing is I cant help but think the latter.

If Falcon is smart, both would be on the chopping block.
CF: "Show me your moves!"
ATPG and Insanious would duke it out, ATPG would obviously win, then you hear a "FALCOOONN PAUNCH!!!" and ATPG goes spinning towards a blackhole.
