Re: the Start of an epic campaign
I wouldn't fight that battle if I were you, from my experience it's a long and bloody one with no decisive outcome but a mutual depletion of forces which makes future alliances more difficult to obtain and causes a loss of influence. Does increase the Dread of both generals though.
You may have to give up some territory to the crusade before it exhausts itself, and then withdraw from Spare Bedroom and attempt to reinvade the Bedroom. With luck the crusade will have sucked up all available forces and you'll be able to sue for a ceasefire.
Chances are you'll be sucessful (if your emissary has enough experience to be convincing), though her Holiness may warn you to withdraw all attention from the computer within 2 days and not resume activity for another 10 or face excommunication.
A pretty severe price I'll grant you, but peace is seldom cheap. On the other hand it will give you a much greater chance of sucessful invasion of the true Holy Land, which is well worth it and only possible with her Holiness's consent. Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war!!

Sage advice, Lord Heidrek!
At the risk of my King receiving either the "under the thumb" or "whipped" line of vices, I agree, it is a small price to pay for a peaceful resolution!

I hate to be a killjoy, but we've gone considerably off-topic here. If we're unable to return to the original subject, then I'm afraid I'll have no other choice but to excommunicate you all from this thread. We must let our friend deal with Lady bamff on his own. ~;)
