Sorry for my ignorance, but are you guys saying that this cheese steak is like a cheeseburger but with steak (steak as in filet pur or chateaubriand) instead of the burger?
:jawdrop:
I'm speechless...
It's generally round/rump steak, and don't forget about the bigger roll than a cheeseburger.Quote:

Well, it sounds like blasphemy, but on the other hand, I'm intrigued.
MaybeI'll try outI'll ask my wife to try out the recipe mentioned in the wiki article.
It's illegal in 47 States:Quote:

The steak is a top round, top sirloin or rib eye cut of beef - sliced thin and chopped up as it is cooked. Here's a fairly large picture of a cheesesteak so you can see the detail of this delicacy (eating so bad shouldn't taste soooo good). Actually, now that I look at it again, this picture looks like a Pizzasteak (cheesesteak with a pizza sauce). Anyway, same idea.

Sorry, old chum - I was poking fun at my country's tendancy to outlaw products that induce any kind of psychotropic effect. My bad :shame:Quote:

I knew the cheese steak was an American type food, but I would have assumed they would had some variation in Europe.Quote:

What is this healthy inquisition about? First we have beef with melted cheese on white bread which is sooo disgusting and unhealthy and next Adrian posts a picture of ham with mustard on white bread and because the ham has Italian name, its soo delicious and healthy. Meat is good for you!Your brains also need fat to function properly!:hide:
We're talking about food here, not chemistry or forensics!Quote:

Ridiculing pastrami sandwiches, ha!
Nitwits. :balloon2:

I'd rather stick with my old and trusty 'bab...
This is true. I have become very knowledgable about this sort of thing since I discovered that my cholesterol was high. :yes:Quote:

I'm a bit surprised that HoreTore, our resident advocate of things proletarian and simple, has such little appreciation for such fare.
Look. There's a slight difference between having a shave and cutting your head off. :whip:Quote:

This is getting rather surreal to me actually, I'm usually being harassed by family, friends and particularly gf for eating way too unhealthy...
I should store this thread and show it to them every time they mention it from now on.. Should shut them up :smash:
EDIT: Also, the thought of using fake cheese really creeps me out... How on earth can that taste good?

If this ever comes to Europe, I can already see it announced by our Dutch neighbours: "Broodje steak", right next to "Broodje Kroket".
