I thought it was great. It's just like the other indy movies (though crusade will always be the best). All the complaints in the thread are things that were present in the old movies (especially the complaints about lack of realism). I suspect some people get pickier as they get older.
Yes its worth it, everyone here is right that it isnt like the old ones (this new one is more family version) but if Indie movies are your favorite go and see its not that bad.Quote:

Personally I think it was, despite the completely unbelieveable storyline a good movie. I enjoyed watching it even if it was way way OTT. And most of it was classic Indie.

Aliens!!! Spielberg's got to be kidding. This is Indiana Jones not Extra-Terrestrial! After reading some of the replys I'm begining to get a bit put off about going to see it. It's IMDB rating is sliding rapidly as well...
The space aliens/chariots of the gods angle really doesn't bother me, I thought it could have been handled really well... if done right. My problem is the Lucas angle.Quote:

I sincerely hope Lucas never directs or produces another movie again in his life. There is simply no excuse for someone who has enjoyed such spectacular success at the box office and whom exerts total creative control over his films to put out four truly horrible films.
I'd like to note that it has an imdb rating higher than that of temple of doom (25,000 votes). I found it to be very similar to Temple of Doom.
Okay, just saw it this afternoon. It was good right up until everybody left for South America. Leave that part intact (except for the, er... boom referenced in earlier posts), replace the crystal skull with something a bit more plausible/less alien, and don't make the "final location" a massive architectual complex that has allegedly gone undetected for however many years (a disturbing trend in movies in itself) and you might have something worthy of belonging to the same franchise as Last Crusade.
It's been sliding downwards though, it started with 8.4 and inside a week it's 7.5 currently. Could go down even further...Quote:

I think that the 'secret city' thing is a little overdone, but it does exploit the 'blank spaces on the map'. I'm just glad it wasn't in Antarctica.
Went to see it yesterday, it was dire.
I groaned in agony at the alien parts. So bad! The references to the earlier ones were ok, but overall it was a poor movie. Glad I didn't pay for the tickets.
