Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
I try very hard to make sure I am here, but folks dangit if I don't post I will have sent my vote in advance.
Sorry, but my girlfriend's house doesn't have net access and I have to drive all the way back home. Please don't bandwagon me for not showing up one day.

Haha.... Oh the old, "My Old Lady won't let me out to go bowling" routine. I already smell the guilt. ~;p

Oh, the old "vote for yourself to appear innocent routine".
Ya know, we haven't even gotten our roles yet. But if you want me to be the first piggy to get slaughtered, by all means.
If you saw me in Chaotix's FF mafia, you know I play fast and loose with my life. I'm suicidal, yet analytical.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
For months The Prometheus traveled through the vastness of space to Europa, a moon of Jupiter. It was a long and tense journey, but the crew was resilient and the obstacles were overcome.
And finally came the landing on Europa, and the crew set quickly to work. They put on their suits and constructed the equipment and began mining the surface for the element they had traveled so far to collect.
After a couple false leads, they finally found a vein of the element not to far beneath the surface, and the drilling began in earnest. Difficulties with the equipment continued, but these were all dealt with.
As the last space in the cargo hold was filled, some of the crew wept. They set about readying the spacecraft for the journey home with a dedication they had never applied in their previous jobs back on earth. It surprised and encouraged all of them.
After the spacecraft had blasted off from Europa, preparing to slingshot around Jupiter and back to Earth, one man was not happy. The agent brooded in his bed. His schemes to cause mechanical malfunctions had failed, perhaps because he did not know much of mechanics, though he did not admit this to himself.
He knew he could not let this ship return home, or all that he and others had worked for would be destroyed. No longer would humans revere the Earth, but they would use her for their own selfish ends. The idea of people making use of Earth to better themselves appalled him. He knew he must now take direct action. It would be dangerous, but he must stop this craft from reaching Earth and destroying her.
He knew what he must do. He took a few supplies and left his room.
The Game Has Begun!
PMs have been sent out to all non-crew roles.
Crew (townies) may or may not have recieved a PM, or may in the future when I have more time and don't have to travel across the state.
It is night, and in 24 hours the first day will begin. I would like all necessary PMs by that time. Thank you, and good luck!

When you start voting for someone and it makes sense, I vote for them. Give me your reasons. You vote for me, and I'll vote for me too.
Of course, since it's not day phase, none of this counts anyway.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Don't listen to ATPG, he's just playing mind tricks... before you know it we'll all be under his control! :laugh4:

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Ah, but there are two ATPG's onboard.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Vote: Yoyoma, ATPG, Alexander, and Chaotix. For spamming poor CR's thread with nonsense. Something I, of course, am above doing.
Oh, wait...

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
I shall endevour to roleplay this time around, something I have always wanted to do. Without further ado:
Log One:
It's the first night aboard the Prometheus. I've been hearing some strange noises, but then again this entire place has been strange. Some old-fangled technology found by Sholken. I just hope that we all survive this, it seems as though it might take a while. I dont want to run out of fuel or food. But we gotta do what we gotta do to get this energy back, if I'm ever gunna see Sam again.

Log 1: I AM THE AGENT HERE TO DESTROY EVERYONE ahem....lovely spaceship, *itches neck*

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Logically, there's no reason to consider you the agent, or innocent, from that post. It's unnecessarily distracting for town though.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Shouldn't be any problems yet, but later on, I have seen that townie posts which make no sense turn someone into a target. When that happens, if you are a townie, town wastes a lynch on a townie, which helps the agent.
Generally I wouldn't do that as a townie, especially later on. It's either a bad townie or an agent move.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
The Captain called a meeting of the crew. They were jubliant, but their enthusiasm dropped quickly when they entered the room. The captain met them with a somber stare.
"Crew, I will get right to the point."
He held up a worn copy of Silent Spring, and the crew members close enough to make out the cover gasped.
"We found this in the engine supply room. We are in danger. There is a member of the old guard of the tyrants on this ship. I suspect he was behind some of the mechanical malfunctions we have experienced. We cannot allow this to go on."
The crew was dead silent.
"We will have to find this tool of the old tyranny. I believe the most effective method is to use all of our intelligence to track him down. So we will decide as a group who to imprison in the cryo-chamber until we return to earth. Whoever recieves the most votes will be imprisoned and electronically locked in until we return."
"So decide carefully who it is that we will imprison. Our mission, and the future of humanity depends on it."
Nobody spoke after that for ten minutes.
The Day Has Begun.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Oh god...I can't believe this. Guys, I heard noises last night, but I wasnt sure who else was in my room, I'll try to find out. As for now...without any evidence I'm just going to vote for the first person I see...Vote: Shlin28
Sorry buddy, but your name was the first I saw off the crew list.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
Noises? What sort of noises?
EDIT: For sanity's sake, please use the acronym ATPG in this game only to refer to Alexander, and pizza or pizzaguy to refer to me.

A very, very good question. Not paying attention, or deliberate tactic?
I ask the Host (who may not answer this question): Did you get read receipts for all role PMs you sent out?

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (Signups!)
I would think that perhaps the mafioso was either not online that whole time, or perhaps is trying to get us to think that he wasn't online. The trouble is, there's no evidence either way, so it's not a good clue, yet.
Vote: Ichigo
We need real votes, not fake ones. Not voting or fake voting, to me, doesn't help town at all. Either it's a bad townie move or a good mafia move.
Question: from the initial scene, can we conclude there's only one mafia? Or are there more?
