At the suggestion of Chirurgeon and SwissBarbar, I submit
Great battle gamegeek2! Interesting angle of your shot.
Ah, sweet chaos!
That looks like a Roman army invading Britannia with Casse mercenaries, or... some other part of Gaul, maybe.
You ca find so many nice details in that one. Chapeau
Centurio Nixalsverdrus' is still winning this IMHO - keep the screen shots coming gents!
It's from my AAR.
Ok, this is my first screenshot Competition:

The sally of Antiocheia. The situiation in which my good friend Domodamas Drangenikos (AS general) was reminds me at a scene of Star Wars Return of the Jedi. The moment when Ackbar realized that the Imperial fleet was behind him. Poor Domodamas Drangenikos...:laugh4:
Ceterum censeo Romam esse delendam
EPIC REFERENCE!
A balloon for u!

Awesome picture!!

The sound of crashing swords and shattering shields could be heard up and down the narrow river that stood as a last defense towards recently captured Massalia. Lucius Corneilus Scipio, 'The Great Scipio' as he was called and his legion were all that stood in the way of the Gallic horde bent on rape and pillage. The Gauls crossed the bridge in great numbers, and immediately the auxiliaries moved to stem their advance.
"Sir?" asked the Primus Pilus, Marcus the Centurion to his Legatus, Scipio "Shall we commit the Hastati?"

"No," he replied. "We seem to have them by the balls already."
I present to you! The Gallic Phalus Formation!
Not exactly your normal submission, but since green arrows and banners technically aren't outside of the rules why not, people have asked me to submit this =P Think of it as in the running based on its comedic value rather than the usual boring coolness of the big battles!
I'm guessing that it's a subtle reference to my entry in the January competition, with a massive mountain in the background. Amirite?
And I'm not being toady or anything as you liked my #4, but I honestly think yours is the best so far, as it leaves a nice space in the centre, and isn't combat oriented.
"No Sir! Watch out!"

The Last Man Standing

4000 warriors fell in that battle. From my 2000 men defending Baktria, only 300 survived.
First screenshot by the way.
That was an awesome battle dude, i can still remember it. At the start i burned their siege tower, and the gate towers burned their ram. Then they placed 2 siege ladders on the walls and started coming and both sides started dying, and dying, and dying. When i noticed i had lost my army, it was too late, for the bastards were fighting to the death. And when the battle in the walls ended, i had only about 50 troops left, all of which managed to retreat into the plaza, and the enemy had only one man remaining, which was "broken" but got stuck up there.
Anyway, I will give a cookie if someone can identify half of these bodies. :verycool:
Pantodapoi phalangitai, persian archer-spearmen, and nizag gund w/e they are looks like are most of what's there, with maybe some kind of greek psiloi unit. I'd vote for this is the competition.
My favorite part about wall battles is when the unluckiest of the soldiers fall to their deaths - arms flailing and screaming until they splat. I just find it hillarious to watch - although it always seems to happen to my defenders way more than to the enemy who scales the walls. Perhaps I need to scale walls instead of starving the town into submission or sapping/ramming.
I actually saw one poor bastard jump. He was the last of his unit and facing my angry troops... rather funny moment.
I once saw ten men jump all at once to get away from my troops. It was cool and weird.
