Re: Bushfires in Victoria
At least these two murderers may be caught.
Death toll now at 181 with an expectation that it will reach over 200.
Re: Bushfires in Victoria
What is expected as punishment for these people?

Quote from the BBC article I posted:
Quote:
In Australia, deliberately lighting a fire which results in death carries a sentence of up to 25 years in prison, while intentionally or recklessly causing a bushfire carries a 15-year maximum sentence.
But seeing as how large of a death toll there is... I'm guessing they'll get a little more than that...

I wouldn't be surprised by life imprisonment with no parole.
Re: Bushfires in Victoria
Condolences to all who lost their lives. my heart goes out to them. I'll see to it that a possible donation may be provided. :shame:
but the Australian government should hang the son(s) of a b*** who did this. life in prison is too good for whoever did this. this crime is too great in scale, too horrific in execution, and just evil.
Re: Bushfires in Victoria
My guess is they will be tried for murder, or manslaughter. I really hope so.
More fires are going on, a few more lit last night by more arsonists.

We got rid of the death sentence 30-odd years ago for a good reason.

They should be trialed for terrorism because that's what this is.
