Re: Post your favourite full-stack here!
Wow. KH Reform phalanx. Not everyday you see that!
Anyway, playing with a pike phalanx always seems like cheating to me. Unless the enemy have heavy cavalry, you will pretty much pwn everything. Missile troops will waste their ammo on you, and the melee troops will stand right before your pikes, slowly getting ground to dust. No wonder people have such high-experience pike phalanxes. Just try to get my beloved Romani legionaries to that level of valour. Impossible without having to merge/retrain those blokes all the time. And since retraining is rarely an option, merging will have to suffice.
The EB pike phalanx is in a dire need of nerfing. No way it was that powerful. Unless vastly outnumbered on an open field or faced with a significant number of 33+ armour cavalry, my phalanx has never been defeated. It is not even fun. I also play with Eperios since AS, KH, and Makedonia have more elites than normal units. Once again, no challenge.
All that aside, my favourite stack is the all-Cordinau Orca one with one Romani general and three Mercenary Hellenic Generals. Also includes two units of Scythian Archers. It is my only all-elite stack and I have used it against the mighty Sweboz Empire and the Central European monster stacks. You would not believe how much experience those guys have and how badly the annihilate normal AI stacks.

Don't forget, that the Koinon Hellenon Phalangitai have a lower morale then their Pezhetairoi counterparts. If they engage another phalanx unit, you have to baysit them all the time.
But against non phalanx units...:laugh4:
How would satalexton say... something like "poor Roman pigs":laugh4:

Oh boy!!! How can you manage to win those battles?!? :laugh4::clown::clown:
A single well-placed heavy cav charge on the back of an engaged phalanx will usually rout Klerouchoi and Pantadapoi/Machimoi while two charges should crush Pezhetairoi and even the elite phalanxes such as the Silver Shields.

Not to mention your army is in an unimaginably dire need of cavalry. I do not see how you can win a battle against an equal army (well, by now there is no AI army equal to yours I suppose; even Gaesatae will probably rout) with just infantry and not sustain grievous casualties. Just two units of inexperienced but decent cavalry is worth at least three of those Massalians, even with their chevrons.

Thanks satalexton:beam:

How I said, its a city defence stack. So no cavalery needed.

Wait so you actually did this: " sit in your city and autoresolve and retrain every battle. After ten years you will have an "all-gold-stack". But that's cheating, I know." ???
Heh, I thought you were just talking about a possible situation, not something you actually did. That is cheating. And not the the "fun" type of cheating either... Then again it depends on the person. So why did you do it?
AW: Post your favourite full-stack here!
Cause I had no intention to expand into gaul, so Massalia became my "western gate" of my empire. Sometimes I fought bridgebattles with this army (no autoresolve), but that got boring, so I ended with wall defences and they got boring...
I mean, fighting one battle against AS, one against Kart-Hadastim, one against Hayasdan, one against the Sauromatae (shooting horses with Thureopherontes Toxotai from walls never get boring), one against Lusotannan, one against rebelling Ptolemaioi and one against the Aedui (most are siegebattles) every second turn can get boring:sweatdrop:.

This is my realistic army stack in my Pontos champaign. Its not my favourite, but its the one that has beaten Ptolies and AS in many occasions. Btw sorry for my bad english. Greetings from Croatia (im new here) :clown:

I really like your army composition! I like using realistically balanced armies too. It's looks like an army I would use too.
Don't apologizes for your English, it's fine. Besides, many here don't have English as their first language.
(And some who do have English as their first language write rather badly...)

The problem with the AI is, that it nearly always attacks my flanks if I use two or more Thorakitai (or other flank protectors) for each flank. So I decided to use only one Thorakitai for my left flank and my General for my right flank. My right side is also my cavalery flank, so no additional flankprotectors needed.
