The sweet smell

A good way for the administration to hedge their bets here. If miracles of miracles this somehow produces a better product, the government looks like heros. If GM continues to die, which I would bet on, they can say "well it was only half government owned, it's not our fault."

Nevermind that the mechanism behind voluntary nationalism is highly suspect to me. Does any company qualify for that? "Yeah, my business is going down the tube. But sign a few forms and now the government will pay my workers' wages!"

Yeah you would have thought that socialism of the nationalisation flavour would involve putting viable companies under state control .
Surely offloading a screwed up company onto a bunch of muppets isn't socialism , its capitalism at its prime .

Uh, I was one of those inhabitants. My family has been dealing with floods in this region since many years before the U.S. was a dream of the merchant British settlers, under many flags, including some they likely do not teach you about in your history books.

As a citizen of this great union, it has my full support, and I will defend the constitution of the U.S. with my life. But for you to say that it is ending, or something along this manner, because something that has happened time and time again since this nation was formed, is quite frankly, ridiculous. Get some perspective on the situation before you go crying about the falling sky.
