This isn't exactly a test on geography... more about map reading and country and place knowledge. Plus the map so small that countries such as Lichtenstein can barely be seen. Also, the time you get is ridiculous... One of these should be changed. untimed would result in people googling, but with the size of the map, you wont get it perfectly accurate and you wont get the same satifaction as you would when you do it just on knowledge.
I got 112 on round 10. Despite having studied the places within africa and google earthing constantly... I got my ass whooped.
Did anyone else get asked to place Nagasaki?
The closest I go was 4 km, and that was for NYC.
And yes, I was asked to place both Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The game asks for three things: World Capitals; World Cities; and Famous Places in the World.
I think the people that made this test are Australian...
I find America to be the most difficult. I've heard of Boston sure, I've seen in on tv, I know it's in America and not way up north. But wether it's east, west or central or what stat. well Gah! The only few I know are LA, Miami, Orleans (due to hurricane), NY and Washington. And I know that the car producing cities are around the big lake. Canada is even worse. At least in africa and south east asia, the two other somewhat hard ones, I know about where they are. North America? I just know it exists but where?
I was only two kilometres off Edinburgh in that geography game just then, has anyone got anything similar?
Somehow, I got a higher score than Jolt despite failing the last level:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
You scored more at lower levels but you failed to score enough points at the last level. :P
464,110 level 11, IQ 120.
and it would have been higher, but its a b*** to aim on a map that small.:inquisitive:
at least I got the arab cities all within 50 km :clown:
Yeah, most Arab cities in the program are fairly easy. Dubai, Sanaa, Amman, Mecca, etc.
Couldnt get past level 5.
And yes, the map is too small. Missed Buenos Aires for 300 kilometers.
didnt even make it past level 5.... :shame:
50770 on level 11, first try. That was dissapointing. I have actually memorized every capital on earth. The Russian cities sank me in the last round.
Final Score: 515,979
Final Level: 11
Traveller IQ: 126
You wan'nt an endless quiz?
This one is good.
True. Nation doesn't equal State. Even a State doesn't need to be sovereign, but it is one of the key structures of any normal state. A Nation means a culturally similar people. It comprises of the people inside its Nation-State (If it exists) and its diaspora.
Thus why I didn't even bother to do the quiz. >__>
Guernsey, the other one is Jersey. The canal islands, under the british crown, there is an even smaller one that I cannot recall.
Russian dependencies? Are you talking about Yakutia or Ingushetia? Or maybe Karelia...?:sweatdrop:
(No I did not look this up before I wrote this....)

EDIT:
I knew I wouldnt win the hardest level...

In the heat of the moment, siberia and serbia look awfully similar. =/
Central America and a few pacific islands are what brought me down.
Could only manage 184 000, level 6 with a 92 IQ. :sweatdrop:
369,975
111 IQ
525,045, Lvl 11, IQ 126 Lousy Australian Islands killed me. Why does Australia have islands almost at the coast of Indonesia?
Norway has an island between Argentina and South Africa. >_> Comparing to that, an Australian island in West Indonesia doesn't sound so bad.
