Meh, in my opinion the flags will destroy the uniformity, despite the conservative nature of such a modest proposal. I would rather not see any changes, but that is just me... Perhaps Prussian Iron can be the only one presented with such avatar for now, as others do not seem to be clamouring too vociferously for the institution of flag-avatars.
I like the uniformity of this site too, but faction symbols and flags would be a great addition.Quote:

The French Republic flag ought to be added to the other flags. No way I'd use the Bourbons Fleur de Lys flag. Royalist scums won't rule over the org. :clown:
Joke aside, yes, a bit more variety for the avatars would be nice. Obviously, allowing custom avatars would be a bad idea (just have a look at TWC if you think otherwise). But more choice would be a sound decision. You just have to take them from the TW games and well-known mods (I'm thinking of EB here, if the team is fine with the idea). I'm not even sure ETW portraits are available at the moment.
no etw stuff is available ATM.
and i think this site can handle custom/personal avatars. havent been at TWC in a while, but last i checked they didnt really have any offensive or innapropriate avatars.
plus, how many users on this site would be prone to using an offensive/innapropriate avatar? maybe a few who would be banned?

Its been debated many times I believe. personal avatars are rare, and I believe it should stay that way. Theres hundreds and hundreds to choose from. I picked this one when I signed up and have not changed ever.
Adding the ETW faction flags as avatars would be a great idea. IMO. The three examples shown in this thread are some great work all around. :2thumbsup:

Who is that bloke, a mod I believe, who had that eye that would sparkle and shine every few seconds? That was an animated image, which is even more impressive than Andres' custom avatar. I think Meth should have his avatar though. Just like Andres, it is an edit of a regular TW portrait. Unlike Andres, Methuselah's wish-avatar is more conservative in its nature of modification. Also, unlike Andres, Methuselah is erhm, well, you know who... - which is why he is not going to get the avatar most likely.
I understand, though, that others may follow the suit and demand custom avatars as well, even the conservatively modded one like Meth has. But you short-sighted admins allowed Andres to have his thing, so now the precedent for rebellion has been set!!! :smash:
Unless, of course, we follow Sigurd's suggestion. And those custom avatars better conform to the TW standards. I wish none of the TWC-style avatar-rubbish on these boards :no:. Especially not those boob-and-arse avatar-photos that I so often see on other sites :skull:.
