... You really want to play a game that no one is playing yet you still put off schoolwork just in case someone does respond to your pleas for help.

I'd say when you're playing and someone starts talking to you, when they are finished you intergrate stuff from your game into your response.
Or when you actually can't go to sleep and think about how cool you just pulled something off for THIRTY MINUTES TO AN HOUR. Happens to me all the time...

happens all the time. i often have recollections of my best game on MW2 that night before i can sleep, for around an hour or so.

Re: You know you're addicted to PC gaming when....
Often when I am playing an interesting new game I will think about my game and map out strategies for when I play the next time before/while going to sleep. They are normally quite successful too.
My dad say he does his best thinking while he is asleep, so perhaps it's genetic.

Either get help, or find a girl that games.
I'm going to dinner with a girl next week whose plans for the holidays are: Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Ah, the girl geek. Although I know a couple, I wound up marrying a non-geek girl. Sometimes I wonder how it would have gone if I could talk RPG and FPS and RTS with the little woman ...

Morrowind is a vastly superior game. (except in combat anyway)

including Combat, except maybe arrows and blocking. but i dont like blocking in Obliv anyway; it still takes down your own health. i hate accidently knocking arrows and then having to shoot them and have them be unrecoverable.

Oblivion combat was superb compared to morrowind

Thanks to stuff like the DS and Wii, it's not so socially reprehensible for girls to pick up a controller anymore! I've been on that wagon since 1991, but it's good that the rest of sisterhood's caught on at last. xD
In response to the topic, I now know I actually enjoy playing PC games because I'm doing something that I've never done before; modding. It's only editing text files for EU3 to make my own nation, but it's something that I've never done before and I like the end product... can't get that sort of satisfaction from my 360. :3

Re: You know you're addicted to PC gaming when....
Because you can't have Total War on a console!

Good is subjective. Also depends on the nation the person picks.

OOOOH! Can I get in on an EU3 mp game?

I fail at 99.9% of them, and that's with stuff like inflation turned off and the difficulty on Very Easy as well; Beskar usually gives me a slight advantage in tech/ducats over my neighbours so that I'm not steamrollered within the first five years. Strategy isn't really my forte, but I enjoy the historical aspects of the game and seeing my country's name in big letters across the map... I can be so superficial when it comes to EU3. :laugh4:

'pends what your checksum thingy is, I guess; I've been tampering with files and mine's completely different to Beskar's now, so I might have to clean install to get the checksum back. :<

Re: You know you're addicted to PC gaming when....
Prussian. Well they were basically identical and tbqh I'm not a good person to compare the two as i played oblivion ala 360 and morrowind computer. Both had advantages, morrowind being variety of weapons greater like spears and oblivion in graphics and I think ranged combat and deflection especially.
And I'm ALWAYS an archer in rpgs so I feel qualified to speak on ranged combat. (Not sure why just don't like getting my hands dirty lol)

You can just replace the decisions folder with a clean one, i've been tampering with mine as well, to suit the playstyles of my friends (halved infamy costs, 20 years for a core) We're not using the beta patches, and they non stop complain if its not on very easy with no inflation, so i've been playing plenty of that.
It took me about 60 hours, then a break for a year, then another 5 or 10, to be able to survive as a OPM (one province minor) Once I worked out the economy I was kind of ok.

ah yes archery was far better in obliv. morriwnd archery is crazy, you shoot and it goes off at like a 45 degree angle from where it should haev gone, even when firing downward!

Re: You know you're addicted to PC gaming when....
Best morrowind combo?
Cuirass ofbthe Savior of magic absorption speed enhancers for normal clothes as well. Use the ring from the hollow stump in werewolf expansion. Custom enchanted bow for damage enhancements. Wakizashi custom enchanted to maximize damage and guarantee a single kill. Rock of opening for an amulet using the hlerbu amulet. And the most important thing? Boots of blinding speed baby.
Congratulations you are now invincible

right now, before i get my full daedric, I'm using an Ebony Cuirass, an enchanted Daedric Tower shield with lots of fortify strength, more than enough to cover its weight, and assorted clothing amounting up to somewhere around 80 points of fortify strength, giving me over 900 carry weight. Daedric Claymore enchanted with absorb health on strike 17-19 points for 3 seconds, which basically means health is never a problem, Auriels Bow for cliff racers, bound a Daedric Longsword for minor enemies when i dont want to waste claymore enchantment, with acrobatics at 100, athletics not far behind, and fortify speed about 10 points, i also move very fast and jump far. when i get full daedric i can afford more enchantments to fortify strength and restore magic, which will make me unstoppable with my restore health 55 points spell.

Re: You know you're addicted to PC gaming when....
Heavy armor and melee is for the uncivilized.
I could run around that game in my skivvies boots of blinding speed and with a bow and at level one kill that insane guy in full ebony in the island place in the expansion pack.
Simply put, given enough arrows you are invincible
-
Re: You know you're addicted to PC gaming when....
i do admit that i like to back-track and jump with my 100 acrobatics, while firing off arrows from Auriels bow. though with no marksman stores its difficult to buy arrows.
