ok soi Sunday me and the 16 year old are going to see a movie. I dont see anything really good out, any suggestions for good teenage/date movies?
The Poughkeepsie Tapes.
It's like a romantic comedy.
I dunno, easy ice breaker I suppose... maybe more like tradition??? I still have my movie ticket from my first date with my gf...... and that was 3 years ago.
I think the movies is a great first date! Are you too young and is it too soon to give her a peck on the cheek during the film? Follow it with a nice sit down dinner. Not fast food or take out! If you are low on funds, each pay half. If you don't want to ask or feel like a cheapskate, skip dinner. Mom and Dad might lend you a few dollars. Good one on one time, improves a potential bond quite quickly. If you are out with too many people, you lose track and touch with one another. Dinner and a movie might be generic and an American cliche, but it's fun. And that is all that matters. In my humble opinion anyway.
wow, wow, wow.
Don't knock the food court, there isn't a better follow up to a movie. If your lucky there might be a more "up-market" eatery in the food court, say a Nandos. If this is the case, pass it off like you think it's a genuine restaurant. The only downside is if your running late and said girl has to be back by a certain time so you have to grab a "take away" and eat it on the way back. And remember, you're never too old for the food court.
I agree with you. I forgot about the food court! The food is geneally quite good, you can sit and chat, it is less expensive and convinient! Ha ha, I also forgot that most movie theatres are in the malls nowadays as well! Duh!Quote:

They don't sell Cashews And Milk at the food court though.
:mad::mad::deal2::deal2:
You can buy something oriental, then mix in the cashews. Buy milk at Dunkin Donuts if there is one, and omit the beverage at the oriental restaraunt. Then you can go to the food court and still have cashews and milk. Buy the cashews at a CVS or something if there is on in the mall. A perfect date made even better thanks to the delicious combination of cashews and milk! Get flavored milk too if one should so desire!
So bro have you sealed the deal? DONT LEAVE US HANGING THAT WOULD BE CRIMINAL. I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR ROMANTIC SCHOOL BOY EXPLOITS IT INTRIUGS ME AND ITS SO COOL THAT YOU HAVE TWO TO CHOOSE FROM. FISH IN A BARRELL MY FRIEND
Strike! Have you no respect for the coveted "do not disturb" sign?!
I never understood the "movie date" thing...
It is so... passive... Both sit in darkness and stare at a screen, not really romantic, is it?
When I still bothered I would suprise the girl with something active, paintball, gokart, dance class... The list goes on.
Last proper "date", I showed up at her door with a walz instructor, a pianist, a violinist and a cook. We had dance lessons to live music (lots of laughs from all involved) while the cook prepared a romantic dinner in her own kitchen. Worked wonders.
That might be out of some peoples monetary reach of course, but there are cheaper ways to come up with romantic suprises, heck, pretty much anything beats the cinema...
Monetary reach would be putting on a CD or MP3 player and doing the cooking themselves. Not have an orchestra, professional chef and a private waltz instructor turn up.
Standard dance lesson followed by a picnic then?
Dance lesson for 2 is maybe 40$, picnic even cheaper :)
Or just go and play laser tag, cheap and damn fun!
EDIT: If doing laser tag, remember you dont get points with the girl if you frag her repeatedly and then brag about it ;)
I've always favored a picnic which I put together, carefully and with taste (having gathered a little intel on what she likes ahead of time), red and white checkered throw, basket, and all. Take her to a nice place on a nice day with a nice view. Make sure the weather is good, and there's room for a nice picturesque walk. This scenario allows for the enjoyment of food and drink, and lots of conversation, without a lot of distractions if you go to the right place at the right time.
If conversation, personality, and sincere eye-to-eye expression are strengths, it's hard to go wrong with this. I don't like to waste time (I don't mean getting to sex; I mean getting to know each other well). You can cover much more ground on a date like this than on ten dates to the movies doing things where conversation and one-on-one, face-to-face interaction is inhibited.
But that's just me, and times and people have changed. Maybe this kind of thing doesn't fly with most anymore.
As to laser tag etc., once some time ago when I did a picnic as described, I took my date to a park alongside a local river where there was an archery range, and after lunch on the spur, we rented bows and did some shooting. It was spontaneous and she loved it. She out-shot me too, lol (and I wasn't letting her--I'm a former summer camp instructor for pete's sake--she was just a damn good shot!).
Might be a bit of a turn around, but now...I'm back at square one and I've taken a step forward surprisingly.
after a really great night (won't go over details, but essentially I spent 99.99% with the hot sister and her best friend), her best friend asked if i liked the sister, which sparked a whole conversation and she says that she likes me back too. so now I just have to deal with.....the original.....(evil overshadowing music)
So which one are you gonna do first then?
