yeah but people develop impressions of things. in ten years it may be fedoras with a negative connotation.

Maybe its a cultural thing but here wearing bling = flambuyoant = sissy boy!

i do wear contacts id say 75% of the time. sometimes i dont feel like wearing them though.

i often weasr shirts with cufflinks and i love my watches (seiko divers and skagen dress watch)

i dont dress like a bum.

Edit: cuffs not cufflinks. hell i would want to hit someone who goes to a college bar in cufflinks

Since when is wearing fit clothes dressing like a bum? It actually makes you look better.

Going to a college bar in cufflinks...no. But going to a nice restaurant with a girl, it's required.

I am permanently dressed like a bum. I have one pair of shoes that are kind of like a cross between trainers and boots and I haven't cleaned them since I got them years ago. The only trousers (or pants for Americans) I have are of the tracksuit variety. For t-shirts all I have are some plain ASDA ones but I do have football tops I can wear if I want to look like less of a tramp. Plus in the winter I wear a jacket that looks like it belongs to an old man.

So I guess I look more like a cross between a chav and a bum.

I've got style. :cool:

when your at a restaurant so nice it requires cufflinks....... that means your probably in a suit or at least a sports jacket.

In North America, cufflinks are pretty rare unless you are attending something extemely formal, or if you are involved in the cultural elite (personally I don't hang with the Rothschilds, Gettys, Irvings or the Aspers). I think I wore them to high school prom and to my wedding...maybe as part of a dress uniform, but I don't even remember...

I never wore cufflinks before in my life, but sometimes (for kicks) I'll wear dress pants (slacks?)& shoes, dress shirts (with cuffs), and a tie with gel in my hair. I get a lot more respect when I do this.

But I don't usually roll like that.

I've worn glasses and contacts at various points in my life but have never been accosted because of them. Ok ... maybe in grade school, I was teased sometimes ("Four-eyes!" etc.), but it never got to me. Just kids being kids.

When in my prime and into such things, I enjoyed a few accessories. They included:

• A variety of Revo and Oakley sunglasses (still have my Oakleys that are exactly like Hoot's in Black Hawk Down)
• An Omega Seamaster watch, 18K, stainless, and crystal (still have it but it needs some work)
• A gunmetal gray Zero-Halliburton aluminum briefcase with the advanced locking mechanism (still have it; holds my pistolas)
• A subtle and understated Hawaiian engagement ring (no strings, just a cool understated style; long lost)
• Black, short, skin-tight deerskin cop gloves (need to replace my current ones which are worn out)
• Black, rather plain but elegantly understated, hand-made, leather-soled Lucchese "cowboy" boots
• My trusty and warm Nino Cerruti double-breasted top coat for more formal affairs in cold weather
• My trusty black leather jackets, varying in styles over the years, but usually understated and on the "traditional" side of style

Nowadays I just prefer a t-shirt, jeans, black boots, black belt and either a sport jacket or leather bomber, depending on the scenario. Done with the bling thing.

I've worn glasses since 2nd grade. people stopped fooling with me in highschool. These days I wear "birth control" specs and find that I also need to keep some other kind of birth control on my person.

I would suggest taking it to a specialised watchmaker to check it up and then wear it, always strikes the gentleman chord.
