Your symptoms sound graphics related and a lot like a problem I was having a few years back. My problem was caused by overheating that eventually cracked the solder connection between the graphics chip and the motherboard, and there was no easy fix for that, but it seems there might be an easy software fix for yours: http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Qosmio-...p/118681#M3534 (the rest of that thread might be worth a browse).
