The people over at the TWC amuse me to no end. First they demand a change to the civil war and building systems. Then when it is finally changed, they get all angry for the changes breaking any mods that deal with recruitment...
That's mostly why I never went to those forums.
Yes I saw a quote from Radious complaining...Quote:

I mean isn't the major point of the Radious mod to attempt to fix/work around the very broken stuff?
(haven't actually paid much attention to it but have been aware that its been popular & available early, kinda like early period of RTR)
Having CA actually fix the broken stuff themselves is a good thing & reports are that its gone definitely in the right direction.
Hopefully Radious will find that there is now actually less broken stuff that needs to be fixed.
Yes a PITA for compatibility for the mod makers but its a PITA for a good reason.
Radious has the right to be annoyed. He has worked on his Rome 2 mod since the game was released (and released his first version of the mod only two days after the game released). He has worked many hours on his mod and collaborated with other modders to make hundreds of new units and now that he has to do most of it over again so he has every right to complain. Even then he is still plugging away to make his mod work with the new beta patch. Same goes for all the modders of the game.
The other people though, the people who arent modders and who arent putting in the hours to make their mods, have much less of a right to complain.
Riddle me this batman:
What does someone who wades into the ocean and then waves their fist at the waves have in common with a modder mad because CA patches stuff constantly?
A more accurate version of this riddle would be if the person wading into the ocean had spent a year building a seawall which gets destroyed in a giant wave. Is it futile shaking his fist at the ocean? Of course, nothing he does will make the waves stop coming, and after he picks up the pieces he will get back to work building another seawall. But do we blame him for getting annoyed that he basically has to re-do the work he has done over the past year? No, of course not, getting angry in a situation like this is only normal. But would make me stop feeling pity for him is if he just gave up and called it quits, which he isnt doing.
Patches are going to happen, waves are going to crash. Want to avoid unhappiness in life, set your expectations properly and never waste energy on things beyond your control.
And btw, we'd have a dozen threads going right now complaining about a lack of patches if they weren't happening.
I dont think Radious is mad that they are patching the game and fixing things that were shallow/broken. He's merely venting his frustration of having to basically re-do all his work. He is the sole person to my knowledge making the mod, whereas the other major overhauls like DeI have a big team working on them. That is why DeI is now up to date with the beta patch yet Radious is struggling to catch up with all the new changes. Usually in the past Radious was able to update his mod within 24 hours of the beta patches launching, and not being able to keep up with that time table with this patch is understandably frustrating for the amount of work he must do to make it work again.
Of course he anticipated more patches, I dont think he anticipated one this large and one which is making him basically start over.
I knew that all those people working on the really big overhauls would be in for some fun. I guess it was a good thing that I stopped playing a modded version of the game some time ago.
Yeah, Im not really looking forwards to when patch 15 goes live. Im fairly certain it will wreak havoc with my campaign. Assuming my mods are updated in time...
Well the wave is made by a big dump of rocks in the sea nearby, so yes he has to rebuild but he'll hopefully have a better foundation & shallower water to start with.
The campaigns its going to wreak havoc on most are the ones in the later stages of the campaign, when a civil war is about to happen. Most people dont even bother with planning for the civil war since it was so easy to beat anyways before the "Ides Reforms" took place, and now that the politics changes take effect in all save games, people who were not expecting a civil war might find themselves in desperate straits sooner than expected.
Alright, so the Emperor Edition will be released on September 16th!

It's a good trailer. Looking forward to it.
Official stream playing Emperor beta

Unfortunately Joey is completely incompetent at actually playing so the game comes across as completely ass.
CA please for the love of your games & possibility of earning some income from selling Emperor Edition get Lusted or someone else who actually knows how to play Total War to do all your future gameplay streams.
OK so just skip to 1:20, a different guy comes in who knows how to play, quickly fixes their broken economy & plays some pretty good battles.
I am really excited and happy about this. The beta messes up the encyclopedia some and I wanted a suebi game. I'll wait for the live version. How exactly have they improved the Suebi? I noticed that blademasters now shred infantry. And they have some semi-elite skirmishers. Anything else?
The Daughters of Mars update gave the Suebi more cavalry and infantry/ranged units. Thats about as much as I know.
The first chance I get to buy the DLCs I'm missing at 66% off or higher I'm getting them all. I'm really excited that they finally did things I suggested one year ago. Like tying unit upgrades with iron for example.
Now they absolutely have to fix the stupid Spartan and Athenian roster.
Here is the campaign map for the new campaign:

I like the holocaust possibility it provides us.http://www.adslgr.com/forum/images/smilies/shifty.gif
Im rather excited as its giving me a new AAR idea!
Let's steer clear from that territory, shall we?
:inquisitive:
Oh you should see TWC.. first black people without shoes, then women who aren't mentioned on the sidelines as slaves or wives and now this! :D
