Test of Time Tournament

each faction can be used just once during the tournament, so 2 factions each round. People of Novgorod and the Russians are considered one and the same.


You can use whatever florins you want. you can save 1k on attack, and 2 k on defence if you want which means you'll have 3k more in the next round :).


The first battles have been played, Storm of Shields defeated TW Taiko. Taiko spend 10k each battle, but Storm used 12.5k, so he made it to the 2nd round, but with just 16fl. extra.

I have sent u email of my files for games v RTK bedivere, Although please read my email of the discrepancy in used/unused florins :\ The logs dont show the right numbers.

EliteofBomilkar was victorious in both battles vs wigsomsinister. He too used Russians and Byzantines in the first round. He has saved fl.2992 for the next round

No offence but vs who? no wonder he saved nearly 3k :\ I have a feeling ill be out florined 1.5 - 2k in the second round :P

Maybe their should have been a cap on the florins saved, the thing i dont want to see is someone in the final with 5k vs someone with 8k :\

I see the tournament is well on its way.

I also don't like the "saving money system" too much but i'm lookin forward to playin this tourney (and not messing up like i did in that 3v3 swoosh http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif ). Let's just play and see how it works.

Yes Swoosh, I know, I will however take the saved florins in account when matching up players in the next round.

I had doubts about wigsom wether or not he was an undercover player. I did my best to even things out, and will do so in round 2 as well.

I've uplaoded the replays&logfiles of swooshvsBedivere and the replays of bomi vs wigsom.

Also, I checked the logfiles, and to me swoosh it seems you've saved fl 8,- on your russian army and fl. 1085,- on your Byz army ?

Try releasing and renewing your ip address. This worked for me on two occasions recently when I mysteriously couldn't host.

Mithrandir i think the problem is caused when you pick more than 4 of the same unit so amps 8 byz army will report more florins being saved than actually were and mines is worng i only saved 500-600. Remember on unit picking screen when i for example pick 5 byz inf the cost of all the units shows as higher although- only the 5th unit costs more florins. I wonder if that has anything to do with it . the 8 florins seems right but 900 is wrong. im sure i saved 500-600.

You have the logfile so you can see what units and upgrades you had. Just buy the same army in a custom battle and see what the total cost is...simple http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ons/tongue.gif

In order to address the florin annomily on unit selection (ie due to more than 4 units of same kind etc)and make things easier for Mith, maybe we should all take a screen pic of unit selection page (florins used etc) for remaining matches.

Swoosh: Although I do understand your concerns, to me this is something that puts more flavour into the tourney. Of course, if we would face, I could use more fl. but if I do, I would not stand any chance in round 3. Sure it is not completely even, but I like the poker aspect of the games. You can risk a lot and maybe loose and drop out of the tourney or you can win and save more fl.

If we should meet in the tourney, I might risk a lot and even might try to save some fl. for later :P.

I think it would be better if all the brackets were set in stone-- so you could see who you would face next round if you win this round. But anyway, I dont mind the twist and I'm always up for a tourney. Good work Mith.

Well first priority is to get the florin amounts right ill let you know if i think of anything. Ill ask magy if he knows what the problem is.

Maybe LadyAns' /Almicars logfile readers do show the right amount ?

I still havent found them though, could someone provide me with a link please ?

Ithaskar and me just finished our games and (as I expect to glors great surprise http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif ) I won both of them. I was able to save 2398 florins and just sent replays printscreens and logs to glor.

As for the logfiles, thanks for the link Alioven, but they're no good either since neither of them takes in account the extra costs of units after the 4th :(.
