Tips&tricks

Lol, Nice little story there, but I have one slightly similar (i.e. it involves being a little mean). This was while I was in school. I didn't even know the girl, wasn't even really aware she existed, and likewise for her. She's a year older than me and she was a prefect, doing her lunchtime queue duties when there was no queue. I was walking up some stairs nearby to go to an Organ lesson when I heard her ask what type of meat is in shepherds pie. I couldn't believe this and yelled out 'Lamb you fool' and carried on walking. This got her to notice me but I still didn't notice her. Apparently she then started to stalk me in a very light hearted way, she asked her friends who were on the same bus as me (I wasn't bording) who I was etc. Then, we bumbed into each other at a christmas ball in the nearest city and we got together there.

We're no longer together (broke up after 6 months) but it shows you how acting yourself will get you noticed :P

Be nice, but don't be a nice guy. You know, the kind of guy that will do anything for a woman and isn't afraid to show it.

And of course, personal hygiene is paramount. Good looks are lower on the priority list than hygiene. You could look like Brad Pitt, but if you have BO, you have bad breath and your fingernails are longer than your woman's, you're not going to get any.

I´m not sure anymore. I think she made a dismissive remark about one of my lifestyle choices (as being a metalhead).

If I remember correctly it was a normal coke, not diet. I think there was a shot of rum in it.

Seems there were these two brothers, Sean and Pat. Now Sean was a real ladies' man, always had a couple on the hook. Pat was homelier than a mud fence on a rainy day.

Becoming depressed about getting nowhere with the ladies, Pat asked Sean to fix him up. Sean did, setting up a blind date with the friend of one of his current girlfriends. Pat agreed and said he understood.

So along comes date night, and Pat comes draggin' home about 9:30 in the evening, looking like he'd been run over by a cement truck. Sean looked up, Date over already?

Yeah.

Didn't go well? You look terrible.

No.

Pat, what am I gonna do with you? Did you complement her?

Well, Pat stammered, she was so ugly that I had a hard time coming up with something. Her eyes were two different colors. She had her head shaved, and she wasn't built very well.

So what did you complement her on?

Well, I finally just told her--while we were dancing--that, you know, for a fat girl, you sure don't sweat much.

If you don't believe in yourself it will make it hard for her to have confidence in you.

Ask her out on a date.
Praying may work, but have you seen how successful the Popes have been lately? If you want to go out on a date you will have to ask. Not always true, but if you are asking for tips they aren't asking you out.

Have plans for the date.
Ambition is often marked by ones planning and the ability to communicate these plans. Ambition... the ability to look forward to looking after oneself. Biological dynamite. The opposite of my definition of ambition is a couch potatoe with poor hygene.

Be polite to her and everyone around her.
You can practice this one without her. Most rude people are rude because they have problems... bad day, bad bowels, bad boss... does she really want a potential loser?

Be yourself.
If you are funny be funny, if you are a Dungeons and Dragons geek or MTW freak be yourself... just don't unleash your hobby all out once. Try and find common ground first before diverse interests.

Saying you want to be a doctor seems to work too. Must be the ambition thing. Saying you want to be a physicist has the exact opposite effect...

Studying nature as it really intrigues me, I wonder about the stars above and the world around us, one day I would like to contribute to saving the planet from pollution, but till then I would like to explore the world

it comes across much better then

I study physics, I really like astrophysics I hope one day to use my understanding of the photoelectric effect, fluid dynamics and quantum theory to help make a contribution to science that should result in more efficient energy creation, but until then I'm going to work for international mining corporations that strip mine rainforest for all those earrings you are wearing..

i almost asked out a girl who was already in a relationship once, as it happened when the relationship broke up a month latter i went out with her.

definetly become friends with her friends, but not friends with her, although i myself have successfully navigated the friend to girl-friend path on a number of occasions, i do not advise it

I have a good one for picking up scandinavian chicks on holiday.
Say something like: 'Why do Swedish girls have a reputation for being ice queens (ie cold and distant)?' After which they'll try to convince you that they are not cold and distant. It really works.
