I particularly love the improved nav points system, of which it was buggy in STW and MTW in which u cannot make a walking unit run to nav pts 1/2 way en route.. and they always walk to attack the enemy even when you double click them.
but i really dont like the green chevrons on the ground.. ghosts are much better.
Are we playing the same game? I've installed 1.1 or at least so it says when I try reinstalling it (in default dir) also note I have reinstalled the entire game as well. I've got a brand new system with high specs. Yet I still cannot use ctrl or alt click to move units in form. Alt click only works with 1 unit and ctrl click only works for 1 group and at that your cav is bound to do it's own thing.
Simply put if we had a Classic UI that functioned that way it did in STW & MTW we wouldn't even be on these forums posting half of the problems we are for the realtime tactical battles.
So unless you got the $50's to burn save your money for an expansion as this game will only dissappoint you, that is if you are a veteran of the previous games in the series. Newbs on the other hand are bound to be awed by it, simply because it was geared toward catching the RTS audience... rather than evolving into a wargamers tactical dream.
My vote is for a CLASSIC UI if this is not possible then at least fix the AI! Please! ...until then I'll be playing MTW...
Thank you
Re: RTW patch suggestions
I'd like to add:
- You can take as many of the same unit as you like at no extra cost.
-- In MTW you could take 4 of the same unit for the same cost and the 5th would cost more. In RTW I think that this number should be 5 and the 6th would cost more because you have 4 more slots (20 instead of 16)
- Upgrading Honor, Weapon and Armor cost the same price each time you upgrade.
-- I believe, like in MTW that if 1 weapon point costs a certain amount of money, the 2nd weapon point should cost a percentage more... not the same.
Re: RTW patch suggestions
I agree w/ all of the above complaints. One control thing that I do like that they changed, and I applaud, is that moving is now right click and select is left click instead of left contolling both. I don't have issues w/ trying to move units and accidently selecting ones that are in the way. However, it doesn't do me any good as I've found armies are almost impossible to control coherently.
Re: RTW patch suggestions
another thing, cntrl+h should select all Hand to Hand... but it only selects infantry and not cav.
