I was trying to figure out a screen name my freshmen year and i had just bought a TIMEX watch. I spelled it backwards, but that was taken. My last name starts with a G so i put a G on the end and i came up with xemitg. I figured at the time it looked all ghetto so i just stuck with it.
i came up with becuase i was about to buy tribes and one of my mates who already owned the game was called RavingGrizzly so i decided to have the Grizzly part and i put little infront of it cause i was really short at the time.

All started with play Diablo 2 online. I wanted to be a barb, who specialized in cold attacks and weapons with cold properties. So I just added Knight to the end of it cause it sounded cool.

The first forum I joined was a "Palm" one, as I had a "Tungsten T" = KiwiTT. I joined a WWII wargaming, then TT stood for "Tiger Tank" and as I drive "Twin-Turbo" I joined a car forum with TT again. Oh, and as I live in New Zealand, I thought "Kiwi" would suit
On this Total War site, I can't think of what TT could stand for except possibly "T eu T onic", but that would be stretching it. (I am of Dutch-German descent though.)
Anyhow "KiwiTT" sounded good, and I have stuck with it.

Long time since this came up. OK, here we go...
Mouzafphaerre is the bastardization (with fake French spelling) of Muzaffer, which originally is مضفر, which means "victorious, triumphant". I used to play a very totalwar-like windows shareware, World Empire, in which you were supposed to conquer the modern world for your faction as a general and Muzaffer Postal (the triumphant boots) sounded funny to me at that time, for a generals name. Come the age of internet, I needed an alias for forums etc. and just shortened & bastardized it.
Hayreddin Barbarossa was chosen for the naval/pirate themed games and became more famous than Mouzafphaerre. ~:)

IΔΟΜΕΝΕΑΣ was the king of Crete during the Trojan war period. He was the second in command in the army and a very important figure even if he is not given so much credit. My father comes from Crete so i chose that for a nickname ~:)
Back in the times when i played Q2,Q3 and UT(yeah, only shooters in those days), i used to call myself "MajorPain", but that name just didnt seem to fit in the TW games. I just didnt feel myself comfortable with the title "major" if actually played a general, or a king...
So, i decided to get back to some more local and natural stuff, which is the way ppl around here uses to call me... and there it is!! (Now, it would be strange for you to know that my real name is not Roberto or Alberto :dizzy2: )
I have used several over the years. For example my name in B&W is Moradin, the god of Dwarves in D&D. But my new one, Uesugi Kenshin, seems to be the best of them all. I started using it last November, on the first to be precise. The night I became a Junior member here at the .org. It has served me well since and will continue to be my main screenname for quite a while.
Oh, yeah the question. I wanted something that fit with TW and me. Uesugi Kenshin has always been my favorite SJ general and I like the idea of lending the name of a great general to my RTS victories and defeats.

the first forum i ever joined was for a wargame called napoleon 1813. and louis nicholas davout is my favorite general from that time period, so i chose davout as my nick and transferred that over here when i joined here. after a while though, i felt it was improper for me to use a name of an actual historical personage since suprise, suprise, i am not actually loius nicholas davout.
i had become interested in the bonds between the great Captains and their Lieutanants, like caesar and his legates, alexander and his companions, napoleon and his marshals etc. and there is always a jealousy and jockeying for power between the Captain and his Lieutanants, and between the Lieutanants themsevles for position, prestige and power. i didn't find it however between genghis khan and his nokhor. it basically means comrade, brother in arms, good buddy etc. genghis khan murdered a brother, almost killed another brother, murdered his shaman and killed his blood brother. but as far as i know, there was never any animosity, hatreds etc between genghis and his nokhor, or between the nokhor themselves. so i liked the idea of this instinctive, indisoluble bond of loyalty between these men.
I joined at the time of the first Shogun TW, so I chose a Japanese name.
"Tachikaze" was a WWII Japanese destroyer. Most had beautiful names like "Morning Calm" (Asanagi, which I seriously considered and use in other forums), "Month of First Buds", and "Evening Thunder Shower in Summer". Tachikaze means the "Wind from a Sword Stroke". Not quite as beautiful, but approprate for a game such as STW.
I use "Bachikaze" for my drumming name. It's a name I coined meaning "Wind from a Drumstick Stroke".
I first started using this name in September, when I used it for the (awesome) PS2 game called Monster Hunter. Since I'm obviously Romanian, I wanted a Romanian namke back then, and finding no other appropriate name for this forum, I just carried the name over.
About the time I joined my first forum I had finally managed to track down another copy of the Jerry Cornelius books by Michael Moorcock. (and if I ever find who nicked my last copy...) Its one of my favourite books. The blurb on the back of this edition said "Time hopping anti-hero Jerry Cornelius devastes, copulates, dies, and comes back from the dead- frequently" which more or less describes the books and is frankly a whole lot more interesting than life as a lawyer.
I do use Jerry Cornelius on a biking forum but its not brilliant because people think its your real name, and an odd one too. So, as book two of the quartet is "the English Assassin" I choose that. It didn't occur to me til afterwards that people would probably think I had chosen the name of a unit in MTW, oh well...
People are always asking about my name; so few Thief fans out there, it really is quite sad. :cuts and pastes her most recent explanation, tweaks it a little to make sense without the article from the other topic:
It comes from the game Thief: The Dark Project, an absolute masterpiece that everyone should go and play NOW! There were these little amphibian critters roaming around a few of the levels; they were called frog beasts. If hit or provoked into defending their territory they exploded. They were fast, deadly, and so silly they were funny. Frog beasts hatched from eggs, and occasionally you found those eggs lying around for collection. You could use them rather like grenades, tossing them to the ground near an enemy and hoping the frog beast went after the AI character, not you.
frogbeastegg comes from a desperate lack of inspiration when choosing my first internet screen name. I flicked through my copy of the Thief book in the hopes of gaining an idea, and it opened to the frog beast egg entry. This also explains the lack of a capital at the start of my name; I didn't automatically capitalise it because it didn't feel much like a name back then. It only dawned on me a few months later that there should be a capital. From inauspicious beginnings the name has really taken off and proven both versatile and full of comic potential; I love it.
Hehe, a frog beast could really ruin a master thief's day. There you are, hiding stealthily in the shadows, congratulating yourself on your stunningly stealthy evasion of a patrolling guard when suddenly you hear this trilling, croaking noise. You look down just in time to see a small frog perched at your feet. Then it explodes, killing you instantly. That's what you get for invading its little froggy home unawares.
Well a 'frag' is an internet kill, and agony is what I brought, so it became fragony.

My nickname came from my little story that I wrote about the Byzantines iff they survived the Turkish conquest (one of my fantasies) and the epithet of the savior of the Byz is the Draconian and I used it with my obsessions with dragons and drakes. One of my friend's nickname is comrade index-card because he says thats he is the reincarnate of Stalin so he used Stalin's nickname.

I chose Berserker! because that I love to use berserkers in RTW. They are really cool with their shaking a fist at their enemys ( I once saw one put up his finger!~D ) and also their weapons.

Hrvoje is a Croatian name that I find a bit silly (no offense to the real people meant) and I use it often when telling jokes, so I decided to use it as my online alias. It's also quite unpronounceable to English speakers.
J comes from the abbreviation of the alias' last name.
