Re: 1st All Britannia Challenge Cup
Am I the last man standing? That is a shame. Game is just beginning to become more exciting. I landed near Caralis last night. Besieged the town that was held by a Scipii FM only. Then a big Scipii army landed in my back and I fought them. Although being outnumbered I killed 1808 and lost only 221. My faction leader did a very good job. However, he died the very next turn. Romans are not better than Gauls.
By the way, I lost my first battle - aginst Gauls. They managed to bring a multistar general from France to Spain. He menaged to attack a reenforcement group (1 FM 1 sword 1 dog) and won. Now I am hunting him :charge:
Re: 1st All Britannia Challenge Cup
im still with ive just been busy since the weekend
what year are you in. im in about 257 and i have only taken spain
i am about to attack palma
i think i need to restart. im going too slow
maybe next time ill agressively take cordoba then take palma
that is i good province and it would supplies troops faster than marching them from asturica and scallibis
or maybe you build up in britain and then march through gaul destroying their armies then descend upon italy and quickly deafeat rome then youve got the best possible base to launch attackes of the med setsail for palma, sicily, and sardinia, then turn towards greece side taking crete, and rhodes then build up some major forces and capture cyprus and attack jerusalem and damascus meanwhile land forces from home to attack the amzons
just an idea
i will play today and report on progress
Re: 1st All Britannia Challenge Cup
I bypassed Palma and took Caralis in 250. So I am much slower than you are. I did not attack Carthage so far. They have so many ships and are a good ally fighting Romans. I will either attack Messana or Capua. This depends on where the Scipii army is. Maybe both. The things will speed up, I hope ~;)
Re: 1st All Britannia Challenge Cup
Problem is that you need some troops in Old England to fight rebels, you need 1-2 armies in Spain because every province has a border to Gaul. So you do not have eneough money for your offensive army and your fleet.
I decided to attack Sicily with a half filled army. It worked very easy. All three towns were held by the Scipii. First Messana. I stormed through the open gate and took it at once. Syracuse had stone walls. I laid besiege on it and had it after only 4-5 turns. Same to Lily. It was so easy that I decided to take south Italy. Conquered Croton so far.
On the other side I lost Osca. My 'Spanish' army was busy hunting rebels in the east and the Gauls took me by surprise. I started a punishment campaign, but due to the rules I may not attack the town. ~
Finally Carthage decided to attack Gaul. Hope this will decrease their pressure on me.
I also lost most of my boats. Gauls and Roman fleets are too strong. I do not have money to built ships. And most of my ports are blocked.
I will go on pushing throug Italy trying to make money.
Re: 1st All Britannia Challenge Cup
It is 229.
I attacked Tarentum and took the town. :balloon2:
Brutii are no more on the peninsula. Big stacks of Scippi and Julii come from the north. If they attack I will kill them and take Capua.
My kill ratio is 4,0. In total I killed 28273 and lost 5908.
...............kills .....lost............r
rebels .....8555.......1155....... 7,4
gauls .....1047.......1111....... 9,4

Re: 1st All Britannia Challenge Cup
Gosh Franc, one man show here eh? What's the prize? ;-) Maybe next we can have a Greek Cities challenge cup and I'll see if I can duplicate my 40 provinces-in-30-turns feat :-D
