Re: British Comic Books better than American?
Well what about Slain comics? I really loved then and still do.
About american comics. I think there are many many GREAT comics comming from US but most of them tend to stay on surface. The story plots (i cant complain about design) have a more commercial direction especially DC and Marvel. Though artists like Frank Miller and editions like Savage Sword of Conan really excelled!
Judge dredd was one of my favourites.

Re: British Comic Books better than American?
Whooaa! Cecil.B.DeMill meets Dan Dare. Gotta say that's some inspiring artwork,I can see a lot of comics ancestry there, well before it's time.
So how was the story? was there a copious amount of birds, booze and drugs as you mentioned earlier?
Can't help but feel it might have reinforced obiediance to social hierachy....But then again I'm champing at the bit for 'backroom privledges',my spleen needs venting!
Re: British Comic Books better than American?
Yes the artwork is good, just how I remember it from 35 years ago. ~;)
BTW I was jesting about Janno and the birds and drugs...it's more like the Roman Empire if it had survived up to the present day. Moreover the storylines are very very good and exquisitley crafted.
Think Gaeus Julius Ceaser with Hans Solo and Ming the Merciless, with all their accoutrements. ~
EDIT: Memory like a seive ~D ...You can read ALL the stories on the site

Slain as in Slaine the Celt from 2000AD?
His last story was far better than the previous 5 years worth of output... hopefully they can keep up the quality.

The recent line up in 2000AD is great, Caballistics Inc is a great horror strip, Shakara has recently taken a meaningless single topic strip and begun to delve into the whys and wherefores, whilst Judge Dredd... what can I say, recent stories have been fantastic! I simply cannot wait to read the next installments!
2000AD is available in the US and elsewhere if people are interested.
