I am considering serving in the RAF as a pilot for Hercules's.
So far I am getting the grades but its whether i want to do that or follow my childhood dream of becoming a Palaeontologist.

Of course you know (assuming you get accepted and pass basic flying training) that you will have no input whatsoever on whether you get streamed onto jets or multi-engined, let alone the specific aircraft.
