Panzer. Check yourself. You just compared Ann Coulter to freaking Mark Twain.
Just got done checking myself. Everything is where it should be - no worrying lumps or moles. Thanks for your concern.
Now then, I would suggest some people in this thread reconsider how much credibility you give Ann. She's only as important as you make her. Is Al Franken the voice of the left wing movement? ~;)
She hasnt been on the best seller list for so long due to her political views, but her ability to put them in a comical format that is fun to read. Her worth is in her ability to make politics entertaining, shes not a policy maker for heaven' sake! No one making important decisions says "Lets get Ann's take on this." ~D

As per my post in the other thread, Ann Coulter used to be a man. She was a he. At least, it certainly looks that way. Big hand, deep voice, Adam's apple. Ann Coulter obviously used to be Andy Coulter
But what a rack on her. ~D Theres always the old paper bag trick.

We're not saying that we don't see the satire. We're just saying that she's not very smart.

Ill post this for the 4th or 5th time. Can any of you match these credentials?

Ann Coulter is the author of three books, all New York Times best sellers -- Treason: Liberal Treachery From the Cold War to the War on Terrorism (June 2003); Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right (June 2002); and High Crimes and Misdemeanors:The Case Against Bill Clinton (August 1998). Her next book will be released this fall.
Coulter is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a popular syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including Hannity and Colmes, Wolf Blitzer Reports, At Large With Geraldo Rivera, Scarborough Country, HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, The O'Reilly Factor, Good Morning America and has been profiled in numerous publications, including TV Guide, the Guardian (UK), the New York Observer, National Journal, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle magazine, among others. She was named one of the top 100 Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner in 2001.
Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates.
After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion.
A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review.
.
What a moron huh? The women is funny. You guys take her to serious. The more you say things about her like that the better she likes it. It means she strauck a nerve. There always has to be a bit of truth in humor.
And strike shes gonna be kinda pissed at you if she sees this. Making her name French. Its Coulter not Coultier. Like she said she dosent hate all Canadians only the french speaking ones. ~;) France is another country high on her list of favorites.
That was some pretty funny stuff. I guess you think Tucker really thinks most Canadians go dog sledding also.

As a Canadian may I be the first to say; Who Cares! She makes cracks about Canada, France, etc. I like people like Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, and Ann Coulter who say things that others are too afraid to say, or have too much common sense to say.

As for her credentials: being on a New York Times Bestseller's list is no indication of intellegence. Nor is college, for that matter, except in highly selective areas.
I don't see the relevance of the rest.
Hell, Hunter S. Thompson graduated from college, and he had multiple bestsellers- and you wouldn't call him intellegent if someone threatened to saw off your testicles if you didn't. But I think he is one of the great minds of our time.
This stuff is all subjective. And the sooner you recognise that, the better, for your sake.

Really? Nah, man, shes a satirist.. its subjective if shes a good one or not, but she is. ~;)
Quote:
Coulter gained prominence in the field of conservative commentators with her brand of outspoken criticism of many liberal and Democratic Party figures and policies over the past half-century. She quickly established a reputation as a controversial and colorful speaker, and indeed has relished this role (Coulter, August 2002). As she told The Sunday Times in 2002, "I am a polemicist. I am perfectly frank about that. I like to stir up the pot. I don't pretend to be impartial or balanced, as broadcasters do."
Coulter has said she likes to read anything written by humorist Dave Barry (Coulter, January 2004), and she often employs comic techniques similar in style to his writings.
I think you guys take her more seriously than she takes herself. ~D

Yes and you can throw Rush Limbaugh into that mix also. Its called irreverant humor and their all good at it . I used to love Don Rickles and Jackie Brown. Archie Bunker was the best at it though ~D These people are entertainers for crying out loud.

Which conservatives have ever voted for her? Which conservatives mention her as a mentor or an inspiration?
Ann is not a critical conservative thinker, shes just a conservative satirist. Someone conservative thinkers read to get some light entertainment. You're acting as if shes some sort of leader or something.
Her books are meant to be funny and make you think. Thats all.. You are one of the only people who calls himself conservative that I have ever seen take her so seriously. If you're going to be a righty, you need to get a sense of humor man! ~:)

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
Why do I have this feeling that those who are coming to protect their precious Ann Coulter is just either agreeing with her irrationally offensive opinion - a satire, perhaps, but used, blatantly, as news - or just have a liking over her anorexic body? ~:grouphug:
-
Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
Ok, Panzer I'm really confused by this. So she's trying to be funny by being stupid and offensive? How are we supposed to know if she means any of the statements she makes. It's like saying that George Bush should be excused for the stupid and untterly non-sensical things he says because he's trying to be funny!
If it worked like that then she should acknowledge the fact that she is not a serious person, or I'm sure there's people that will believe everything she says. I'm certain there are people like that. They might even be most of her audience.
I'm serious. I'm not joking. Repeat, I'm NOT joking. She is not funny at all! Maybe funny in an annoying way.

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
I have a sense of humor and ann is not funny and i am conservative i just don't like ann can I have my own view on her or does this mean im out of the club :embarassed:

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
I'm gonna agree with BP. If she's trying to be funny, she ends up making herself look stupid. GW stupid, that is.

Ann never stumbles over her words. Again the woman is brilliant. You just dont like her style.

You guys really dont get it. Thats her schtick. If she didnt insist she meant every word of it you wouldnt take her serious and she wouldnt get the reaction from you that shes seeking.

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
I think that the consensus here, except among those who have a "thing" for Ann Coultier's bony, half-dead corpse of a body, is that Ann Coultier is NOT funny, even if she is trying to be (which I do think she is; she's just not doing a very good job of it.)
You want humour? Here's some humour for you:

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
LoL this thread is hilarious. You guys are mulling over the political leanings and comedic value of Ann Coulter! Its almost as funny as it is pathetic.
Shes about as important on the political spectrum as I am.. get a grip! You dont have to be so melodramatic all the time! :laugh4:

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
They are also mulling over your opinions, Panzer. I agree with you about Coulter being unimportant (though she is no Mark Twain!) I don't think you need to get worked up about them getting worked up about her.
Coulter should be a subject we can all share with a laugh - same as Moore and many other crackpots. They should be uniters, not dividers ( ~;) ).
-
Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos
I think that more people are offended by the fact that you compared her to Mark Twain than her offensive not-funny-at-all opinions or her anorexic body, Panzer. It is quite an insult to the great writer, you know...

If she´s a satirist, wouldn´t that mean she´s actually a left-wing satirist? I mean, she obviously plays the caricature of a conservative political commentator. She´s making fun of the conservative position by ridiculing it. I guess she´s a die-hard liberal with a good sense of humor.

Well let me get this straight. Did you read what said? I told you that a lot of people wouldn't tell the difference. There's a lot of ignorant people out there to whom she would make absolute sense! Probably most of her audience.
It's not like Bill O'Reily is THAT much less outragious then her, and don't tell me people take him as a big joke. Polls have been done from people that watch FOX news and it shows they think that Iraq has WMD's, and that Saddam Hussein caused 9/11.
Please reply to this without the "HAHAHAAHA! You a guys are soooo funny. It's all fun and games!", because these people HAVE serious influence on a large part of America, and so influence who get's the vote as well. almost 2,000 more Americans are dead because of that meaningless war to make a few people rich.

Its not my fault idiots exist BP. What do you want me to say? "Yes Ann Coulter is bad because idiots dont understand her writing style and they might take her seriously!"
Hell no, im not going to let idiots dictate what forms of writing should be done. If these unwashed masses you refer to are not swayed by Ms. Coulter, im sure they will be swayed by someone else at some point.
Should we get rid of your beloved Nietzsche because plenty of people dont understand him? Because he turned out to be a bit of a nutter?

But it is funny BP. Youve obviously formed your opinion of American politics based on those CBC "documentaries" you linked earlier - and thats damned funny.
Who is influenced by Ann Coulter? Nobody. Shes on the nightly debate shows because shes fun to watch. Whats outrageous thing is Ann going to say tonight? Who is she going to insult? Its just entertainment.
You seriously need to stop letting the CBC fill your head with false assumptions about American politics. Those documentaries were completely BS... they went far beyond the realm of conservative or liberal bias into outright lies. American soldiers are not dead because of Ann Coulter. ~

Re: Ann Coultier, and Tucker Carlson are crazy mofos

Anyone who takes a statement of Ann Coulter's seriously and doesnt comprehend the obvious satire that laces the comment, should not be taken seriously themselves.
What is truly sad and funny about this is that it is true, yet millions of today's so-called conservatives take her at her word and believe much of what she says is true.
To be exact, she doesn't doesn't do satire. She is not making fun of the eccentricities of the far right, which would be satire. No, she is simply a purveyor of the outlandish. She exists for shock value alone. She lacks two important things: one she isn't funny - in other words her material is weak, so she comes up short as a comedian, and two, she lacks objectivity and respectability so she fails as a journalist.

I dont know a one. All have pretty much the same thoughts on her as Panzer and I that I know. Shes great entertainment. Yes we agree with her pemise usually but its the extremes she goes to to make her point that are so much fun. I dont like what Bill Maher has to say but I have to admit he is funny. Again there has to be some truth in humor.

Yeah she should get a show on comedy central to balance out John Stewart. Only good conservative show on that network is South Park.

South Park Republicans Explained
Television viewing for some rock-ribbed Republicans need not be limited to reruns of The Lawrence Welk Show on PBS.
While it's not family-friendly fare, Comedy Central's "South Park" appeals to many young people who may be inclined to support ideas advanced by Republicans and conservatives, particularly those with a libertarian streak. (But again, some of the language on the show definitely won’t appeal to many conservatives.) Such people even have earned a label: "South Park Republicans."
Quote:
The show is widely condemned by some moralists, including members of the Christian right. Yet in spite of its coarse language and base humor, the show persuasively communicates the Republican position on many issues, including hate crime legislation ("a savage hypocrisy"), radical environmentalism, and rampant litigation by ambitious trial lawyers. In one episode, industrious gnomes pick apart myopic anti-corporate rhetoric and teach the main characters about the benefits of capitalism."
Quote:
As the show’s co-creator, 32-year-old Matt Stone, sums it up: 'I hate conservatives, but I really f—ing hate liberals.'"
