Re: BI (still) too easy for aggressive players
WRE, I have now found out, looks very difficult but gets quite easy after a few turns. Let cities you can't hope to hold go rebels, but destroy all troops buildings in them first. In all settlements with low quality troop buildings, tear them all down. In as many cities as possible with at least 25 percent Christians, tear down pagan temples and build Christian shrines. The cities that went rebel will now only have peasants and perhaps 1 general, and so are easy to retake. Exterminate when retaking, and you get a lot of money. Try to take Sirmium from the ERE as soon as possible, and exterminate. Move north and take the Alemanni capital early, and the Alemanni are history. Whenever you get money, invest it in peasants for garrisons, chapels for public order = increased taxe rate possible, and economical buildings. After a few turns economy stabilizes. The limitanei are quite worthless so many of them can be disbanded. Foederati infantry are good spearmen, and comitatenses are good heavy infantry. Keep those, and archers. A quick rush against the celts destroyed their faction in my game, which made things easier in Britain. Now I'm trying to convert the entire empire to Christianity just for fun, while expanding step by step. The berber capital is my next target.

What exactly does rtr do? I've been to the site, and there's not a lot of specific info.
Game play is number one priority here too!!
That is why RTR 6.2 is great. Much better game play.
(but not play Bartix, they are boring (or was in 6.0) ~ )
Go back to vanilla, it feels very silly.
RTR 6.2 is 3 wishes: better game play, more eye candy, more realistix.
As said SA, longer battles.
Lovely units!! (look and feel) (no piss ants)
Must assimilate new conquest before (re)training units, so blitz is challenging.
Huge map, much world to conquer.~:)
I was sceptic to RTR also, and did not like early version. 6 is great in many ways!
May be you like extreme grognard mod I tried.~;) (not remember exact name or location)
