A racist problem

In my younger days it was acceptable to pummel such idiots into the dirt. Being as things are now, you probably have to report the comments and let the system handle it. Either that or do something I have some experience with...baiting the moron to throw the first punch.

Depends on your fighting skills, but if you know how to detect the movement step back/slide sideways then tag the clown, it is very fulfilling. They get the consequences of attacking you, while you get the joy of beating the crap out of them in self defense. Yes, I've done this a few times...ahhh...those younger days. ~:cool:

Curb stomp them? They're white right? So go with

I say join them and become racist swine yourself.

Tell them that it bugs you and that they are cowards and dare them to say it to somebody's face like a man. Then come up with hilarious black supremacist jokes, like:

Or how about this one....

Or how about this 'un:

Racism seems to be a bigger issue in some countries then others. But like a lot of other attributes it ain't race based.

Saw an interesting documentary on the weekend about African-American units in WWII stationed in Australia...

There is nothing funny about racist jokes or thinking that someone is a crybaby for standing up for themselves to racists or the weaklings who support racism.

I can take a sheep joke and an Aussie or NZ joke as well as the next guy. I however try and stay off race specific jokes unless I am counter slapping someone and/or I have that line of ancestory.

As others have said, I would give them a verbal slap down that would totally attack their ego, the louder the better, the more people that hear them getting ripped on the better. And if it happened to bait them into swinging at you, so be it. Either kick their tails or take a beating, despite the consequences you have shown that you don’t take crap.:knight:

In the alternative your verbal slap down might just make them laugh and in that case you could take that as an opportunity to offer to buy them a pop/soda and become friends.~:)

As to the main topic/question:

Racist jokes are never funny, IMO.

Whenever somebody tells a racist joke/makes a racist comment in my presence, I tell them that I think that kind of talk is dusgusting and ignorant. It has caused some awkward situations, and even cost me a "friend." I put the word "friend" in quotes because if someone has those kind of beliefs, they really are no friend of mine to start with.

Anyway Stranger, you just need to decide if these guys are worth your time. I suspect they are not. But if you decide they are, then tell them how you feel about what they are saying. If they persist, then they have just proved that they are not worth your time after all, so it's an easy decision to just cut them loose.

Chris Rock I can take or leave (meaning I like some of his stuff, but dislike some of it also). I don't know who George Lopez is. George Carlin? His humor doesn't seem to be race-based, if I recall. He's more of an angry, "stick-it-to-the-Man" type of guy.

George Lopez is a Latino comedian who has a TV show but use to do standup, his routines usually included stereotypical Latino racist jokes like Chris Rocks standup usually includes stereotypical black racist jokes. George Carlin’s "stick-it-to-the-Man" routines have occasionally hit a racist theme. But that is all beside the point I was getting at. :bow:

I think judging racist jokes depends pretty much on the context.

There is quite a difference between

a) overemphasizing racist cliches to ridicule these cliches and present a mirror to the audience

or

b) just making cheap shots to slander people

Sometimes the difference is obvious in a given context or through the overall tone of the joke - sometimes the line between the two is very fine and even the person who makes the joke might have difficulties realizing on which side of the line he/she is moving.

the fact that they involve races doesnt make them racist...like nazi and kkk racistic but i dont mind minor "racistic jokes" as long as they arent intended to hurt someone i like all jokes

and i Soly i never said that racism is and was a big problem in my life, ive just gut a minor/medium problem now. i nver accused them of really being racist cuz i think they arent, theyre just very prejudiced and dont know how to handle the problems in our country and they just start bullying and pointing fingers at a certain group :hide:

What you should NOT do, in my opinion - and personal experience (not myself, but a guy I know) - is beating them up. Such hatred will reflect in even greater hatred from their side, trust me.

We had a little 'child' at our school that was beeing insulted by a human with turkish heritage, he replied something like 'shit turkish people!', one second later there were 20 relatives of the turkish on their way to hunt down the boy and beat him.

The boy was even more upset then and insulted them even more (him not having any 'nazi contacts' like many people here have) and I am sure that he would have called those 'contacts' if he had any, he was beat up 'till some teachers came, by the way.

Don't know the ending of the story, but must have been pretty bad.

What should have happened to the kid in your opinion then?

Congragulations for his racist ideas? A thankyou note? A lollypop? Detention from the teachers? Forced to give a public apology? A jail sentence? Put in stocks and have rotten vegetables thrown at him? etc

ok, some jokes ARE funny as hell, but only if they're true. I laugh at German jokes all the time.
