Cats vs Dogs

Cats, dogs don't taste very good, meat's very stringy.

So there is this cat queen in a close neighbourhod, where the workshop of a friend that I frequently visit lies, breeding once every few turns months. Since she's so warry of protecting her kittens, she wouldn't let any single member of the Canis genus in the neighbourhood.

A couple, of the unluckiest stock, decide to sit at one of the few cafés in the street and their bad luck is so firmly established that they decide to bring on their dog, of remarkable size and shape, along.

In a momentary ambush, Ms. Cat charges and routs the poor canine and fortifies her position in case of backstrike underneath a car. The wardog, though, is nowhere to be found but behind his owneress and the cat is fiercefully defending her position against the besieging ally force the husband, trying to fist her.

The situation woud go severer should Ms. Cat have sallied forth but my friend arrives and the couple with the dog promptly leave.

The dog would probably need some rehab. :yes:

Cats are more intelligent, cleaner and generally more beautiful. But dogs make better friends, and that is why I prefer them.

Dogs are friendly, jumpy, loyal and disgusting. Cats are boring, clean, easy to take care of and don't require too much free time.

The problem with cats is that they rip up way too many birds. we had to put a little bell on our last cat to stop the rampage. Though, on the other hand, the birds that fought back did pretty well. There were a couple of mocking birds that attacked that cat any time she left the house. They just swept in and pecked her head and flew off, they were too fast for her to grab. After awhile, she just started runnig when ever they saw her. I would have helped the cat, but the birds were only attacking her to keep her away from their young(She had already gotten afew of them~:eek:)

Dogs are a happy, gullible and can't really see whats coming. A dog will almost always be happy to see you. Cats, on the other hand, are a little different....

That's hilarious, great story. Once I saw this large dog chasing a cat, the cat ran across the street and the dog almost had it, I was worried the dog would kill the cat or badly maul it so I started moving closer. The cat ran up the trunk of a tree and in one smooth motion back out on a branch and then doveoff the branch right onto the dog's face where it proceeded to rake and kick and scratch until the dog whined and ran off.

The cat sat down and started licking itself clean, as if it had gotten dog stink on itself.

Well, the above is not the single recorded account of Ms. Cat indeed. She has been witnessed (more than once) chasing dogs out of the neighbourhood and in one instance the dog badly scarred on the face.

Surprisingly, she's much calm and friendly towards homonidae, so are her children, generally. She seems to be surrounded by interesting characters and events. One of her consorts is the single example of his species that I know of, babysitting kittens and training them in defense and birdcatching techniques, not necessarily of his own lineage. He's also quite a gentleman, with a noble style of walking.

if the previous occupants of your home had cats then it will still stink.
you cannot ever fully remove that stench.

so up yours kitties, I voted for dogs, at least you can clean their excretions up.

Agreed. Cats are also (well save the lion) solitary hunters unlike dogs (but hyenas aren't related to dogs anyway). Plus a tiger or even a lynx or bobcat is way scary than a wolf, as cool as wolfs are.

At the barn my mom goes to, there is a dog eating cat. It lives in the barn, except it can't catch mice and is fat. It likes people, but it attacks any and all dogs. It once sent a dog to the vet with half an ear...

And I can say that the intelligence of a dog or cat depends on the individual animal. One constant however is that any house pet will gravitate to the person who gives out food the most. Then they will show a preferance to an individual. One of my current cats a female domestic short hiar named M prefers me to anyone else. She will tolerate me to hold her up side down (as in cradeling her on her back in my arms) for periods longer than 10 seconds (if she's in the mood). She won't do that for anyone else. Even still she is not the smartest cat out there, we call her the special needs kitty.

The people who bought our house nine almost ten years ago had two big dogs (Berner Sennen or something like that). Soon after they moved in, the new lady of the house told my mother how the dogs had been peeing all over the house, you know, marking their territory or something like that. Our cats (and we've had lots of them), on the contrary, never had a habit of relieving themselves inside the house. It's all in the upbringing. I don't care how badly an animal needs to mark its territory - it will not be tolerated inside. An pet doing this is a reflection, rather, of the owner's ability to raise one.

And by the way - we never need to clean up after our cat. For the dogs, that's a different matter altogether (though they too do it outside).

I voted cats, should anyone be wondering. ~:cool:

My cats have never pissed or crapped in the house. Any animal will crap in the home if you dont train it correctly. Cats even when they go outside have the decency to bury their crap.

Cats come covered in dirt and other things when they enter the house.....

I am a cat-person myselve, but dogs are also very fun animals. I like cats because of the calming effect they have on me, they are always so completily satisfied. And unlike dogs they stay with you because it pleases them, cats just enjoy being around humans, they don't need us to survive. I wouldn't really call them inteligent, but they sure are cunning and manipulative, I love it ~:)

Research showed that dog-owners are,on average less intelligent than cat-owners.

I like both,own a cat and would never take a dog for the simple reason I'm too lazy to walk it every day. I do however detest the following dogs :

Dogs. You can learn them way more and they understand more. They're more nice to their family. They poo in the grass in stead of in other people's gardens! They don't smell like fish all the time. You can keep fit by walking them and you don't have to worrie they scrath some kid, dog or cat. They keep you home free of burglards and are humerous animals. They spend most of their time sleeping. But even this is good as they put out a calming karma. Also if a dog affectionate ro you its because it loves you not because it wants some food. They won't survive at their own, but cats won't either. But a dog likes you so doesn't want to be alone and therefor doesn't go away all day. Though they do get over affectionate when you go to feed them rubbing all over your legs.

They are smart, peaceful (at least most of them, there is so many personalities...) and there is something motherly on their appearance.

As someone who 'owns' 1 cat and 5 dogs, I can say that cats are much smarter, cleaner, more independant, and all that.

Now, I guess it depends of personalities. I'm myself rather a solitary person, and that's probably why I prefer cats over dogs.

I've raised a lot of cattle and I've yet to meet a cow I would call "smart." They have many good traits, but intelligence is not one of them. For example: Setting out hay, one always needed to make sure that well over a body length was between piles. That way they wouldn't stand there eating from one bale, and crapping on the next. Ditto for grain troughs, water, etc.

You haven't met the right ones ~;) . In my experience for example they are masters at setting themselfs free from their stall. And I have seen many other things too, but because of my limited english skill I can't tell them to you.
All I can say is that some of them act like they would have sense of humor.

Those don't count, but I understhand the appeal. Cats or dogs is what we play, not birds and bees. Talking elephants in a cats and dos topic is grandeur at best ;)

I'm just pretty miffed that my new place stinks of cat.
when I viewed it the smells were all nice.
Now they aren't.
I despise the previous owners *shakes fist*.
My place now stinks of hippy as I've had to resort to incense to disguise the cat.

I think cats are evil.~D The reason why we dont have as pets, cats same size as normal dogs is that those would kill us.~;)
