So I see you are the offical end all on beuaty now. Its not the gays are going to stop and allowing there marrige takes care of some legal issues that without it would be very tough to solve. The bottom line is these people aint hurtin no one and as long they keep there responsibilties they should be allowed the same rights. I also love how you guys consider marrige to be a sacred instution when 50% end in divorce. Its not like there spitting on the pope for gods sake

"You guys" who? Me guys? Not sure who you're referring to. You are quite right, though, there is a great deal of divorce these days, and our decadent, gender-confused culture is the main cause of that. I never said marriage was sacred, but it is a useful ideal. Should we poop on an ideal just because now fewer people are following it?
Now granted, you will not find me out in the streets, thumping on a Bible and yelling to bring down the heavens. I'm not even religious. And you are quite right in that it's not as if Gay Marriage is coming out of the blue as the first or even the most disturbing incarnation of moral decay in America.

No one said they shouldn't have the same rights. If a Heterosexual man marries a woman, it's called a marriage. If a Homosexual man marries a woman, it's called a marriage. I'm not saying that Homosexual men SHOULD marry women, but if they do, they will be afforded exactly the same rights as anyone else.
And who said that following a gay lifestyle was a crime? I don't think it's a crime. I am sorry if you feel that I have been oppressing you, either for being gay or for being a Christian (I'm not quite sure which). I am sorry if I seem insecure, but we all have our insecurities, you know. You may not quite have guessed mine, though.

Not a particular fan of Elton John. Imagine listening to Benny and the Jets or Crocodile Rock for the rest of eternity? Absolute hell.
Aside from that, I dislike the stigma that gays get, like they're some kind of inhuman abomination. No. They just prefer men to women for the same reason that straight men prefer women to men, its all about the chemicals in the brain. Mind you, I don't dislike gays, I just sometimes have a hard time being around a guy that oggles other guys, or says things like "skiddles. or fabulous. or super." (I'm not trying to be durogatory, I know that most gays are about as similar as Jag and Gawain)
Call it whatever you will, I'd prefer we call all marriages civil unions, that way when you probably divorce the person that you formerly loved, you don't have to feel guilty about it. After all its just a 'civil union'. Damn hypocrits and their power vacuum :san_angry:

I doubt Elton John's marriage will have much impact, if at all.
But since we're reaching the favourite topic of mine again (alright, it's not "favourite" and I'm not that interested, in case people want to jump to conclusions :san_laugh: ) I still wonder why gay marriage is so wrong.
