Axewielders storm into a unit of Capasantra's Swordsmen!!
https://img50.imageshack.us/img50/81...ders2tp.th.jpg
The swordsmen have been given a gloss map now, it still needs to be tweaked and is not my focus at the moment. Tomorrow will be the last day of Greyshadow development probably in the form of giving them a basic version of artillery.
Next week will be the introduction of the Kingdom of Peroland, a race of elves who are expert bowmen and allies of Capasantra.
--------------
@Braden
I forgot to answer your question about finishing so I'll post it here.
My plan is to get a working demo completed by the end of March, which will comprise of 4 factions (Capasantra, Greyshadow, Peroland and The Sorin Order) completed to a certain degree with fully working unit cards and ui system for those 4 factions.
Included will be the Battle of Kasadaroc:
The battle takes place near the City of Kasadaroc. This was the last battle of the previous age and where the campaign begins. The Capasantra and Peroland Armies have marched upon Kasadaroc in an attempt to take one of Greyshadow's major cities and output to the west. The Allies hold their position a few miles south west of the city to prepare for an attack the next day. The Greyshadow Army has intercepted their arrival and now marches upon the allies. To add to the mix, the Sorin are coming to the aid of Greyshadow and are due to arrive any time soon upon the allies' left flank.
The battle is fought ahead of the allied encampment somewhere in the Great Eastern Desert.
- The Capasantra are led by King Feramus (added will be a special models for Captain Druce and Captain Jeral who command 2 units in the army)
- The Peroland Elves are led by King Leomahn of Peros
- The Greyshadow are led by Grandslayer Feros fer Blackhand
- The Sorin are led by Meister Sordin
Thereafter the plan is to complete the mod sometime after my final assignment in uni sometime during the summer with a full campaign.
You mean the Freema?
They are the 'free' people of Novalanda. They live in complete peace with each other with communal trust and law. Their armies are semi-proffesional and not particually strong. They are mostly comprised from western humans, some elves and refugee seracom.
Dont know if that helps.

Try it, may look good!!
Hi Rich,
Well if you see below I’ve come up with some unit names/titles for you. There are some that I can’t improve on and can’t think of an alternative to what you’ve already come up with but I hope I’ve given you some ideas.
With only sketchy details on culture for some of the races (like the Dogma) I’ve had to guess and visualise them myself.
For example the Capasantra are very Trade based so lots of their names derive from the forces being Militias either financed or trained by various trading houses and guilds – I hope this hasn’t presumed too much.
The name “D’Eshtra” is completely made up by me and isn’t from any language. What I have done is create a word around the punctuation and form that the Forgotten Realms Drow use. As is doesn’t mean anything but sounds good when you say it, it can be in any language.
BTW – The mod I’d like myself will have Forgotten Realms races in a different world setting (similar looking to the current TW maps).

Nice Map
@Braden
Yeh i can use some of your names, other not either because they have to tie in with another faction or because they retract from the original purpose of the name.
I'll be sure to scan back over these before the demo release. Your efforts are very much noted, Thank You.
@Zombie
Thank You Kindly :)
Taken from Braden's name suggestion ive devised a new name and look for the Mighty Axewidlers
They're now known as the "Blakahn Guard", prenounced [black - an], which in Greyshadow Language means Elite.

Gloss Map and Cloak Weighting needs attention before being ready for proper preview and description... probably as part of tomorrow's final day of Greyshadow production.
You know what they say about guys with big axes. Might those Blakahn be compensating for something? *wink*
J/k, at any rate you've done some very good work on these models, and it looks like they're only going to get more exotic! I look forward to seeing you put out a playable product.
Hehe, who says that Greyshadows have anything down there?? :P
I love the exotic gritty fairy tale look, adds so much flavour!
You only need to wait a few weeks and you will have something to 'cream' over :P
----------------
BelgradeWar has mailed me his concepts for the remaining faction sheilds. I'll do my best to convert them into colourful glossy shields over the coming week.
Oh, I need your sage advice. I've been using gimp to make some faction symbols (I'm too ashamed of them to show them), and have tried everything, unsuccessfully, to produce the "glossy orb" appearance of those in the game. Do you know how to do that, or is it more complicated than just applying a filter and some lighting effects?
if you happy to have them look like mine then all you need to apply is indeed an omni light slightly offset from centre (i use top right) and then a lens flare upon the same point... to make it reflect is kinda hard and i havnt found a good way to do it yet.
Final Unit of the week for greyshadow!! (and is definatly the best too!!)
Blakahn Guard
https://img137.imageshack.us/img137/...iew37tb.th.jpg
These guys tear through the enemy like a hot knife through butter!
Theres only 16 (on normal setting) of them in the unit (plus the standard) but they can easy take on 2 full units of capasantra's swordsmen. Only way to counter them is with missiles or sacrificing a guardsmen unit to breaking them down.
Notice I've added the Blakahn Standard to the unit and behind him is the Greyshadow Captain who wears a purple cloak of the faction's colours.
-----------------
Next week sees the develoment of the Peroland Elves. A race of highly skilled defenders and exceptional bowmen.

Militia Spearmen - Militia Infantry

I aim to have 5 done by end of the week, i hope to be able to acheive this but i will be out on tuesday night, kareokee night :D
Ok so work has started on the perolandian elves!
Here's an image showing the first unit of archers on the battlefield, they're still WIP but will do for the purposes of this preview.
https://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...hers2dw.th.jpg
You maybe able to just see the ear poking through their hair in this image, this will be standard on many of the elves.
https://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...ershead5wr.jpg
I'll get another unit of light infantry done using an adaptation of this model done next before the making 2 armoured units and an elite hopfully before the week is out!
This is the Perolandian Elven armour set WIP! Its taking forever :P ive had a friend over this afternoon helping me with its concept and creation and top half is shown here modelled. It needs to be skinned still but you can see what we're going for!

The Heavy Infantry types will wear this armour with varying designs painted onto the chest and helm.
- Sword Infantry Type
- Polearm Infantry Type
- Main Archer
- Heavy Cavalry
- General/Captain (will have added cloak and other bits)
Note for balancing, the chest armour will be doubled because he wears the breast plate over chain.
