It has just been announced that Roger Waters will perform all Dark Side of the Moon at Roskilde Festival 2006 - Im going there.
I saw Waters live back in... maybe '84 or so in Montreal. The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking Tour. Great show. Almost a circus. Not the highly refined visual extravaganza I saw at the Floyd concert, but more... fun.
We didn't have the best seats and I spent a lot of time looking at the band with binoculars. Near the end, while looking at the guitarist, I said "That guy looks a lot like Clapton." My friend's hand smacks me upside the head almost immediately. "That is Clapton you idiot."
:embarassed: "Oh... "

Edit: Eugh... Roger Waters doing Dark Side? If it isn't the whole band, it's a crime against humanity. Kinda like "Creedence Clearwater Revisited."
Darkside never struck me that way. I like every song on wish you were here better than any song on darkside.Quote:

To me, it's not so much the individual songs as the whole. True, Wish You Were Here has better individual songs overall (although I would contest that with "Any Color You Wish") but as a whole unit, I always thought Dark Side worked together much better. Part of that has to be because Dark Side wass the first Pink Floyd album I ever heard, and I have some very good memories associated with it, so to my ear the whole album seems to transcend anything else Floyd did, post-Barrett. In fact, Piper never struck me as being the best until about six months after I got it, by which time I knew both Piper and Dark Side note for note, and prolongued massive exposure to Floyd had worn away their ethereal quality. (Long story short, I listened to nothing but Floyd for three months straight, by which time I had already been listening to Dark Side daily for an additional three months, and I almost lost my mind... not sure where I am going with this, I guess I am just trying to show that I know Floyd, even though I haven't been around as long as you have.)Quote:

Then we have to agree to dissagree. I find Wish you were here superior in every way. I saw them on the Wish you were here Animals tour. Man that was awsome. They played Money as well of course . The Wall was a great concert too. Especially from backstage :laugh4:Quote:
