The current rate of exchange is:
Bank of England pound sterling = 100 pennies.
Clydesdale bank pound sterling = 97 pennies.
Royal bank of Scotland pound sterling = 98 pennies.
Bank of Scotland pound sterling = 96 pennies.

A friend of mine was a professional wrestler who had a bout in Edinburgh. There were three in his party. My mates a bit of a card and loves a joke. When they approached the border, he says to the youngest in the group. (I think he was 16 or 17 years old)
"Get your passport ready".
"What!" "Passport?" "I haven't got one!"
His other companion, quickly cottoned on.
"No matter, we'll hide you in the boot." (that's the trunk)
They stopped, and the young lad clambered into the boot.
Once past the border they let him out.
Did the same on the way back to civilization. (Yorkshire) :laugh4:
When he got home his dad asked him how he had fared.
"Oh I did ok, but next time I must remember my passport." and told him about hiding in the boot of the car.
His dad fell about laughing and called him a wassock.
Morale. Don't believe a word my mate tells you. :laugh4:

I once took the train from Newark to Edinburgh, when I got back all I had was Scottish notes. The car park ticket machine did not accept them, I'm lucky a cab driver took pity on me and exchanged a fiver with me. Gave me a 1-to-1 exchange rate even! :laugh4:

Well, it seems from Commission Regulation (EC) No 2257/94 that Banana producing member states already had national regulations about the quality of bananas, which probably differed from each other. Thus, it can be said this EU regulation reduces beaurocracy instead of increasing it. BTW, it doesn't say 13.97cm, it says 14cm.

but that regulation is unfair, sure its fine for the bananas but its completely descriminating agaist plaintains...and men of my...stature...so i'm to big for the european union lol(or mabey i flatter myself).
