Mediolaniun is mine although Caeser was killed by stinking gauls.
This is the battle stats before I fought.

It's Caesar. Anyway, it's only called Caesar because he was the first dictator. Your Princeps shouldn't have a title like that.
Ok I played a bit today. Gaul marched a small army down into my lands so I faught them. This is my army and the stats.

The result.

They also had another army which moved away on there turn as I moved up to the bridge to attack. Now one side of the bridge is my army. On the other side is a small gaulish army.
In need of retraining back up to full strength I see. Nice going BM...keep em coming. :2thumbsup:
I also played my first Julii campaign on normal setting (40 men in Hastati unit)
Im a few weeks away from getting to Rome and when my Egyptians get there it wont be expansion on thier minds. :laugh4:
Thanks will do.
I have not played RTW in a while so I loaded my saved file and got some screenshots.
On the end of my first turn I was attacked by an average sized gaul army just next to the bridge.

I have not got a battle outcome for that fight but I won.
Now it's my turn to attack the gauls.

With an easy vistory.

Next there was an amry with a general so I had to fight him.
https://img57.imageshack.us/img57/99...e0107ie.th.jpg
And won again.

On the senate missions side of the game they told me to blockade a port so I built some ships and blocked it but got attacked and lost the naval battle.
If you dont rule the seas and want to do a blockade...you can blockade from the land side with your armies.
I have expanded as far as massilia as the senate told me to take it. It took me a while as it had a full stacked army garrsioned inside. This is the battle outcome.

Alot has happened scince I last posted. For some reasons this has happened:
https://img272.imageshack.us/img272/...e0022ol.th.png
i have not got a clue how he got there but the senate are not doing anything about him so?
I've gone and taken Osca and the marian reform has come. I am trying to start the war but my assassians keep getting killed by the generals bodyguards and they don't report it wish I think they should.
More sreenshots soon.
I wouldnt bother with trying to go for civil war yet. Spend your money on troops and buildings and go capture regions. When you have 30+ regions I suspect you wont be able to stop the civil war.
I think I know how he got there. It has happened to me before in 1.0. It apparently is a glitch and it happens when the Seulekids' capital is besieged and is full of units and there is a son that matures. In 1.0 maturing sons appear in the capital city only which was a big pain in the butt for me because I only recruit in cities that have generals in them.
I play 1.5 now and sometimes I'd get a maturing son who'd "appear" at the bottom left corner of the map in North Africa. The problem is he is invisible.
The earlier the other Romans are destroyed, the quicker and easier it is. Early civil war is always good :2thumbsup:

Screenshot time. I am working on taking the rest of gaul and spain with two fullstacked armies each have archers, cav and early leginary cohorts. this is a screenshot of my first battle using the one with the general.

A tough army you have built up there. Should really sort out the Gaul. Watch out for their Forresters.
I think you should retrain those Hastatii.
Also, fellas, how do I take and post screenshots?
Yeah but I can only take one at a time using Print Screen. And when I do, how do I upload them? Imageshack has certain size limits. I dont know what program to use. Where should I save the image to? How?
The first two links allow you to take as many as you like and they save into a place of your chosing. Imageshack does have limits o either save as .PNG or .GIF or open an account at Photobucket.com.
It will be quite a while until I post after this one as I reformatted yesterday and need to install the game again.
I had alot of fun fighting this battle as I had the strength to smash the gauls. Cash flow is a bit tight at the moment...
https://img466.imageshack.us/img466/...e0014mj.th.jpg
Getting caught is the objective, though.
:inquisitive:
They do get caught but get killed by the bodyguards and they don't report it to the general...
I'm back and have a screenshot of how it's going. I ain't posted for a while as I have been busy playing BI online, working :furious3: and working on my website and forum but expect more posts from me now.
Time to put an end to gaul.
https://img217.imageshack.us/img217/...test1hr.th.png
That will be tomorrow I end there lives so I will post what happens then.
If you want to come and register in my forum I am still working on the website so that should be up in a few days. My Forum Don't be afraid to come check it out also if you want any new topic/catergorys just ask me. :2thumbsup:
Nice campaign Bombasticus!
I've joined your forum as well
Right ok last time I posted I had missed some screenshots out I think. So these are them.
https://img508.imageshack.us/img508/...e0026bj.th.jpg
https://img509.imageshack.us/img509/...e0037cd.th.jpg
I had a small rebel problem in one of my regions so I delt with that quick before finishing off gaul.
https://img431.imageshack.us/img431/...e0051iw.th.jpg
https://img163.imageshack.us/img163/...0040cj1.th.jpg
It was time to take them down. Not much screenshots as they only had 13 men.
https://img507.imageshack.us/img507/...e0011xb.th.jpg
Romans celebrate.
https://img507.imageshack.us/img507/...e0060bo.th.jpg
Now gaul are finished who do you think I should attack next after I get my cash up to high levels?
I usually limit myself to one unit archers per stack since the AI just stands there and waits for me to shoot all my arrows as a gesture of good will.
Well I play online more so I know what the use of archers are I never used to have them till I did.
Nice post BM.
Interesting campaign position also. You asked what next and how to get money.
I know what I would go for but its not a money spinner.
If I wanted money I would go for Italy or Greece but neither fit very well with the typical Julii expansion against the barbarians. Going to either Italy or Greece would seriously stretch you aginst too many enemies.
I would hold in Spain, for now, and concentrate on Britian. Avoid war with Germany but that will need to occur soon enough. One trade route that will earn lots of money is London to Samarobriva...both Brit held at the moment so earning lots of cash for them.
Diplomatically at this point I allied with Thrace. Dacia fought Thrace and I threatened but didnt attack Dacia. That kept those two factions fighting each other and my eastern border secure whilst I fought Brit, Germany, Spain.
So go take on the dred Brit chariots.~;) And keep the pictures coming.
PS...and only 13 men to fight. Bet you didnt get a heroic for that one.
I could fight on two fronts once taken spain I could invade england and go into africa as they are usually good traders so they just have alot of things to trade.
No I never got one and amazingly enough the gaulish general killed 20 of my men where I only killed 13. He was not taking it lying down.
Make sure you build those farm upgrades. Your economy will receive a tremendous boost.
Thats what I am doing I go for farm/trade buildings like ports and so on to boost my money.
