Hopefully there will be no new tv series of Trek. I watched a Voyager episode the other day and it was just painful. Since when was hiring proper script writers so hard?
I still say that Irwin Allen's science fiction beats the hell out of the "classics." (*cough* Star Wars *cough* Star Trek *cough*) Why? Because noone ever took it seriously! People realised it's too damn stupid to be taken seriously, so it's just dumb entertainment. Unlike some other TV/Movie series... :brood:
Hmm. I started off watching the new Enterprise series with the intent to dislike it, and I did. Characters grated, it never really got interesting. But I started watching it again at some point and really what I saw; major plus point it had was a consistent series of developing plotlines that they stuck to over more than just two or so episodes. Excellent episode where they met a future Enterprise, and quite a few good ones after that.Quote:

It always ruins it for me when in a season of some series there's like three episodes in dozens that have something to do with a central plotline, and the rest are almost just fillers; fifty minutes really isn't enough to introduce a new plot and make me care, unless whoever wrote it was really good, such as perhaps in Firefly. One of the worst offenders is the Stargate series, which became entirely pointless in that way.
