Re: If you could, would you immigrate to Texas and take citizenship there?
I love Texans, and I've always had a good time visiting, but it's just too darn hot. If you could move it several hundred miles north, I would be more than happy to move there.

In Texas, they don't ride horses. They are at the back but that's no riding.

I see I am ineligible, because of the noble and distinguished history of my ancestors and the people of their beautiful land. For I hail from...Ohio!

I'm afraid you might have to settle for a .357 revolver and an AR-15.

This is Texas of which we speak. He'll have to settle for those weaps only if he wishes to be strictly legal.
Which is, of course, the default mode of behavior for all noble orgahs.

Don't ever underestimate Texas!
It's like America; there are all sorts. Cowboys, gay cowboys, rednecks, hipsters, hippies (rare, but still), goths, a few otakus, a lot of emos, filthy rich worthless CEOs and their ilk, etc.
I wouldn't move there right now, though. Dunno what I'll do there anyway. Besides, I don't even know "Hello" in Spanish.

Re: If you could, would you immigrate to Texas and take citizenship there?
Although I definitely appreciate the honesty that most Texans have, it's way too hot for me. Ideally, the temperature would hover around 60F.

For the same reasons I could never make a good russian, I get a feeling of loneliness and dread when I can see 7 miles in every direction.

I'd only "move" to Texas if Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked the US so hard it all became Texas. Wait...sorry, wrong thread.

Re: If you could, would you immigrate to Texas and take citizenship there?
Quote:
Sam Houston's strength continued to grow as he hunted down the remaining Enemies of Texas and stole their souls, eventually transforming into a literal giant several stories high. His reign of terror ended only when the benign cyborg known as Big Tex rose from the Gulf of Mexico to challenge his tyranny. The two behemoths faced each other in a climactic duel above the skies of Galveston Fortress. Big Tex was nearly destroyed by Sam Houston's raw power, but he managed to exploit the villain's arrogance, trapping him in a chamber of carbonite and exiling his gigantic, frozen body to the city of Huntsville, where it can still be viewed today. The collateral damage from this epic struggle is often called the Galveston Hurricane of 1900.
Having secured peace, President Big Tex ushered in an era of Texas friendliness by returning most of the empire's recent land acquisitions back to their original countries and letting California become a nation through no effort of its own. He further decided that Texas was much too powerful to exist as an independent entity--its limitless awesomeness could easily fall into the wrong hands--so he agreed to let it become the 28th state of the Union. Big Tex still lives and inspects his nation annually.
Perfect article, we sure taught those germans in WWII.:bounce:

Never. I hope to never sully my feet with the tainted soil of that, place. If god exists Texas is his toilet.

I would never go to somewhere where they committ unspeakable barbarities, like putting ice in one's tea.

Sorry, Lars, I missed the humor in this reply of yours to a light-hearted and festive thread. Perhaps you could explain it for me?

I shall consider myself duly chastised for my temerity. Having been put down so thoroughly and with such biting wit, the only honorable response is to go off and sulk.
