MTW2 looks good, it's just a pity i've got to buy a new pc or find a way to upgrade a laptop on the cheap. In the demo could you use the campaign map or were you limited to just battles? If not was MTW2 diplomacy more sensible? Call me sad but that's what is going to make me buy it or not ~:handball:
yes that combo system is amazing indeed :2thumbsup:
You can do better than that!Quote:

First, and most im portant: Put the texture quality on highest!
Performance will be good and M2TW suddenly looks beautiful.
I have some Picture here. They are in 1024x768, so maybe you have to save them first to see them in proper resolution.
- full texture, grass, effects, vegetation
- all other options low
Though the pictures show an other aspect of M2TW. ;)

If you can read German:
http://www.totalwar-zone.de/forum/th...id=4090&page=2
They all look awful - low res, no FSAA, crappy textures?
I took some proper ones last night at max settings but when I opened them in Photoshop I had the HUD, smoke and a white screen :inquisitive:
i'll have another go tonight an put some quality screenies up for you:2thumbsup:
I'm hoping this is a general reply regarding the whole thread.Quote:

To be honest, I’ve seen nearly the same quality from Rome Mods currently available, to be honest the only difference I can see is that you can zoom in even closer – which isn’t very practical “mid-battle”.
What I’m thinking though is that the Demo isn’t doing the graphics the justice they deserve and these screen shots are not on par with the officially released screen-shots (think of that what you like). Also, screen “stills” don’t show what the animations are like and I hear these are well done indeed.
Truth is that virtually none of us will Zoom in that close whilst we’re playing, and I think the Demo looks fine from the suitable distance though not “vastly” better than Rome……..discounting the fortresses.
Fortresses look impressive in the demo and on the official releases but so are the settlements in Rome……they’re just deliberately “low key” due to the era being portrayed.
Hmmm….sitting and hoping that the demo isn’t reflective of the detail in the full game now.
The animations are well done but they don't 'connect' very often which makes them a little odd, this may have been fixed by now.Quote:

Those Knights lances look screwed up.
And the bloom effect looks horrible! Whoop!
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.../m2twshot2.jpg
Ahhh, that nasty bloom effect has gone.:laugh4:
I'm not sure whether I prefer it with bloom on or off, but I certainly found it easier to see what was going on with bloom off. Can't say which was nicer though.
Braden, it makes a massive difference as to what the unit detail is set at. On medium/low it looks like you say, a bit average, no improvement on RTRPE. By the time I got to Pavia I had dropped the shadows to off and upped the unit detail to high and it looked lovely. The big manor house & encampments were very nice, more like an FPS than an RTS ~:)
And don't forget the promo screenies & videos will be on an uber-pc which has been optimised for MTW2.

Does anyone know why, when I take a screenshot, I don't get the game screen saved? I just get the HUD and smoke :inquisitive:
yes I tried that and it looks much better on high texture quality but not better than RTW though, just a little bit different.. the trees are still ugly 2d sheets and the units look blocky.. that said performancewise it was ok 'til that battle of gunpowder. that and the fact that we don't get to have more than 3000 men on a battlefield in the demo...Quote:

ya be the judge.. not to mention that I can get much better graphics in RTW with evrythin' cranked up to the highest if I don't care 'bout the performance.
