so, EB GETS YOU OFF THE BOTTLE :idea2:
Man, EB has one big fat con....
I can never go back to playing Rome: Total War vanilla. It's boring now. You guys ruined it for me. :laugh4:
Hopefully with MTW2 there won't be 2 realism mods, the RTR v EB experiment of having 2 mods should never be repeated in my opinion. A community wide project should take their places as the realsim mod for MTW2. And with OR and EB merging, we won't have 2 Roman Era mods either...
Why can't everyone just merge? :dizzy2:
Not everyone likes EB and not everyone likes RTR, having the two mods is important. The problem was with the lack of cooperation between the two in their early days, it is important for full cooperation between mods, but to ask for one mod for each era is, I think, wrong.Quote:

There are 2 'major' realism mods already:Quote:

There are some 'minor' realism mods too:
Peoples of God Total War.
And the various mods that adress completely different timeframes (one of which is EB2).
Note: the difference between major and minor mods, of which I speak, is that the 'major' mods focus on portraying the whole scope of Medieval 2 Total War in a more realistic manner than CA is going to, and that the 'minor' mods focus on an depiction of an rather smaller area. (Like with the Peoples of God mod: that mod is basically about the Middle East in those days, and therefore most likely excludes Russia from the campaign map. Although at that time Russia was an important region of Medieval 'Europe': numerous 'Crusade' like wars have been fought over that territory.)
I think that it is a good idea to have more then one realism mod. Everyone has their own taste, not everyone likes RTR just as not everyone likes EB. Friendly competition between mod teams is ok in my opinion, just as long as it doesnt get out of hand.
