So just as well it's not available. LoL.
For me, the strangest thing in removing this option is that, by doing this, so much work and creativity now goes unnoticed by players. Why do that? :inquisitive:
I always use "restrict camera" in battles (seems a little bit more realistic), and that means I cannot see not even my own city - and if it's a huge one, sure you miss a lot - I can inspect only areas near my units.
Once, waiting a for siege battle to end (yes, the "passive AI"...) I took a stroll on the streets using one unit... The buildings are rendered in beautiful details. The cathedral was awesome. There are everyday sounds going on (well that was a little strange, I confess, to find people that mind their own business while the enemy fights your fellow citizens 1 mile away, maybe getting ready to exterminate all the block? :inquisitive: )
Anyway, it was the first time I thought maybe that passive AI is there for some reason, man!
I would vote that option back.
Yeah it's amazing some of the detail on the buildings. I almost expected to find signs saying bakery, armorer, barracks etc. I've spent a lot of time looking around the settlements, gorgeous.
So now we know why city viewing was removed from the game. It would be so gorgeous that no one would play the game any more. We'd simply all sit in front of the comp with our jaws slack staring at the purty buildings.

Do you mean the crossed-swords indicator? That's still in there! I had one once after an Heroic Victory over two full french stacks in a bridge battle with my own 2/3-full stack. True, you don't see them as often as you did in Rome, where nearly all "heroic" victories (win against superior numbers, even if you have legionnaires and all your enemy has is peasants --> easy) became "Famous Battles", but they are still there.Quote:

Even better than getting the marker was getting a six-star, ten-loyalty, 20-year-old man-of-the-hour! :2thumbsup:
On topic of the OP, I also miss the city view. I liked it in Rome, where all cities where rather monotonous, I'd surely have loved it in Med 2. Shame they didn't include it. On a similar note, I was rather disappointed when I took Venice, expecting to find it on an island (maybe a mixture of siege and bridge battle), but it's a city just like any other.
