I dare say it looks increasingly like a lot of natives world-wide were killed for nothing. Trying to erase the shadow of Empire.. I for one am thouroughly dissapointed. Republicanism? Anti-British sentiment? A completely fictional accent? Talk of changing their designated national anthem? I hope it's nice and warm on the bandwagon. Because it's pissin' cold in it's wake. :skull:
Ouch... just ouch...Quote:

The Politicians are very bad in Aus.
In Federal Parliment, we Have to keep the Coalition in (Liberal, National Parties) because Labor is incompetant.
In Queensland, we have to keep Labor in because the Lib's and National's cant agree...even after at least 7 years of losing.
Bah!
The Royals come down every so often, costing around 3-4 million per visit...
All the queen does is take flowers from little girls. That her job! (Chasers :beam:)
Land down under - Men at work
Surely most obvious choice ? :2thumbsup:
What's wrong with God Save the Queen? After all, if it wasn't for the British colonising Australia, most of us would still be in Mother England anyway, or in America.
lol, reasons explained earlier, it isn't about how England and all contacted Aus earlier, its just, we are not british anymore, we're Australian, and personally, we don't really care for the so good "British Queen'
We dont give a damm for England anymore
Did we ever?
Wow, your a QLD Warluster? That makes me you and sapi!
@ Monkian:  Truly that is wise.
Personally.. We? Something of a contradiction there, old boy. I can appreciate the point though. Australia isn't part of the UK, and hasn't been for some time. Though I think calling for the severance of all ties is unnecessary. Denial of one's heritage is an unhealthy road to tread. Republicanism on the other hand is all fair enough. If somewhat unorigional. :laugh4:Quote:

C: Presidents are expensive, the Queen is cheap by comparison.
Question: How much of your taxes go to supporting the Queen in Buckingham Palace?
Egad sir, how dare ye call Her Majesty cheap? I'll have you know those hats are remarkably expensive, despite their look.Quote:

For you Englanders:
Set up QE2 as a true C-in-C on the military side, that way you can have Chas or Billy to follow "Over the Top" as a War leader.
...Just having fun.
I would be somewhat surprised if Her Majesty was not head of Her Majesties Armed Forces. The clues in the name. The Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy.....

Far more than half the country want a republic as it stands today.Quote:

How long has hicks been in guantamano again?
And how many other countries still have citizens there?
A big  for howard on that count
So true - look at the way they've managed the water crisis (wouldn't be a damn crisis if they weren't incompetent) and then look at how easily they were voted back in.Quote:

Opposition?
Opposition?
Are you there? :beam:
At least Beazly is gone.
In a poll designed to make Beazly win, he still lost
Questions such as:
Who would make a better Prime Minister; Beazly or Adolf Hitler
Answer: Probably Kim, Adolfs dead.
Who would make a better Prime Minister; Beazly or a plank of wood
Answer: The plank of wood gets walked over a bit, but beazly has a lot of practice
Who would make a better Prime Minister; Beazly or a dog turd
Answer: They pretty much filled with the same stuff.
But the fact remains, we have no choice of who to have in government....its sad.
Queensland is out of water in about 8 months..scary
Epee or Sabre? I prefer the point weapon myself.Quote:

Bopa - if you are looking for a contribution I will chip in.
"Ahh Helen, your taxi is here to take you to the airport."
"What? I never ordered a taxi. When am I flying to?"
"Australia"
"Who is paying for that"
"The tax payer - thay have all chipped in PERSONALLY"
As for the Aussie anthem - "Stairway to heaven" the Rolf Harris wobbleboard edition would be fab. I could imagine that intimidating the All Blacks.
I think the Australian Commonwealth should join with New Zealand and become the Republic of New Zealand comprised of the North, South and West Island. :laugh4:
Oh noes! I'm outnumbered! Stay north of the border! :wink:Quote:

Let's not get carried away. Inter-state bashing is as unhelpful as international bashing.
